The Quest For An Heir

Nailah carefully lowered the food tray containing the food on the table she was grinning sweetly while Alpha Jagger observed her movements he didn't trust Nailah's actions. They had an argument in the afternoon which resulted in him giving her a knife wound yet she was back limping as if nothing happened between them and serving him his favourite food. If this wasn't fishy and suspicious then he didn't know what else would be.

Nailah opened the wine and poured a big amount into a glass cup for Alpha Jagger. Satisfied with what she had done, she sat down beside the Alpha. "Great Alpha Jagger, please eat your meal" she passed the cutlery to him urging him to dig in.

"Taste it" Jagger growled, watching her suspiciously.

"The great Alpha suspects me of poisoning him, why would I do that?" Nailah laughs heartily, muffling it by covering her mouth so it wouldn't make Jagger annoyed.

"Woman, I don't have the time for your antics, taste the food" he growled, already getting angry at Nailah's act.

Nailah picks up the cutlery and takes a bite from all the plates containing the food, chewing them softly. She gulped the wine also. "Hope you see that I didn't poison it" she turned to Jagger who didn't look like he still believed her.

He hesitated for a little bit, he wanted to be sure she wouldn't react and start convulsing the next minute. Then he placed his ring on the rim of each of the plates and the cutlery. The food could be free from poison but not the utensils and when he was sure the ring didn't change colour he dived in to taste the delicious meal set before him.

Nailah was glad in her heart, that her plan was working smoothly. Soon she would produce an heir and then Jagger will have no choice but to make her his mate and she will in turn be a Luna and subdue Dini. she smiled at the thought of that. She was careful to take her fertility potion before coming to serve the Alpha his meal.

Jagger sat eating and drinking his wine oblivious to what Nailah was thinking. He was enjoying the wine and noticed Nailah kept pouring more whenever he emptied the glass. The wine was a fine one. It had a rich taste and it helped him relax after his stressful day. By the time Jagger was done eating he had emptied the wine. He was tipsy so he stood up and moved over to his bedroom. "The meal was good and the wine also. Take back the plates and make sure you leave for your chambers this night" He growled at Nailah.

Nailah was unhappy and disappointed that Jagger didn't even look her way after she had sprayed a scent to attract him to her and removed her upper garments so that she was in her seductive undergarments. she was so sure she had made him tipsy after all her efforts he just walked past her giving an instruction for her to leave. She didn't want to give up on her mission so she followed him into the room.

Jagger lay on his bed, snoring softly when Nailah entered the room. The room was illuminated by candles. Nailah ambled to the bed, laying down carefully next to Jagger and touching him seductively. "Don't you want me as much as I want you tonight" Nailah purred in his ears while he stirred. She reached out to kiss him and then in panic Jagger woke up to see Nailah smiling at him.

"What are you doing here, didn't I ask you to leave?" Jagger growled. "I want you, I can't leave without having you" Nailah cooed, rubbing her hands on Jagger's bare chest. Jagger furiously swatted her hands away from him. He stood up, yanking Nailah up by her hair dragging her out. Nailah cried in pain holding her hair to free herself out of his grip but he was stronger. He ordered her to carry the plates and tossed her out of his door banging the door shut after her departure. He mind linked to his guards stationed at the door to not allow her back in. He strolled back to his room visibly angry but went back to sleep as his head touched the pillow because of the influence of the wine on him.

Raziya was glad she could finally leave the Physician's courtyard. She was examined by the physician who announced she had recovered and was fit to resume normal activities. She was already sick, from inhaling antiseptics and medicines. She just stayed in bed and did nothing except eat, take medications and stroll around the courtyard.

Sara was helpful to her as she was there all the time to take care of her needs, talk with her, stroll with her and also read stories to her till she fell asleep.

She had missed Layla who couldn't leave her duty to come to see her often so Raziya decided to move to the kitchen to see her since Sara had informed her earlier that Layla was busy in the kitchen. She also wanted to resume her duty although she wasn't so happy about it.

She beamed when she saw Layla reprimanding a maid for acting dumb. She liked how Layla was so professional and could handle the entire maids. A leadership quality she admired.

"Oh Princess, you came to see me" She smiled as she noticed Raziya. Raziya looked at her amused, had she forgotten so soon that she was still a maid. "And to report to duty," Raziya added, grinning.

Layla looked confused "didn't you tell her" she questioned Sara who was beside Raziya.

"I'm sorry I didn't, I wanted her to hear it directly from you" Sara muttered. Raziya looked puzzled by Layla. "Tell me what?" She inquired.

Layla turned to Raziya "Alpha Jagger had instructed that you stop working in the kitchen___ " ``Why, what offence did I commit again, is he throwing me into the dungeon again?" Raziya interrupted, alarmed, her face deformed with fear and sorrow.

"No, calm down and allow me to finish" Layla intervenes quickly. Raziya stops rambling and listens to Layla. "Good" Layla remarks as Raziya is silent then she continues talking "The Alpha has instructed that you no longer work in the kitchen, he has arranged a new room for you and Sara will now serve as your new personal maid." Raziya moved her gaze from Layla to Sara who was smiling at her, finding it hard to believe what Layla had just told her because her demon had acted in opposite ways.

"This is too good to be true" Raziya exclaimed. "So what is my new duty?"

"Nothing for now, maybe the Alpha will let you know now go to your new room and settle in, Sara will show you the way" Layla beamed and moved away to continue her duty.

"Come with me Princess" Sara moved away, Raziya following her behind.

Raziya's heart was pumping hard with overexcitement. She grinned, every area of her body was tingling in excitement. Maybe the Alpha was tired of her staying in his kingdom and was willing to ship her back to her parents but wanted her to enjoy her princess privileges first. She was giggling at anybody that walked past her. They looked at her like she had lost her mind but Raziya was in a state of euphoria to notice the stares. Sara looked at her amused at her behaviour.

"We have arrived Princess" Sara announced as she opened a door ushering her into a big room which was three times bigger than the previous room allocated to her.

The room had a big bed stationed in the middle of the room with drapes hanging around it, the floor around the bed was covered in fine rugs, and across was a full-length mirror with a table and chair close to it. The room was sparkling clean and tidy.

Raziya gaped at the room in awe of the room. Her room in her father's house was bigger than it but she was surprised that the room was allocated to her by her demon.

She ran to the bed with Joy and jumped on it with excitement. "Sara I can't believe this" she squealed as she crumpled herself on the bed.

"You have to Princess" Sara giggled as she watched the princess in amazement. This was the first time seeing the princess this excited. She had always had a scowl on her face or a weak smile but this time she was glad. She could see the sparks of Joy in the princess's gold-flecked eyes. She was happy when Layla told her she was going to be the princess's personal maid because she could now have the opportunity to be close to her and attend to her needs.

She carried the bag she had used to put the princess's personal belongings towards the cupboard, putting out her clothes and hanging it properly while she dropped her medications and injury lotions on the table, arranging them in an organized file. She took note to add beauty products that Raziya would need upon Raziya's approval.

A knock came from the door and both Raziya and Sara snapped their gaze to the door. Sara walked to the door and opened it to see the intruder.

"The Alpha summons the princess's presence now" A guard announced as soon as Sara appeared at the doorway.
