Chapter 61

*2101 Woodpine Road*

**Rolling over to** my right side I groaned softly, urging myself to wake up. Blinking my eyes open unwillingly, I licked my dry lips.

Looking at Nikolai as he cuddles into his pillow, I grinned. He looked so peaceful and I didn't want to wake him so I silent got out of the bed like a professional thief and walked to the kitchen on the tips of my toes. Today was Nikolai's 19th Birthday and I have the whole day planned out.

I was going to make him breakfast in bed and then I'm going to take him a Sports Car racing event but that ends at about 1 pm this afternoon. After that, I'm going to take him to Stingray Ops which is a paintball field in New York that Nikolai has been talking a lot about.

By then he would probably think that is all we’re going to do, but in fact we were also going to have a mini bonfire with just our closest friends.

I took a big tray from the cabinet and placed it on the kitchen table. Luckily I reminded everybody that today was Nikolai's birthday and that they didn't need to come in, so I could spoil him today without interruptions from the staff. It was also a great chance for them to go see some family.

I took Bananas and cut them into small wheels then putting a few pieces of watermelon on the plate as well next to the banana wheels. I put a hand full of Cashew's and 2 wheels slices of Papaya. Weirdly enough, Papaya's were Nikolai's favourite fruit, which I completely don't understand.

After I placed that plate on the tray I put a small bowl of fresh whipped cream because I knew that Nikolai loves it. With that, I made him a big mug of strong-sweet coffee with 2 tsp of coffee and 4 sugars, just the way he liked it.

I started the eggs while putting the toast in the toaster. As I waited for the toast I started cutting the cheese and tomatoes. When the toast popped out I put butter on and the slices of Cheese before placing the eggs on the cheese. Then I placed 2 slices of tomatoes on the eggs.

With the tray now full I walked softly up the stairs into my room. I chuckled softly as I saw Nikolai stir at the smell of the breakfast. He blinked his eyes open and said in a husky sleepy voice. "I knew something smelled good." He sat up straight and I placed the tray on his lap before kissing him on the lips.

"Good morning and happy birthday." He smiled up at me and I walked to the other side of the bed. He pulled me closer to his side and fed me a piece of watermelon and licked up the drop of juice on my lip before I could. He winked at me and eats the rest of the food and occasionally feeding me a bite of his food. When the tray was empty he rubbed his stomach and had a lopsided grin on his face.

"Don't I just have the best girlfriend ever?" He kissed me on the lips again but it quickly turned into a mini make-out session when he placed me on his lap pulling me closer to him. I pulled away and pulled something out of the bed-side-table and handing it to him.

"It's not over just yet. The day has only begun, so..." He looked at the folder and opened it. Inside were 2 VIP tickets to the Sports Car race event that said when we need to be there and the time we will be driving as well as which car we would be driving in. He grinned like a kid that just got told he could have any candy he wanted.

He looked at the other packet that also had 2 tickets in for the Paintball. "I invited the boys and my friends to play with when we go paintballing but the race is just for you and me.

"Babe this is amazing!" Nikolai grinned when he stared out of the VIP room at the race track. "Don't call me Babe, and yes it is." I chuckled. Nikolai and I hated calling each other nickname so I knew he was just joking but it still made me feel weird.

I stood next to him and saw the first batch lining up at the starting point for their race. I looked at the keys I had in my hand, the keys to two 2016 Veneno Lamborghini's. There was a black one and another black with silver stripes on it. These cars were recorded to drive up to 220 Miles per hour.

We were going to start in an hour and drive 30 times around the race track here at Aqueduct Racetrack.

The time flew and before I knew it we were 25 laps into the race. We were driving head to head and I knew that I would probably let him win because it's his birthday and I didn't want to pop his ego bubble.

"Dude you should have seen. I was so sure that Tatiana would win me but on the last lap I passed her and won." Nikolai chuckled with his friends and I rolled my eyes. I saw Dimitri chuckled and told Nikolai.

