More and More
Enrick and Jace stare at her speechlessly.
"Drina, did you say OUR daughter?" stutters Enrick as he walks toward her. He grabs her by the shoulders and shakes her gently. "OUR daughter? Baby, what have you done?!" He swallows several times and stares at his mate. Jace also gapes at her, rooted to the ground.
"Enrick! Can we postpone this conversation? Our daughter is in danger. That bitch you're housing here has drugged her and is holding her captive!" she exclaims impatiently. She grabs his hand and pulls him into the packhouse. Like a zombie, Enrick lets her carry him like a little boy by the hand, barely able to process the information he has just had. For years he has longed for a family with his mate and now he hears he has four daughters. He doesn't know whether to be happy about this news or angry at his mate for keeping this important matter from him. But Drina is correct, the most important now is to free Erina from the hands of the evil woman in his house.
Jace, still in shock, follows them, with Head Warrior Cleo in tow.
When they reach Alcina's apartment, Drina kicks in the door and spurts into the bedroom. Alcina lies under the covers, unaware of what is happening around the packhouse. Enrick grabs her by the throat and throws her against the wall. With a tug, she slams against the concrete and slowly slides to the floor. "Alcina, you've gone too far. Pulling an innocent child along in your hatred is unforgivable," roars the Alpha King as he steps toward her. He clutches her by the throat and holds her up. "I'll count to three and you tell me where my daughter is. And believe me, I'm in no mood for jokes. Right now, I'm on the kill," he blows in her face.
"Your daughter? Enrick, I don't know anything about any daughter of yours. What are you talking about?" she protests, gasping for breath. She grips his hand as he increases the pressure on her throat. "Alcina, I'm warning you. Where is Erina?" he bellows in an Alpha tone. Jace jumps forward. "You better confess. It's a matter of how painful your death will be. We can prolong it or give you an instant, painless passing. It's up to you," the Beta growls in frustration. The whole evening has ended differently than he thought it would. The information he now has put him in a quite confused state of mind. As if having a teenage girl as a fated mate didn't cause enough frustration, he now has a lot to deal with.
"Is Erina your daughter?" cries Alcina now. "Isn't she Jace's mate? What's going on here?"
Everyone's patience is running out. "Two more seconds to confess," Enrick bites to her. She holds her hand up in the air. "Okay, okay. I'll take you to her. I swear, I didn't know she was your daughter. There was no indication of such a relationship". Enrick now grabs her by the shoulders and pushes her toward the door. Jace holds the other side, dragging her down the stairs together until they are in front of the packhouse.
"Alpha King, what's going on here?"
Elder Antony steps forward. Enrick sighs. "Elder, can I do a full report on the event later? There's an urgent case going on right now," he asks the older man. "All I want to say is that I have a daughter. No, four daughters. But this evil soul has kidnapped one for God knows what reason. And she now faces a choice of a painful death or getting my daughter back".
"That's all right, Alpha King. We're all here waiting for you. The announcement that you have pups is of extreme importance to the pack. And maybe now you'll also finally admit that the lady next to you is that fated mate you keep talking about," the Elder commented, seemingly stern.
Enrick throws Drina an infatuated look.
"We're in most of a hurry. All the details later, Elder," he states before he takes Alcina to an SUV. Once they are all in the car, he turns to the witch. "And now tell us where to be. No stunts, I'm absolutely not up for that today," he growls at her. "I swear, Enrick, I didn't know Erina was your daughter. Otherwise, I would have handled things differently. I just thought I'd cause some commotion after Drina burned my stuff," she claims.
"Save your breath, no one here believes you," Drina warns her. "You thought to kidnap Erina and make me pay for it. The pack would become furious with me if it became known that I had endangered the life of a child and would turn against me. Also, Jace would become my enemy and go for my head if Erina was not found. You would probably kill her too, that's how evil-minded you are, you bitch!" A roaring growl from father and mate is heard at Drina's explanation.
But she's not done yet.
"You've gotten yourself into a big mess this time, Alcina. Your sordid plans have burst in your own face. You have kidnapped not only the daughter of the Alpha King, but also the mate of the Beta and the granddaughter of the King and Queen of the Royal Kingdom of Werewolves," Drina belts her. "You now have not only the wrath of Midnight Moon to deal with but of all the werewolf packs in existence. The safety of the Crown Princess, in particular, is the responsibility of every one part of our species." Alcina's eyes go big, she begins to tremble like a leaf. With a pale face she just stares ahead, swallowing heavily.
"Your hatred consumes you now. You wanted to retaliate Giles, the rapist?" Drina taunts her. "Erina still has three sisters and five brothers. At least six of them are out for your life now. And believe me, their weapons can be quite painful". These last words from Drina do the trick. Alcina pisses her pants in fear.
But it's not the situation Alcina is in now that captures the attention of everyone in the car.
"Drina! Did you say Erina has three more sisters and five brothers?" booms Enrick, now perplexed.
Jace slams on the brakes.
"Luna Queen!!!" he now growls. ...
