Drina Pays Back

Alpha King Enrick's POV

After my successful work trip to the new business center, I go straight to my apartment to rest. My wolf is restless, Drina hasn't visited us for several weeks. Jax craves her, her warmth and arms around us. Every night we watch the woods for an hour, hoping she will show up at any minute. But so far, that hasn't happened.
And Jace left right after he dropped off Alcina and me at the packhouse.
I know that Erina's disappearance is taking a heavy toll on him. I have yet to hear the whole story, he must have done something drastic that Erina rejected him and then left without a trace. She didn't even visit me to say goodbye. They have to solve their problems on their own but the packhouse seems so empty without the little chattering Erina. That girl is the liveliness in the building, mysteriously turns everyone to her will. She has an aura that forces everyone to devote themselves completely to her. And she still owes me a promise.
I take a bath and immediately plow onto my bed. With my hands behind my head, I lean to the bedboard.
Later in the morning, I'll catch up on some work but right now, I don't feel like it. I think back to the moments in the business center where I finally confessed to the small crowd that I had found my mate. And of course, this news will be spread today itself, the WhatsApp chat groups are now running at full capacity. Many have seen Drina on my arm at the fashion show and they must also have noticed how affectionate we were with each other. And the cell phones have never worked as hard as they did that night, so many have a picture of us together at this time. But either way, it's just guesswork until Drina and I make our mating official.
Despite my good intentions, I still get out of bed and walk to the window. Drina will have to show up soon, I miss her now more than ever. After a deep sigh, I turn and dive under the covers. Good rest and then a healthy meal will keep me going again later.
I fall asleep like a log.
I don't know how long after I closed my eyes, in my subconscious, I feel two hands pass over my shoulders, caressing the entire length of my back. Seductively they go up again to descend slowly to my buttocks through my sides. The sheet is getting lower and lower, the hands grab my hips and try to turn me around. But I don't give in, these hands are unknown to me.
Drina never comes when I'm asleep.
She surprises me when I'm still up or I find her waiting in my room or walking in while I'm busy with work or something. And if I was still asleep in bed, she would just lie down next to me, holding me tight until I woke up again. She knows I need to be equipped to do my job. So these hands do not belong to my mate.
Dipped in a sleepy haze, I cannot help but postpone meeting the possessor of these hands. She's not going to get off easy, my punishment won't be thrifty. And when I can finally break out of my sleep, I turn around and shake the weird hands off me. Hunter growls fiercely, ready to rip off the head of the villain who puts his paws on us without permission.
“Alpha,” she whispers, bringing her lips to my chest.
I punch her shoulders forcefully, she flies across the room and slams into a wall. “Fuck. What are you doing here? With what right do you set your filthy paws on me?” I bite at her. Whining, Alcina scrambles up from the floor. “What do you think you are doing? Damn it! What are you doing in my room?” Like a panther threatening to kill its prey, I approach her, my wolf is on edge. My eyes are spitting fire, my fists are clenched.
"Enrick, Enrick, no!" she exclaims, holding her hands over her face for protection. “I have a crush on you, haven't you noticed that I'm in love with you?” she whispers. “I just wanted to feel how you would be under my hands, if I were able to turn you on,” she says, hoping to reach the soft side of me.
"In love with me? A mated Alpha King? Have you gone mad, woman?” I blow to her. “What happened to Clark? He is an unmated wolf if you like to frolic so much. I am not available”. I'm standing close now, legs spread, looking down at her pathetic figure on the floor. “Go there and experiment or whatever your plan was. But never come here again. Did you hear that?” I bite at her again, out of my mind.
I grab her by the upper arms and pull her to the door as if she was something dirty.
“Enrick, please. Let me stay with you tonight. I promise you won't be bothered by me,” she whispers urgently, trying in vain to free herself from my grasp. “I love you, Enrick. I just want to be close to you. Nothing more. I swear to you,” she continues passionately.
“Listen here, woman. I don't want to know anything about your love. I have a fated mate I can't live without, she's the only woman I see. You are no one to me but a guest. And for you, I am the Alpha King, we are not acquaintances”, Jax bites her furiously. He's taken me all over now, displeased by the woman's brutality in front of us. I have him under control so that he can't shift, but he is the one in charge.
“And if you want to live any longer, keep your feet off my body and don't come back into this apartment,” he hisses to Alcina again.
I open the front door of my apartment and throw her into the hallway.
Like a bag of dirt she hits the wall and drops to the floor. I slam the door shut with a vengeance and angrily return to my bed. But I'm too angry to fall asleep.
'Jace, are you back yet? You don't know what just happened. I think you should start organizing Alcina's departure. She's going way too far now,' I shout into the mind link. Once I've regained my composure, I notice that Jace hasn't heard me. He's probably running with his wolf again and is out of reach.
I go to the bathroom to wash my face. Sleeping will now become more difficult. Better I go to my study to get some work done.
'Enrick! Enrick! Ooohh my God!' I suddenly hear Jace shout in panic in the mind link. 'You won't believe this until you see it. Moon Goddess! Come and take a look, check out your window first and then come down."
I am rooted in my place.
But then I run out of the bathroom to my window....
