Let Her Go!
'Enrick! Enrick! Ooohh my God!' I suddenly hear Jace shout in panic in the mind link. 'You won't believe this until you see it with your own eyes. Moon Goddess! Come and take a look, check out your window first and then come down."
First, I am rooted in my place.
But then I run out of the bathroom to my window.
And there I see a great sea of flames!
The fire is spreading, pack members try to extinguish it with blankets. It's total chaos, everyone yelling at each other.
The red Rolls Royce, the same one I drove to Human Town with Alcina for dinner yesterday, is on fire. On the roof of the vehicle, there is a pile of clothes that keeps the fire going. It is all crazy down there!
And when I look some distance from the blaze, I see none other than Drina, my mate, standing with her hands militant into her side. Jace stands a few feet from her, shouting orders to warriors.
My jaws fall apart.
Did Drina really set that expensive vehicle on fire? What was wrong with her?
And then she raises her face to an apartment away from mine. I now run to my balcony to see what is going on there. Alcina stands there, watching the spectacle with a grim face. I can tell she is furious like hell and can hardly control herself.
“Alcina, don't wait for others to carry out your plan. Come down, it's between you and me now”, Drina challenges the pack's guest. “Don't waste your time, woman. Come down, I'm telling you, so we can deal with this right away.” I can't believe my ears, Drina is clearly not in the mood to listen to reason.
“Drina! You bitch! Did you empty my wardrobe and set all my clothes on fire? I can not believe you did this. Wait for Enrick to hear what you have done. I promise something is waving for you,” she cries out to my mate. And then she starts laughing out loud, sarcastically. “Can't you deal with competition? And I haven't started yet, believe me, girl. This is just the beginning."
Now I stare at Alcina angrily. The woman knows exactly the position Drina holds in the pack and my heart. And yet she dares to contest her. This disrespect will not go unpunished. I haven't given Alcina any reason to think she can question Drina. On the contrary, right in her presence, I made it clear that Drina is the only woman in my life.
But then again, a loud bang breaks through the tense atmosphere. As my eyes comb through the darkness of the night, I see a high fire blazing across the treetops. This is not reality, please, Moon Goddess, I must have been caught up in a dream. No, this is not possible in real life.
Jace also turns to look back but is unable to see the fire from his position. He stares back at Drina, frowning.
“Drina! Baby, what are you doing?” I call down, staring at her startled. "Are you planning to set the pack on fire?!"
All eyes turn to me.
Drina faces me, she is tense and it's emitting from her beautiful face. “I'm teaching that bitch a lesson here. And I'll be right there with you too, Enrick. Messing with another woman. Really?” She stares at me defiantly. “The cabin on the lake where you enjoyed time with her is also on fire. I'm just reporting that to you, my love."
Before I can react to her statement, some warriors run toward Jace.
“Beta, the business center is also on fire. The fire is coming from all sides, it's impossible to put it out," he screams in hysteria. Jace grabs his hair with both hands and turns to Drina. We both know what's going on and who is burning down the building.
“Luna Queen! Was that necessary? I was there too and it was a strict business meeting”, he exclaims. “Millions of dollars are lost in this malice. The insurance does not cover arson, especially since you, the Alpha King's mate, started it. You are considered one of the investors as well. What a waste of millions!”
Drina stares at him unfazed. “That's none of my business! Everything this bitch touched here I burn. Just a little while and she's ablaze too. Let her come down!” she demands sternly.
Drina is furious, this is not going to end well, I'm so damn sure.
'Clark, where are you? Take Alcina to another location. I want to avoid a confrontation. Drina is losing it and won't be stopped till she is dealing with Alcina,' I instruct my Gamma. ‘Act quickly, man!’
'On my way, Enrick. Try to calm the Luna Queen, she probably was watching every step you made from a distance. There is a snitch in the pack. Who can that be?', Clark sounds.
That's a good question that definitely needs my attention. 'We'll find out later. Now remove Alcina for a whole day. We'll decide later how to proceed with her.'
I sprint down the stairs to the parking lot, where some warriors finally got the fire under their control. Another group is rushing to the business center. With big steps I walk toward Drina. I pull her into my arms and hug her tightly. Jax purrs with pleasure, he has longed to see and be close to her again.
“I have missed you so much, my love”, I sigh in her hair. “My wolf became distraught. It's so good to hold you in my arms at last." I kiss her neck and place light kisses all over her face. My total joy to see her again casts from me.
I can feel her hesitating, fighting to suppress the mate bond. My hand tenderly grips her hair and bends her head slightly. As my mouth takes over hers, I let out a sigh of satisfaction.
“You've been very naughty, mate. You know there is no reason for your jealousy. You are the owner of my love and heart, forever”, I whisper to her when we are forced to part our lips.
“But I don't want to see you with another woman, Enrick, my wolf and heart can't handle that. I know you can never be unfaithful to me, but you have to stay away from other women.” She snuggles closer to my chest. “Alcina is no good. Let her go, out of the pack. She knows where to go."
Hmmm, I'm able to feel my mate's mood. And I know what she is up to. If I let Alcina walk out of the pack, she will step right into Drina's trap. But I don't know if that's the end of this episode and Drina will finally be free to start our life together.
“Let me tune in with Clark and Jace. You know Clark is in love with her. If I suddenly send her away, it can cause friction between the three of us. I can't have that now," I tell her. "I will try to put a time limit on her presence here." ...
