I'll spend the night out...

**Dimitri**

I watched Angel walk towards Lowrence, wrapping her arms around him, pulling him to her chest. His eyes were fixed on me as she hugged him, and Antonia, who was behind him, took a step back before leaving the room without saying a word.

"Antonia..."

"Alpha," Bella called to me, and I turned to face the woman. I was shocked and worried, and I had to admit that I didn't know what to do. She stayed quiet for a few seconds, observing the scene in front of her before Angel left the room with her son in her arms. I knew I had hurt her arm, but she didn't even bother to comment on it. She just left without saying a word.

"How is she? And the baby?" I asked, and she sighed before nodding.

"They are both fine. She will need to rest and make minimal movements for a while. Leaving the house will be a bit difficult for her since she is still in shock with everything. We shouldn't stress her with anything, and she needs to focus on what she eats and drinks." She explained, and I nodded. I looked at the door of the room for a second before shaking my head in question.

"Can I go in and see her?" I asked, and she shook her head.

"She asked to sleep. We have her medication for that, but she should be fine in the morning. For tonight, we can just let her rest. You know, she seemed a bit shaken, and any nervousness could be bad for her tonight. Please leave her for one night." She said, and I nodded, stepping back. The idea of hurting my child was not something I wanted. But her lies to me were something I knew I couldn't easily forgive.

"We have a medical appointment later this week. She will need to check on the baby and her own well-being. Do I need to get a wheelchair for her? Or will she be able to walk to the car?" I asked, and she frowned. Her heart raced, and she wrapped her arms around herself, shaking her head in question.

"Don't get me wrong, Alpha, but it's rare for an Alpha to choose to have his mate go to a doctor for a check-up. You know, with our wolf children being different..."

"Daniella is a wolf. She can check and see how Haizel is. She won't be worried or apprehensive. She will also give us everything we will need during this pregnancy. After so long without getting pregnant, I'm sure Haizel will need a little more care, and I want that to be given to her to the fullest." I said, and Bella nodded, opting not to comment. I looked at the woman for a second and then at the door. Bella clenched her fist over her arm, squeezing it until it turned red, but she stepped back.

"Do you need anything from me, Alpha? As you know, I'll need to check on the Luna." She said, and I raised an eyebrow.

"You still haven't answered my question," I said, and she frowned in confusion, looking a bit distracted. It was unusual for her to be this distracted. I knew her well enough to know that one of the reasons we hired her was because she was more focused on everything she did.

"Sorry, what question, Alpha?" She asked, swallowing as she waited for my answer.

"Will she be able to walk? Or should we bring a wheelchair?" I asked, getting a bit irritated. She shook her head, putting on the best smile she could before clearing her throat.

"No, she will be able to walk. She just needs to keep it to a minimum, and you will need to be careful with stress during this period. You know, you don't want to end up hurting her or the baby." She said, and I nodded. She turned to leave, and I looked at the door for a second, shaking my head in question before turning to walk to the living room.

I needed to talk to my son. It was the last thing I expected to happen. But then again, I didn't even understand how they managed to come here when they should have had maids taking care of them.

"But he hurt you, Aunt Angel," Antonia said, her voice holding more fear and pain than I had ever heard.

"Not at all. Your father and I were talking. The two of us have our own way of discussing things when we tend to want to show our power. He was teaching me how to do a trick to pin my enemies down. You know, I am also an Alpha blood, and learning these skills is often important when it comes to combat." She said, her voice so soft that a crying child would have calmed down.

"You have a bruise on your arm, Mom." Lowrence said, making me take a deep breath while trying to control my own anger at myself. I didn't know how I was going to explain this to them. Whether they would be willing to listen to me at this moment or not.

"I gave him one too. He just tends to heal a bit faster than I do. You know, the Alpha is very strong, and he has his own healing powers. But I don't," said Angel, with a calm and content tone.

"But you're also an Alpha blood," commented Antonia. "Shouldn't you heal just as quickly?"

"Actually, no." She said, and I entered the room, standing by the doorframe as I looked at them. The children and Angel were sitting on the floor while talking. She looked at me for a second before turning her attention back to them, not letting them notice my presence there. "As a mother, I carried a child inside me. That is something a man doesn't do. To keep my child safe and strong, I tend to be a bit weaker. That means you two will be healing ten times faster than I do, making you as strong as the Alpha when you grow older."

"Will we be as strong as the Alpha?" Lowrence asked, and Angel smiled.

"You two are of Alpha blood. You need to be strong and act accordingly. When you grow older, you will be training, and that training will make you both much more powerful. But you will need to be wise with the strength you have, merciful and kind." She said, looking at both of them. "True power and strength come from within. The abilities may end up fading away, but when you are strong inside; that is what makes the difference."

"When I grow up, I want to be like you, Mom." Lowrence said, and Angel smiled.

"Me too," said Antonia, making my heart sink as I listened and processed their words. "I want to be as kind and intelligent as you. It doesn't matter if you are weaker than Dad. I want to learn from you, Aunt Angel."

She opened her arms, allowing them to walk towards her as she hugged the two children. She didn't even look at me while kissing their cheeks.

"You don't need to worry." She said, her voice softening. "I will make sure to be the role model you want to see. I give you my word on that, but you will have to promise me something too."

The two children pulled back from her, and I watched as they looked into her eyes, waiting for what she was going to say. The fact that she didn't even show that I was there told me that she wanted me to leave. I understood her reasoning; I was curious about what she was going to say. Nevertheless, I took a step back, retreating behind the door.

"You two will not let power blind you. You will not harm those who are weaker. And most importantly, you will have the mercy that everyone wants to see in their Alpha. Can you promise me that?" She asked, softly. A promise that I knew I would not have asked them to make.

"Yes," said Lowrence.

"I promise." Antonia responded. I took a step back and turned towards my office, where my eyes met Leonardo's. My beta shook his head in question, and I took a deep breath while trying to control the anger I felt.

"Alpha..."

"We are both leaving," I said, and he frowned in confusion. His eyes studied my expression before he looked at Angel and the children.

"Is everything okay? You told me you had a meeting...?"

"I said a word." I said, stopping him. "We are both leaving."

I walked towards the door, not bothering to wait for him.

"Dimitri, what the hell happened?" Leonardo asked, wrapping his hand around my arm, stopping me from going anywhere as we both left the room.

"Haizel lied, almost lost the baby, and the children saw me arguing with Angel. Do you want me to continue?" I asked, and his eyes widened in surprise. He took a step back before looking at the door.

"Do you think it's a good idea to...?"

"Neither of them would bother to look at me anyway," I said, stopping him. The anger I felt boiling inside me was going to make me do something I knew I would regret. So, leaving the house would be the best option right now. "I'll wait for you in the car. I'll spend the night out..."
