Raziya's Recovery

Jagger stood up from his seat. "Who did that to the Princess?" he growled.

"We met her alone without the perpetrators, Alpha," Layla answered.

"You have my permission to attend to the princess," Jagger instructed. "Make sure she stays alive. Now go quickly."

The moment Layla left him, Jagger began to pace. He knew the people were not happy with Raziya's presence, he knew the people were bitter about his gamma's death and sought to see Raziya's downfall, but they were all scared of his fury to even touch a single hair from Raziya.

He was eager to know the people behind It. Just then, the guards outside announced the presence of his first concubine, Dini.

"Enter," he gruffed as he walked back to his seat. She walked in gracefully and majestically with her head raised high. One thing Jagger liked about his first concubine was how she carried herself in dignity and pride. A wide smile was plastered on her face.

"Now isn't the time to smile, Dini," Jagger reprimanded, looking at her wearily.

"How so? You look tired, Alpha. At least you need some distractions." Her grin was still plastered as she moved straight forward to meet the Alpha.

"Now is not the time for distractions. My sacrifices were rejected, something that hasn't happened before!" Jagger clasped his hands on his chin, closing his eyes to think, making it a cue for Dini to leave. Dini didn't want to leave till she had accomplished her mission.

"What if your sacrifices were not accepted because of the princess you brought from a foreign land? I saw her amongst the maids. She has unusual red hair, so It wasn't hard to notice her." Dini took bold steps to meet Jagger in his seat.

"It doesn't matter if she is a foreigner; was she the only foreigner in the temple or our land? Jagger taunted.

Dini gripped Jagger's shoulders, massaging them gently. The feeling was pleasurable to Jagger. He released a breath and relaxed to Dini's touch, enjoying the moment.

"What if the reason is that she murdered your gamma? It's abominable!" Dini reasoned again.

Jaggar tensed at her words but relaxed. "Dini, you talk nonsense a lot," Jagger replied.

"You have to leave; I need to attend to important things," Jagger added. Dini didn't like how things turned out, and she increased the tempo on his shoulders to distract him.

"Dini, you know I hate repeating myself," Jagger warned.

Dini stopped immediately. She frowned and took quick steps away from Jagger's back. She smiled when she faced him. "Have a good day, Alpha; send for me immediately you need me," she concluded and left the room.

----------------------------------------------------------
Raziya woke up in pain, she looked around her surroundings, but it was strange.

"Finally, you have woken up," a voice startled Raziya. She moved her eyes in the direction of the voice and saw Sara sitting beside her.

"Where am I?" She winced as she tried to sit up but laid back because of the pain.

"You are in the physician's place; you passed out, and we brought you here," Sara answered with Joy. She had been sitting close to Raziya, waiting patiently for her to wake up, not leaving her side for a bit. Layla gave her permission to sit there and wait on Raziya.

"Hold on while I call on the physician so that he can have you examined," Sara added, moving out of the room to fetch the physician while Raziya waited, glancing up at the ceiling.

Sara came back with the physician behind her. Sara took her position by the seat while the physician moved by Raziya's bed. He examined her body and asked questions to confirm his examination.

"How are you feeling?" said the physician, still checking her pulse rate.

"I am fine, but I'm in pain," Raziya admitted.

The physician nodded, expecting her to say something like that. "I will make a portion that will subdue the pains. You need to eat and rest well."

The physician turned to Sara and added, "Quickly arrange something for her to eat while I make the portion."

Sara stood up from the chair and went away to perform her instructions.

"Will I be okay?" Raziya questioned the physician. She was scared of dying, and she didn't want to die yet, at least not in a foreign land. She didn't think her demon would have her conveyed back to her parents.

The physician chuckled. "You will be fine if you take your potions, and you won't die if that is your worry."

"Is the Princess scared to die already?" Jagger's voice boomed with a sarcasm laced in the tone. The physician bowed as he acknowledged his presence.

Raziya sneered, turning her face to the opposite side, and laid down. She couldn't understand why the Alpha couldn't stay in his lane without coming at her.

"How is the Princess feeling?" Jagger probed, assessing her for any body wounds.

"She is responding well, Alpha. Her wounds are healing up swiftly. She is in pain, but I have a remedy for that."

Jagger nodded while the physician excused himself. Jagger dragged the seat that was close to Raziya's bed.

"I have the maids that did this to you in my custody; Sara identified them," Jagger announced.

Raziya turned to face Jagger and declared, "You must kill them at once!"

Raziya was glad they finally caught the filthy and mean maids that put her in bad condition. This was the first time she had wanted anyone dead, she didn't feel remorse, and she meant it till her last breath.

"You don't get to decide their fate," Jagger blustered, rebuking her statement.

Raziya sneered disgustingly, "Would you allow them to live when they touched what belonged to you?" She was trying to make him see reasons so her goal could be achieved. She knew she didn't belong to the Alpha and would never belong to him.

Jagger lowered his gaze to Raziya; he could see her anger. Her veins were prominent, her eyes were red with rage, and her face was masked with a frown.

He leaned towards her saying, "I get to decide whatever I want to do to them, but I will be benevolent to have you there when I carry out my judgment."

Raziya scowled. She wasn't ready to back down yet, "They almost killed me. That is going against you."

"Remember, you are a dead meat to me; it's only a matter of time before I kill you myself," Jagger smirked

"Why don't you kill me now, then?" Raziya snapped, annoyed because she couldn't convince Jagger.

"Don't be too quick to ask for death. I could grant it to you. After all, you killed my gamma, but I have one mission to complete before I send you to the afterworld," Jagger growled, giving Raziya a death glare.

Raziya whimpered in dismay, giving up her squabbles about the maids. She retired to her bed and closed her eyes, faking sleep.

Jagger stood up to let her rest, thinking she was trying to sleep. Raziya opened her eyes the moment she heard the sound of the door closing.

"Grumpy wolf," Raziya muttered.

"I heard that!" Jagger said.

Raziya's stomach growled in hunger. As if on cue, Sara appeared at the door carrying a food tray and shut the door after her.

"What took you so long?" Raziya inquired as Sara dropped the tray of food on the bed.

"I'm sorry, Princess. Layla instructed some maids to make a special meal for you since you are not well and still in pain, so that took a lot of time," Sara muttered.

Raziya nodded while she munched the food. They were too delicious, and her mouth was stuffed with food for her to say anything. She winced in pain as she found it difficult to chew because of her injuries. She wished she could kill the maids that caused her the pain that limited her from savoring the delicious food before her.

"Take it, easy, Princess; the food is not running away." Sara giggled as she watched her devour the food and stuff them in her mouth.

"I am hungry, and these foods are delicious!" she answered.

"I identified the maids that did this to you for the Alpha; I couldn't watch them move freely when they did bad to you," Sara announced quietly.

"I know he told me, while you were away in the kitchen, he came here," Raziya admitted.

"Sara, you did a brave thing by telling the Alpha what you knew; I would have rewarded you handsomely if you were in my kingdom," Raziya beamed at Sara. Sara smiled. She was glad to help the princess and would do It for anybody.

"Maybe you could reward me here, but with another thing," Sara proposed.

"What would that be?" Raziya mumbled, puzzled at what it could be.
