Chapter 43 - The Big Secret

Just as Raymond said, he announced that he found someone to be his Queen the next day. Lilith was still intimidated by the thought of actually being by his side as a ruler of the country but she was glad that he would not be meeting with any more women. In the past, it was not her place, but now that it was, she could show her discontent of the matter. And Raymond seemed to enjoy it very much.

Since there seemed to be no one that was worthy of the King's attention, another wild set of rumors spread across the nation. It seemed like the idea that it could be Lilith was so far-fetched that no one even considered it. When it really mattered, she wasn't seen as someone who could accomplish something that great. Which honestly had her thinking about the petty reasons they tried to torment her. People were likely just taking their frustrations out on her.

Lilith was even stopped in the halls of the castle by people curious as to who the woman was. Of course, most of the people who came were women, demanding to know who in the world could have been better than them. But all Lilith told them was that she didn't even know. She would say that the King would meet up with the person in secret and that she had never even seen her back before. With Lilith, his special servant, not even knowing, the women of the castle presume that the King's lover must be someone great.

And it did not take long for the news to reach Nora as she was in his office before the end of the day.

"Who is she?" Queen Mother burst through the door with the widest smile Lilith had seen on her. It was low-key creepy.

Raymond looked up from his papers. "Who is who?"

Nora stomped her foot lightly. "Don't be smart with me boy. Who is the woman who changed your heart? Is it the person you spoke of yesterday?"

The King nodded. "Yes, it's the same woman."

"And? Who is she? When can I meet her?"

"Please have patience mother. I did not disclose who she was for a reason. She is shy and would prefer to not be named. They aren't ready for such attention yet."

"I don't care. I am your mother. I should be able to meet this girl and tell you if I think she is well suited for you or not."

"It will happen. I promise. But a bit later."

There were endless guesses as to who the person could be, and surprisingly, the biggest guess is actually Lilith. Not Lilith the servant, but Lilith, the mysterious Princess who showed up at the Silver Moon ball. Apparently, people had seen the brief interaction that they had outside the manor and so concluded that it must be the mysterious charming Princess.

People who saw her described her as a diamond glowing under the moonlight. A lone flower among a field of grass. The dress and shoes that Lilith sold to the seamstress were discovered but the seamstress didn't remember what she looked like, so she was safe for now.

Lilith remembered that she had kept the crown and was glad that she did not get rid of everything. In the modern world, the crown she got was fairly nicely made and even had some weight to it, it was worth around a couple of hundred dollars and so she wondered how much it would be worth in the current time period.

When the day came to an end, she dug it out of her bag. She made sure that it was well hidden but not to the point where it could be in a compromising position. She sat on her bed and held it in her hands, remembering the night of fun and loss. Lilith had been so unfairly ripped from her home and forced to adapt as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

It has been nearly a year since she's seen her family, her friends, and her school. Anything that was rightfully hers. The next Silver Moon was in fifteen years. Lilith did not even have a proper plan to get back but she had been too distracted by her current situation to even think about it. If she even was going to get back home. She was not sure how to make it work and was not even sure if she would be able to find the strength to try.

All because of the sudden relationship with Raymond, she is now having doubts in her heart about whether or not she should leave. Lilith knows that is the right thing to do as it would be selfish to all the people she knew if she stayed. Lilith was supposed to stick it out for fifteen years and then try to come up with a plan for the next Silver Moon. If she recreated the scene, if there was another ball on that night then she could be able to get home and hopefully return the time that she left. But that was something she was not sure would be able to happen.

She was sent back in time for a reason, she had to be, and hopefully, if she did what she needed to do then she could go back home. Lilith just hoped that when it came the time to leave, she would.

Raymond and Lilith continued their relationship in extreme secrecy. They never went as far as to go into his room and most of their interactions would be in his office where no one else was. Lilith learned that although he did not say much, he was very touchy and she actually really liked it. He would always find some way to be touching her; rubbing her hip, caressing her thigh, playing with her fingers.

While arranging the papers on his desk, the King took the liberty to place his hand on the back of her thigh. The action made her shiver and almost drop the papers. It was all going good and if she tried really hard, she would be able to ignore the warmth that was spreading across her skin. But then he moved up. He moved his hand slowly as if hoping she could not notice.

"Your Majesty, what are you doing?" She whipped her head to the side.

"Working." Raymond did not even look up to answer her and continued to write on the papers in front of him.

"Well, you do that," Lilith said and took his hand off of her thigh. But her freedom did not last long and he placed it right back. This time, much higher and only a couple of inches away from her butt.

Lilith jumped away from him. Her face was scalding and she smoothed down the back of her dress over and over again, trying to regain some purity. "I'm going to get you lunch."

"It's barely past ten o'clock," he said dryly.

"Then I'll get you some fruits." Lilith moved towards the door. Flustered could not even begin to describe how she was feeling.

"Refreshing."

"Yeah, whatever," Lilith mumbled under her breath and left.

Raymond felt slightly bad for putting her in such a position but Lilith's reaction was definitely worth it. And it was hard for him to keep his hands to himself when she was bent over his desk like that. Shaking his head he tried to focus back on his work. Thoughts like this should come after he finished all the things he had lined up for the day...

Maybe he should make her wear shorter dresses from now on.
