In His Room
After standing for so many hours, Princess Raziya realized she couldn't endure more of the leg pain.
She'd been trying her best to stand for as long as possible while awaiting help, but none of it was forthcoming. Her waist was already strained, her legs became too heavy. So, in as much as she hated how irritating the cell looked, she had to lower herself to the floor.
An angry tear slipped her eye as she forcefully sat on the dirty littered cell. How did she get to this point?
She looked around and another left her eye. Goodness! Even when she was in her father's Palace, she hated walking through cells due to how irritated she found it. And to think her father's cells were even neater than the hole she was in... How did her life get so messy?
She huddled her arms and legs and went into deep thoughts - painful thoughts. Definitely, she needed to do something to save herself from there. She couldn't imagine spending one more day with those monsters. Yes, she'd killed their precious gamma, but it was an accident. She didn't go out with the aim of shooting a wolf; she wanted an animals. Or perhaps, she ended up shooting him because they were all animals!
Light sobs threatened to rack her throat, but she didn't let it. Oh! Princess Raziya's greatest enemy was being weak. She hated it with every gut in her and that's the reason she's been trying so hard not to unleash it despite how painful it has been for her.
She felt tired, hungry and sleepy. It was dark already. So, she wouldn't blame herself for feeling that way.
She stayed that way for a long time - her arms and legs huddled together with her head in-between - until she heard footsteps. She whipped her head up and waited for whoever it was to show up. They held lanterns and lit up the dark cell. And when they finally stood in front of her cell, they turned out to be the Alpha's followers. She recognized the first one to be his beta.
"Bring her out", he gave the order and without reluctance, the two boys with him budged forward and opened Raziya's cell.
Raziya was already on her feet by the time they opened it and she took something steps back, wondering why they'd want to take her away at such time.
But, the boys were not ones to relent. So, they went closer and grabbed her hands.
"Let me go! What do you want with me?!" She snapped but to no avail as the boys took her away with Jerri in front with the lantern.
If it had been just one of them, perhaps, she'd have been able to fight him off, but talking about three people... three strong men; she doubted it.
So, giving up, she just let them do as they pleased despite how irritated she was.
The boys walked her down the dark walkways where she only came across very few people. Of course it was late; everyone ought to be asleep. She didn't know her way around the Palace and didn't know where they were taking her. But shortly, they stopped at a door which Jerri opened and went in first. He returned few seconds later and urged the boys to go in with her. And at that point, Raziya was already beginning to guess where they were.
Her thoughts were confirmed when they walked in and found the so called Alpha in the room, snuffing something in the room.
He was shirtless and backed them as the table was in front of him. The black powder was in front of him and he bent his nose over it and snuffed regularly. What was that? Raziya thought.
They stayed behind him for a long time, no one uttering a word and in the course of waiting, Raziya took a quick look round the room.
It was spacious and neatly arranged, except for the scattered books and papers on the table. And of course, the acrid smell coming from whatever he was snuffing from the table. The room was quite beautiful - she thought. Just that, it belonged to the wrong owner.
"Leave", Alpha Jagger finally said without looking at them, his words being grunted.
Raziya noticed the boys were leaving without her and wondered how sure they were that the Alpha was referring to just them, and not her. What would she be doing all alone in the room with him?
When the door went shut behind her, she felt an heavy shock spasm through her. She looked at the Alpha who was still backing her and engrossed in whatever he was snuffing from the table.
Then, she looked around for any weapon. If she could knock him out, there was a possibility she might escape.
But, she couldn't find any weapon in the room except for a flower vase. Perhaps, she could still make use of it?
But what if the vase doesn't knock him out? Wouldn't that get him angry enough to hurt her more? No; there was no way a man wouldn't be affected by the hit of her vase. Perhaps, she should take the risk. Life was always a risk.
She was about taking the brave step to get the vase when unfortunately, he stood up.
She gulped heavily as she lowered her gaze to the floor and took her hands to the back. Why now?
She bit her bottom lip as she felt him turn and lean on the table, his gaze now resting on her. Raziya couldn't bring herself to look at him, but she could tell he was looking at her.
"How are you enjoying your stay here, Princess?" Her heart leapt when she heard him speak.
No man has ever made her feel that way before - made her feel scared. And that was the reason she needed to find her way out of there as soon as possible.
His question rang in her head, sounding more of a ridicule: but what could she do? Instead, she decided to make use of the opportunity.
"I.. I just want to go home", her gaze was still on the floor. "I want to go back to my family, to my people. I'm sorry for what happened with your gamma. If I could turn back the hands of time, I'd do anything to bring him back".
