*Chapter 54
Underground Fighting Ring*

**Ava was nervous.**

When Nikolai asked her on a date earlier that day she was so ecstatic that she didn't even give it a second to sink in before saying yes. This was a dream come true to go on a date with the one guy she’s been in love with since grade school.

She got dress fancy in a tight gold dress that looked appropriate, which was a first for her. He was such a gentleman, opening the door and talking with her all the way to where they were going. When Ava asked where they were going he smirked and winked at her. "It's a surprise."

He was right, this was a surprise. When he drove into a dark alley with a lot of people hanging around the entrance Ava started getting nervous. "What are we doing here?" She asked with a quiver in her voice. "Well, I was hoping to introduce you to someone very special to me and then take you out to dinner. That's if you don't mind?"

Of course, to show him Ava care she said no and together they walked into the building. They took their seats as the announcer got into the ring. Rubbing her hands together in nervousness she gave herself a pep talk. Let's just watch this, and then the man of her dreams is going to take her out of dinner.

"Ladies and Gentlemen!! Welcome to this year's fight night!!!" The crowd around them went wild "Let's welcome to the ring The Rampage with 57 wins and 20 Loses weighing at 242.50 pounds." There was cheering all over the room.

The woman in the right was tall, built and had a smirk on her face. She was obviously ready for the fight that was to come. Ava looked around the room before looking at Nikolai. There was a smile on his face and for a second she thought the girl in the ring was this someone special to him.

Before Ava could ask him the man talked again, "Now her opponent, The Natural Killer, with 184 wins and 2 Loses, one of our reigning champions weighing at 187.39 pounds." Ava looked at the ring, wasn't that unfair to someone that had so many wins to fight against someone that didn’t.

The crowd around Ava didn't cheer but they were whispering among themselves, sitting on the edge of their chairs. Ava turned to the girl on her right and asked, "Sorry what's going on? Why is nobody cheering?" She looked at Ava as if she was crazy, "The NK last fought 2 years ago before disappearing, everybody thought she died. If it's true and she is back, I feel sorry of the Rampage."

In the middle of her speech cheers broke out in the room and Ava struggled to hear what she was saying. Ava looked up and saw a girl in a dark hoodie that had just exit the curtains. There was a man in the one corner talking to the fighter. The NK was looking around the arena until her eyes found Ava’s or it looked like it.

Slowly she pulled the hoodie of her head uncovering her face. Ava’s eyes grew wide and she gasped when Ava saw Tatiana glaring at her. Or maybe it was just someone that looked like Tatiana. Ava wiggled in ber seat, hoping she could get out here. Ava decided against it and whispered in Nikolai's ear, "Is that Tatiana?" he nodded pointing at her. "Yeah, it is."

Ava tensed and sat back, knowing fear was written all over her face. Ava should have known, no matter what she did, Tatiana will always be in Nikolai’s life. Ava had to find a way to scare him away from her.