"Man, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but she most probably let you win. She had a friend in the Le Mans Race that came in third place. He took her around this track quite a few times."

The Le Mans race is one of the most prestigious races in the world. When you take the green flag at Le Mans, you are racing away from civilization and into the unknown, with a race car being your only salvation as you battle around a circuit 8.5 miles in length.

Nikolai looked at me with a grin and a hand on his heart. "You let me win? Man, I want a retry and a fair one at that." I chuckled and nodded before leaning into his open arms. I was surprised with myself. If you asked me a year ago if I would have been in a guy's arms smiling and feeling happy I would probably shot you between the eyes.

"Times up" The revere blew his whistle, ending the paintball match. Searching through the crowd for Nikolai I spotted him looking for me. We walked to each other and he placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Shit you got me good," I growled at Nikolai as I rubbed the spot where a paintball bullet hit me on my arm. I had a clean record up until the last course where Nikolai shot me. We had taken everyone out and it was just us two on the field. It took about 20 minutes before I got a proper shot on him and was about to shoot when I felt the piercing pain in my shoulder.

Nikolai put his gear on the ground and walked to me. He kissed me on the forehead and placed a soft kiss on the sore. "I'm sorry Sweetheart." Now if I wasn't me I would have awed at how cute he was but I'm not going to fool anyone. My heart warmed a bit and there was a butterfly attack in my stomach.

"Tatiana?" Nikolai looked at me and grinned. "I can't wait to take the Omertà Oath this year. I love you." I smiled at him and blow an air-kiss.

I let him drive home because he shot me first and we made a bet that whoever shot the other one first would drive home.

With his hand on my lap I look down at the bracelet on my finger. The bracelet he gave me. I wasn’t the jewellery wearing type but I would never take that bracelet off. In the inside it had engraved ‘His Princess, His Queen’

Nikolai was so focused on drive I chuckled and he spared a glance at me. “So, I hope you have extra clothes packed in.” Taking his eye of the road for a second he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

“What did you think that was all we were going to do today?” He rolled his eyes and a smile slipped on his face. “How am I supposed to give you the best birthday ever if you keep making mine better?”

Not replying I laughed and shook my head.

Nikolai had done just like I asked him and got dressed casually before slipping into the gaming room. I told him to stay there until I came to fetch him. He of course was resistant at first but with one glare from me he shut up and disappeared.

While he was in the room, I had a lot of help setting up the backyard with drinks, food, music and balloons.

All our friends started to arrive and I told them to hide behind bushes or around the corner so Nikolai wouldn’t see them when we walked out.

I jogged back into the house up to my room where I quickly refreshed myself with new spray and fixing my hair as well as my makeup.

When I looked much better and not like I just helped with a surprise party I walked to the gaming room to go get Nikolai.

He was playing darts and without making a sound I stopped at the door and looked at him, He was looked handsome to night. So handsome I wanted to call of the party and have my will with him but I wasn’t going to do that.

“Moretti,” Nikolai turned around and grinned at me. Sweeping me off my feet in a loving kiss I got lost for a second. His lips were soft and his breath smelled like mint.

Unwillingly I pulled away and took out the blindfold from behind my back. “Let’s put this on and do the things I planned, before I forget about the plans and take you to bed.”

Of course he wanted to say something but I placed my hand in front of his mouth and shhh’d him.

With the blindfold over his eyes, I helped him out of the room to the backyard. Everything was eerie silent and I smirked.

Pulling the blindfold off everybody jumped out from where they were and shouted,

“SURPRISE!!”

Nikolai’s eyes were light as a grin broke out on his face. He turned to face me and shook his head. “You are amazing. I could never have asked for a better girlfriend.”

He leaned down and wrapped his arms around my waist. Rubbing his nose against mine, I let my heart warm with love. “Neither could I!” He kissed me with the same passion as in the game room but without the lust.

In this kiss it was just love.
