The Mating Ball

“What do you want us to do about your cousin, Luna?” Dean asked after I told him about what Owen confessed to me.
I shrugged. “He hasn’t done anything wrong. He’s the one who’s been hurt in all this.”
“And your uncle?”
I narrowed my eyes at Dean. “You two can call it even. I feel for Eight. He must feel alone.”
“I’m sorry mate,” he said holding my cheeks.
The garden was private and quiet. The betas were training and everyone else was busy getting ready for the mating ball. I pushed Dean to the stone bench.
“Little Wolf?”
I spread his legs and dropped to my knees. My heart ran a marathon but the thrill spurred me on. Dean gripped both my wrists and laughed gently.
“Have you taken something?”
“Like what? You hide all the good liquor.”
“For your good and I don’t like to share.”
“If you don’t want me to, I won’t.”
He released my wrists. “Of course I want you to.”
He unzipped his pants for me. I felt moisture form between my legs. I bit my lip and watched as Dean unleashed his member. It stood stiff waiting for me to reach out and touch it.
Dean planted his hands on the bench and winced.
“Fuck.”
I positioned myself nicely between his legs. I found desire in his eyes and smiled.
“Oh, don’t tease me, Layla.”
I ran my hand up his entire length. He grew harder and I moaned.
We shared another look. He breathed evenly, watching me work.
“Go on, Little Wolf.”
I stroked him with one hand. I was shaky at first then I grew confident and made Dean moan. He threw his head back and groaned. When I was comfortable enough I took the tip of his cock to my lips. Dean sat up and gathered my hair in his fist. Slowly I took in his member, breathing through my nose I tried to avoid gagging.
“That’s it, Little Wolf,” Dean said.
I pulled out and sucked in a breath before taking him in as much as I could. I sucked and stroked with one hand. This was a new level of intimacy for me. I didn’t do this often thinking about how inexperienced I was hurt my confidence and speed but Dean was there guiding my pace.
My mate liked it fast and rough but he was gentle with me. Something I appreciated but I wished he would let loose sometimes and show me what he liked. I thought about when Dean tied me up and I gave him a blowjob. That was one of the few times Dean showed a glimpse of what he likes.
I had to show him I wasn’t fragile. I sucked and stroked with my tongue, taking him further than I ever had. Dean grunted in satisfaction. He pushed my dress bodice down and squeezed my nipples.
“That’s right, Little Wolf. I’m going to fill you up.”
I pulled up my dress and attempted to give myself an orgasm too.
“Oh, your scent drives me insane,” Dean said.
Dean held my head trying to pull me off. I tasted the pre-cum. I pushed his hands away. I wasn’t fragile anymore.

“The party’s already started!” Ginger said, packing up her make-up.
“I can’t find my mask,” Avery said.
We needed masks?
“Crap,” I said. “I don’t have a mask.”
“You’re the Luna. It’s okay.”
Technically, I’m not Luna until Dean and I have a mating ceremony.
“I’ve been waiting for this since forever! Sex with your fated mate is the best during the mating moon.” Ginger said mischievously.
I cringed at the mention of fated mate. Avery didn’t seem like she knew what was said at the private party a few nights ago. She was happy. She wore a body hugging red dress, she opted for lace sleeves with a slit. Mine was black with an open back and straps and no slit Ginger went all out in a stunning glittery red dress with a low back, sweetheart neckline and two slits. She was not to be outdone tonight.
“I have to make sure Sam’s wearing the suit I bought him. See you guys out there.”
She left us to finish up. Ginger did all our make-up to what she believed was best for us and she was right. My features were enhanced and I couldn’t wait to see Dean’s reaction.
“One wouldn’t think I was working for the party,” Avery chuckled.
“You don’t have to. You should have a good time.”
Her fated mate was a powerful Alpha. Then I remembered he didn’t want her.
“We’re short-staffed. As soon as the moon arrives everyone will be gone anyway so I won’t be on my feet all night,” she said sweetly.
“Where will you be when the full moon arrives?” I asked, trying to sound innocent.
She narrowed her eyes at me. “On my way home.”
“Alone?”
“Ugh, Layla. Did he tell you?”
I shrugged. “No… I figured it out.”
“He has someone but… it looks like we’ve turned a new page. I know me being an omega bothers him.”
I wish I could say Gabe’s reasonable but he held me hostage for being a spy once.
“Why couldn’t the moon goddess mate me to an omega? We would be happy. I went from being mated to a Beta then an Alpha. How unlucky could a girl get?”
“You’re not unlucky. I know Gabe’s a great guy; he’ll make sure no one hurts you.”
She sighed heavily. “I hope so. I did say we turned a new page so things are hopeful!”
I clapped my hands. Fate always wins.

Dean leaned against the front door glaring at his wristwatch. He looked up and did a double take.
“Sorry, I’m late.”
“No, no. It was totally worth it. You look gorgeous.”
He kissed me and ran his hand down my back, cupping my ass when his hand came to a stop.
“The Alpha and Luna are late,” Dean said when we entered the car.
“I hope everything’s going smoothly.”
This was my first mating ball and I wanted it to go off without a problem. Ginger was massive help if she needed a job in party planning I would gladly hire her. As we neared town hall we heard the music pounding.
“Looks like everything’s going good,” Dean said and held my hand.
The crowd cheered when we entered. The food was great, the drinks were flowing and the music was great.
“Stand with me as I open the party?” Dean whispered in my ear.
“Sure.”
I got up on stage with Dean. Nerves crept up with all the eyes on us. I subconsciously searched for Eight among the crowd. I found Owen with another group of ladies instead. He wasn’t here. He wasn’t thrilled about the ball anyway. I noticed Avery wearing her mask going around serving drinks. No sight of Gabe though.
“The mating ball’s finally here. I assure you that you are all safe. The hybrids will not be a threat tonight. I hope many mates are found when the moon arises.”
The crowd erupted into applause. The music started up again.
“Dance with me,” Dean said.
“Sure if you don’t mind getting your toes stomped on.”
“I’ll take my chances.”
Dean led me to the dance floor. I held him close and swayed to the music. In front of us, Ginger and Sam danced and made out to the soft music. Close by Gabe leaned against a wall scanning the crowd or searching for his fated mate.
“Your eyes got brighter,” Dean said.
“They did?”
“I think that means the mating moon is close.”
My heart rate increased. Dean moved closer.
“I think that means it’s time for us to get out of here.”
