Nailah's Mission

The other leaders turned to the leader who had already started speaking to continue so he would take the whole blame since he dragged them into a mess that could cost them their lives.

"That we do not know Alpha but we are working on it and soon we will get progress" The leader confessed anxiously, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

Jaggar rested his hands on his chin, thinking of what to do with the new information. After a long silence, Jagger cleared his throat "Find out what brought the energy here, its mission, just anything you can find out"

"Yes Alpha" The leaders chorused.

"Also, perform whatever you can do to chase this energy back to where it's coming from" Jagger added.

Jagger waved his hands signalling them to leave his presence.

Jerri his beta walked in after the leaders had left.

"Where do you think this energy could be from" Jerri quizzed.

Jagger couldn't think of anything and his wizard power was getting weak, it couldn't even function like it used to which caused him great alarm. "I can't think of anything at the moment" Jagger admitted.

Jerri was stunned at the Alpha's answer he knew him to be a wizard who exudes a lot of powers, so sensing energy and its source was so little for him to handle. Jerri decided to ask further to feed his curious mind.

"what about your wizard powers, doesn't it feel something" he gazed at Jagger searching for answers through his demeanour before he would speak.

Jagger sighed taking his two hands behind his back and looking out of the window. "Nothing, it hasn't said anything neither have I felt the energy"

Jerri's fear increased, he wondered if the Alpha had lost his powers. So he sneakily threw his penknife in the Alpha's direction while the alpha was still backing him, a great force came instantly propelling the knife to the ground.

Jagger turned suddenly facing him chuckling "I haven't lost my powers old friend, no need to fear for me" Jagger patted him on his shoulders reassuringly.

Jerri laughed "Just doing what an old friend can do to save the situation"

Jagger nodded "Maybe the energy is too strong for me since I couldn't feel it" Jagger suggested.

Jerri scoffed "What power could be stronger than the powers of Alpha Jagger the great, the almighty and strong leader of our great pack".

Jerri had a great way to hail the Alpha and put him in the right mood reasons why he still could keep his position as the Beta even with the temper of the Alpha. He was already lifting the worried spirits of Jagger.

"Go over with the leaders of the temple, see that they carry out the exercise that would chase back the unwanted energy from our lands" Jagger instructed.

Jerri nodded and headed out to carry out his duties.

The guards stationed at the door announced Layla's presence and Jagger commanded them to let her in.

"Greetings Alpha" Layla did a courtesy bow in respect to the sovereign power Of Jagger.

Jagger nodded, and he adjusted his posture on his seat "The princess won't be working in the kitchen anymore" Jagger announced his voice hoarse from talking for a long time.

"Arrange a larger tidy room for her and also assign that maid that was a witness to be her personal maid" he added

"Yes, Alpha

"How is the princess doing?" Jagger inquired a little bit concerned about Raziya's well being.

"She is doing tremendously well, her wounds are healing so fast with little pains and she is regaining strength quickly" Layla beamed. she was glad that the princess was okay and finally the Alpha was showing her a little compassion.

"Okay, go back to work" he growled.

Layla left his room leaving the Alpha alone with his thought. Jagger couldn't understand why he was having a soft spot for the princess. he was furious when he heard of the accident that almost took her life, he already had the perpetrators in the dungeon with guards on standby waiting for his orders to eliminate them but he didn't want to start punishment yet. he was waiting for Raziya to get well and fit to witness what he was going to do with the maids. He wanted Raziya close to him because that was the only way he could guarantee that she was going to be safe. He wanted the princess to suffer that's why he had her here but yet he couldn't say if he wanted her to suffer anymore.

Nailah hissed in pain as they dressed the knife wound on her leg. Her blood soaked the clothing used in cleaning up her wounds. she was grateful it wasn't a deep cut so it was easier to clean and dress the wound to avoid Infections.

she knew the Alpha was brutal but she couldn't quantify the gravity of what happened to her. Her body still shuddered at any slight touch. she saw terror in the Alpha's eyes when she had said the princess deserved all and more of what she got. she wondered why he was so brutal to her because of it. she wondered why he was covering up for the sins of a murderer.

She didn't want to give up her revenge for her brother's death, and she won't even if the Alpha threatened her.

"I need to bathe, prepare warm water for me" she barked at a maid as her wound was dressed up neatly and completely.

The maid nodded and ran off to do her job quickly.

After the bath, she came out to her room still soaked with water. She was conscious enough to not soak the affected area of her knife injury and dressing. She limped due to the pain that coursed through her body.

She sat down facing her mirror. She looked at her pretty face and her silky long black hair. She ran a comb carefully on her wet hair so it could dry easily. "Alpha doesn't have a taste for good things, why would he treat a beautiful woman like me unfairly?" she muttered still looking at her mirror.

She ran her hands on her skin moisturising it with her beauty products. "A good skin that is fit for an Alpha's mate yet the Alpha doesn't take a good look at me when I'm in his presence" she mumbled feeling bad at how the Alpha was treating her.

"All I do is love and meet his needs yet he adores Dini and goes to her the more and now that slutty murderer of a princess is seducing her way to his favours" Nailah soliloquized bitterly.

She banged her table scattering some things to the floor. She knew the battle line had been drawn and she needed to fight to take her position with the Alpha. She had spent years nurturing herself for the Alpha she didn't want to back down.

She made sure she had access to all of the beauty routines in the whole pack something Dini couldn't even achieve even if she tried to and yet no results. Nailah was bitter and angry.

Nailah was confused she couldn't think of how else could she meet the Alpha's favour. She even went as far as sending infertility products to Dini without her notice so she wouldn't be able to produce an heir for the Alpha. Nailah wanted to be the only one to produce a heir for the Alpha yet she wasn't getting pregnant for the Alpha.

She stood up from her seat, she found a purple dress her maid had already laid out for her to wear. She wore the dress quickly and headed out to the kitchen struggling to walk.

After much struggle and time, she eventually arrived in the kitchen. When she entered the Kitchen, all the maids that saw her bowed a little in respect to her as the Alpha's concubine. She quickly made her way toward Layla who was busy supervising. "Greetings Nailah," Layla said the moment she noticed Nailah.

'What brings you to the kitchen that you couldn't send a maid?" Layla asked because it wasn't all the time the Alpha's concubines frequented the kitchen.

"Prepare the Alpha's favourite for dinner, I will serve him myself. I want to give him a treat" Nailah instructed Layla calmly.

"Make sure you add some good and strong wine" she added.

"As you wish Nailah" Layla agreed ready to carry out the duties that were given to her. Layla noticed the injury on Nailah's leg but she knew better than not to ask her. Layla presumed it would be the Alpha's doing. A reason why Nailah suddenly wanted to give him a treat with his favourite food and a strong wine to please him and make him mate with her.

Nailah grinned her mission was accomplished and soon she was going to have the Alpha in her arms. She smirked devilishly at her plans. She hoped her plans worked smoothly without any hitch as she sauntered to the physician to take her fertility portion.
