Chapter 69

*Rosie’s Diner*

**I rubbed my** throat and swallowed hard, trying to get rid of the nausea. I really hope I wasn't getting sick. I needed to up my game now that I'm married. People can't think I'm now slacking since I have a weakness. Being sick is the last thing I need right now.

Deciding to order another Vanilla Coke as the waiter passed I gulped the rest of my glass down. I could still see the glances that Nikolai was throwing at me. It was starting to irritate me. Even though I knew he was only doing it out of love but it was angering me that he thought he now has to look after me the whole time.

I thought I had the nausea under control until Nikolai's breakfast plate was placed in front of him. On his plate were toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheese. I didn't know what it was but before all the plates were placed on the table, I was up and running to the bathroom.

Ugh, what was that smell? His food looked so good until I smelled it. Was something wrong with his food? Was it maybe not fresh enough? Or was it over its due date?

My throat started hurting as I hurled, but nothing came out. I had this cramp in my stomach and the nausea was giving me a headache. "Tatiana?" I couldn't reply as another set of nausea hit me, this time causing me to bring up last night's dinner.

After vomiting for what felt like hours I flushed the toilet and got up. My head was sweaty and my knees hurt from pressing on them. Shaking my head I walked out the toilet stall and rinsed my mouth. My eye met with Grace's through the mirror as I rinsed.

"Are you pregnant?" Her words caused me to choke on the water. She rolled her eyes and leaned against the wall.

"No, I am not. Just not feeling well. Was probably just something I ate last night." She shook her head and frowned.

"When did you start feeling sick?" Her question made me roll my eyes. "Grace, I'm not pregnant, Okay? I only started feeling sick yesterday."

Without waiting for her reply, I walked out of the bathroom. Once again as I reached the table I felt nauseous again. "Sorry guys, but we have to leave." Placing a kiss on Silva's cheek, I walked out of the restaurant and waited for Nikolai at the car.

He didn't take long and the car ride was silent other than the radio playing. Nikolai decided to break the silence, "Are you sure you're okay?" Not saying anything for a second I turned to face him and nodded. "Yes, I'm okay. But could we maybe stop at the nearest pharmacy? I just want to get something for this stomach bug.

Nikolai nodded, "Sure, I'll even go in for you." I pecked him on the cheek. "That won't be necessary. I have to get tampons and all those things. You can just wait in the car."

The thought of Tampons made me worry. I had my period before, during and after the wedding, plus my period was never normal so I decided to just relax.

We ended up at the pharmacy a lot quicker then I realized. "I'll be right back." Getting out of the car, I walked into the cooled room and walked to the aisle where they kept the female things. Grabbing two boxes of Tampons, I turned around and stared at the rows and rows of pregnancy tests.

Grabbed 4 of the most expensive ones I jogged to the back where they had the medicine. "Hello, how can I help you?" the woman behind the desk asked as I started up the rows and rows of medicine.

"Give me your best nausea pills, something that's okay for a pregnant woman." She glanced at my basket and I shook my head. "Oh no, it's not for me. It's for my sister." The woman smiled and got back to work.

Finally standing in line I waited to get to the front. Unfortunately, I could see Nikolai in the car out the window in front of me. Nervously smiling up I looked down at the woman. "Oh um can I have a bag please, but could you maybe put the tests in my handbag?" I smiled like nothing was wrong.

The woman nodded while looking at the ring on my finger.

It's been 5 days since I went to the pharmacy. 5 days of being absolutely freaking sick and I still haven't gotten my period. Great, this means I actually have to take the tests.

"Hey love, I'm going out with the boys for a bit. Is that okay?" Nikolai asked when I walked down the stairs. Luckily I could keep the vomiting at bay when he was close so fortunately, Nikolai thought I was no longer sick anymore.

"Yeah, sure. I have some work to do anyway." Nikolai grinned and kissed me on the cheek. He then walked out of the house in tight fitted gym shorts. Turning my head, I stared at his butt. Realizing what I was doing I shook my head and jogged up the stairs.

Nobody was home so it was just me. Taking out the tests from a box in the back of my closet I placed them on the bed. Unwillingly I stared at them, mentally feeling nauseous again.

Let's just get it over and done with. I don't need to think too much about it.

I went downstairs and grabbed 2 bottles of water and jogged back upstairs. Taking the test with me I sat on the edge of the bath and downed the 2 bottles.

It felt like forever so I started taking all 4 the test out to make sure they were in hand reach when I was ready. Finally, I felt the need to use the bathroom so I peed on all four sticks like a pro. How I did it I don't know but I did.

Finishing I washed my hands and set the timer for 10 minutes because the longest time I had to wait for a test was 10 minutes. I left the bathroom door open and sat on the edge of the bed with the timer ticking next to me.

After 9 minutes and 30 seconds, I hear the door open downstairs. Shooting up from the bed I rushed out of the bedroom and looked at the door.

"Sorry love, I forgot my phone. Could you maybe get it for me?" I nervously laughed and shouted sure. Acting like nothing was wrong I walked to the room and got his phone.

I was halfway down the stairs when I felt my one-foot slip from under me causing me to fall on my butt. Nikolai rushed up to me and picked me up. He was about to walk upstairs when I nodded to the kitchen.

"Let's use the kitchen, its closer." He placed me on one of the tables and took out the first aid kit. "Moretti, it doesn't hurt that much. Just put a bandage on it and go out with the boys. I'll ask Alfred to help me."

Nikolai rolled his eyes at me but said nothing while rubbing some soothing cream on it before wrapping a bandage around it. "You know, you don't have to act so toughly anymore. I know you and look after yourself but I'm here to help."

I could see Nikolai was conflicted so after he finished I pulled him closer and placed his hands on the table for kissing him softly on the lips.

"I know, it's just I did everything for 4 years before you came along and I still did most of the things by myself. You just have to give me time to get used to the idea that I don't have to do everything by myself." He kissed my forehead and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Okay, and before you say anything. I'm still going out with the boys. I'll be back later." His words caused me to grin and pecked him on the nose before shooing him off to the door.

He helped me off from the table and walked me upstairs. "Stay upstairs. You have an office up here and it's close to the room. I'll be back in two hours tops."

I was back to where I started. On the edge of the bed, staring at the bathroom. My phone timer said -15 minutes and I knew my results were ready, but I wasn't ready to know.

Waiting another two minutes I got up and walked into the bathroom to the tests. Flipping over the tests so I could see the screen.

A tear pricked at my eyes and I slide down the wall to the ground.
