Robb

**Dimitri:**

"Fuck..." I groaned, reaching my climax inside Haizel. She wrapped her arms around me, pulling me towards her lips, wanting to kiss me, but I pulled away before withdrawing, not wanting to continue any more than I already had.

I lay on my back beside her, and seconds later, she moved closer, wanting me to wrap my arm around her waist. I looked at her before getting out of bed, making her frown.

"Where are you going, Dimitri?" she asked, her voice low. She sat up, holding the blanket to her chest, shaking her head in question. "It's late; you can't go out right now. We can shower in the morning," she added.

"I have some things to take care of at the club. Go to bed, Antonia has school tomorrow." I said, heading to the bathroom.

It had been three weeks since Angel had been here, and I had to admit, though I didn't want to, I couldn't stop thinking about her words about Haizel since that night. The amount of doubt running through my mind, the lack of trust when she first appeared at my door, and even the fact that I couldn't understand how or when she got pregnant...

**Flashback:**

"Who's the father of the child, Haizel? And don't you dare say it's mine. We never had unprotected sex, and as far as I knew, you were on the pill." I said, scrutinizing her as she looked down. She had been missing for years, and just when I was starting to settle, she chose to appear.

"You know for a fact that I was only with you, Dimitri. No one else..."

"Really? It seems to me that you're forgetting about your boyfriend. What was his name again? Robb?" I asked, watching her tears well up in her eyes. Her heart raced, and she shook her head, refusing to look at me.

"You know Jacob and I were just friends. I tried to make you jealous. You were going to marry another woman; I got angry..."

"I gave you my reasons, made my promise..."

"What was I supposed to do, Dimitri? Should I have waited until you fell in love with her?" she asked, stopping me. "Lowrence is yours. Whether you choose to believe me or not, I'm not lying about that."

"We'll do a paternity test, and only when I see the results for myself..."

"Are you seriously doubting my word now?" she asked, shaking her head in question.

"I have every reason to, Haizel." I said, stepping back. Her hands trembled as she clasped and unclasped them, trying to hide what she was feeling. She swallowed, looking away from me, and I kept my eyes on her, waiting for what she would say. "First a paternity test, then we'll talk about the rest."

"Dimitri..."

"I've said what I have to say," I said, standing up from the chair, signaling the waiter to bring the bill. "I have a meeting to attend. You can call me when you decide to stop lying..."

**End of Flashback.**

I shook my head at the memory, allowing myself to relax as the warm water poured over my head in the shower. Its heat soothed my tense muscles as I stared into space, trying to calm my thoughts. The doubts resurfaced, doubts I thought I had resolved. For years, at least, I thought so.

I washed my hair and body before stepping out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my waist. I walked out to find Haizel looking at me with a frown, shaking her head in question. "You've never touched me like that before. I mean, you never left right after doing it."

"I have work," I said, turning to the closet. "And you should be sleeping."

"Did I do something wrong, Dimitri?" she asked, and I sighed, shaking my head at her. If I were to list the number of 'wrong' things she had done in the past, I would never finish. But then again, I didn't care. As long as my son was being raised as he should be, I had no reason to complain.

"I said what I said, and I don't like repeating myself, Haizel." I said, choosing to use her full name. It was on rare occasions that I used it, and she knew that when I did, she needed to take it seriously. Of course, that was unless she wanted more trouble than she needed.

She dressed and wrapped the blanket around herself before getting out of bed. She hesitated, reaching out to me, buttoning my shirt for me, and though I didn't want her touching me, I knew to stay quiet. I didn't care that she had been in another relationship, but the doubts I always had came back once more, and that wasn't something I liked.

"Were you still with Robb when we broke up?" I asked, catching her off guard. Her eyes widened in surprise, and her hands, which were buttoning my shirt, trembled as she let out a nervous laugh. It was the same laugh she let out when she was preparing a lie. I didn't say a word, not wanting her to know I was doubting her, not until I had proof in my hands.

"What are you talking about, Dimitri?" she asked, shaking her head in question. I had to stifle the calm laugh that almost escaped my lips as I looked at her. "Are we going back to that topic again?"

"I asked before, and you refused to answer. I'm asking you again, and you're going to give me an honest answer," I said, looking her dead in the eyes. "Is Antonia my son, Haizel?"

Haizel froze, allowing herself to process what I asked before stepping back. "Your past is exposed to more than just me, and though I've often told you to keep your dirty work under the table, I find myself hearing your name more times than I'd like. However, I've always shut them down. But now I'm asking you this question, and you're going to give me an honest answer."

"You already did a paternity test! What more could you be asking?" she asked, shaking her head in question. "Do you realize the accusation you're throwing at me? I've been your wife for almost five years, and here you are, again, questioning whether I'm lying to you about my, our son?"

"I asked a question and expect an answer, not a question answered with another," I said, yelling at her.

"This is ridiculous," she said, shaking her head at me. She went to walk past me, but I wrapped my hand around her arm, stopping her.

"I expect an answer," I said, repeating myself. She opened her mouth to speak before Antonia's voice interrupted our conversation as he shouted.

"MOM!"
