The battle
**Dimitri**
The sound of combat was close, each step we took brought us nearer to the chaos unfolding at the western border. The forest, usually a refuge for the pack, now became the stage for a battle that could determine the fate of us all. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins as we approached the battlefield.
When we finally emerged into the clearing that marked the western border, the sight before us was one of pure chaos. Wolves in human form and their lupine shapes fought fiercely, teeth and claws tearing through flesh, the air filled with screams and growls. Lucian’s allies were numerous, more than we had anticipated, and they were attacking with a ferocity that showed just how determined they were to destroy our pack.
“Advance!” I shouted, my voice cutting through the noise of battle. My warriors responded immediately, launching themselves into the fight with all the strength they had.
I charged toward the center of the battle, focused on taking down any enemy that stood in my way. Every strike, every attack, was delivered with lethal precision, but also with a restrained rage. Lucian had moved ahead, trying to catch us off guard, but I was determined to show that we were ready for anything.
In the midst of the fight, I saw Leonardo battling against three enemies at once, his movements quick and precise, but the number of opponents was overwhelming him. I ran to his side, taking down two of them before they could react. Leonardo looked at me, a mix of gratitude and determination in his eyes, before throwing himself back into the fight.
“We can’t let them advance!” I yelled, trying to maintain order in the chaos. “Hold the line! Protect the border!”
The words were unnecessary for many of my warriors, who were already fighting with everything they had, but I knew they needed to hear that we were all in this together. The battle was fierce, and our enemies were skilled, but the determination of my pack was unwavering.
As I pressed forward in the fight, each movement was a deadly dance of attack and defense. Blood stained the ground, the smell of iron and sweat permeating the air. I could feel every blow I delivered, every enemy that fell, but the battle seemed endless, with new enemies emerging at every moment.
Then I spotted one of Lucian’s leaders, an enormous wolf with scars marring his face and body, commanding his warriors with sharp shouts and firm gestures. He was a threat, clearly stronger and more experienced than many of the others, and I knew I had to face him before he caused even more destruction.
I advanced toward him, dodging attacks and taking down anyone who tried to stop me. When I finally stood face to face with him, our eyes locked, and I saw the intensity of hatred in his gaze. He didn’t just want to win; he wanted to utterly destroy us.
“You must be Dimitri,” he growled, his voice deep and filled with contempt. “Lucian has spoken a lot about you.”
“Then you know he’s doomed,” I retorted, readying myself for the confrontation.
“That’s what you think,” he laughed, charging at me.
Our confrontation was brutal. Every blow we exchanged was full of strength and determination. He was fast and strong, but I had the advantage of fury and the need to protect my pack. The fight was a clash of power, our bodies colliding repeatedly, the sound of flesh and bone meeting echoing across the battlefield.
Time seemed to stretch and contract around us until I finally found an opening. With a swift movement, I drove my claws into his abdomen, twisting until I felt his resistance give way. He roared in pain, but before he could recover, I delivered the final blow, slashing his throat in a decisive move.
He fell to the ground, life fading from his eyes as the battle raged on around us. There was no time for celebration or rest. One enemy down, but the war was far from over.
“Their leader has fallen!” I shouted to my warriors, trying to rally their morale. “Advance! Don’t let them retreat!”
The news of the fallen leader seemed to energize my warriors. I could see the change in their eyes, the renewal of determination. They fought with even more fervor, pushing Lucian’s allies back, refusing to yield even an inch of territory.
But despite our advance, I knew the battle was far from over. Lucian had sent his best to destroy us, and there were still many more to face. We needed every ounce of strength and courage if we were to come out of this victorious.
I continued fighting alongside my warriors, my mind focused on every movement, every enemy.
