Chapter 62 - The Not So Traditional Way To Take Off A Dress

As gorgeous as Lilith’s dress was, she could not wait to get out of it. It was heavy and hot and not the most comfortable in certain places. It weighed her down and as she walked down the aisle, she got the full extent of how unpleasant it was. There was something rough pricking into her side and it stabbed her every time she took a step. And because of all the fabric, it weighed on her shoulders and she had to put in more effort than she would have liked to keep her posture straight. And above all of that, she still had to be conscious not to step on the dress and trip over it, while she was being cooked alive because of all the layers.

Nora’s arm was looped around her and she walked with her completely unaware of Lilith’s suffering. The Queen Mother could have made the dress like this purposefully to get one last jab at Lilith for marrying her son and that was what Lilith thought but she supressed the idea.

Once she was up at the altar and had Raymond’s hand in hers. It was easier for her to focus on what was happening, but every once in and while she would shift and feel the dress poking into her. Luckily she was able to keep herself from yelping, but only barely.

Her feet were also sore from the heels she was in and Lilith was so tempted to look over at Nora with the dirtiest glare, but she was keeping herself together. Today she was becoming royalty, and more importantly, she was being connected to Raymond through matrimony. Some uncomfortable clothes were not going to stop her.

When it came time for them to exchange rings, Lilith presented Raymond with a gold band with a silver outline that had small jewels around it. She had searched for a while to get the perfect ring for him and when she found the original version of the ring, which was just silver and had the jewels, she knew she had to change it and only then would it be perfect.

The wedding ring that Raymond picked for Lilith, was just a more extravagant version of her engagement ring. He knew that she would not like to wear a bigger jewel on her finger so her just made the ring with more of them. There was a diamond in the middle that was surrounded by smaller diamonds and then the ring was enclosed with purple jewels.

Lilith was not sure how he could have outdone himself this time but he certainly did. To have the engagement and wedding ring on her finger really made Lilith feel more valuable than she actually was.

“Do you want to get out of here?” Raymond asked her with a squeeze of her hand.

They were both looking down at the crowd in the chapel that was clapping for the newly married couple. Standing before them was their King and now the Queen of the country. Someone who was once a servant and skipped through all the ranks of nobility just by falling in love with the right person.

“I would love to. My feet are killing me.” Lilith looked up at him.

“We still have the reception. My mother put a lot of effort into planning out the entire day for us.”

Lilith sighed. “If so then she should not have given me these shoes to wear.”

Raymond glanced away from her for a moment and then his eyes were back on her. “Come on, let's go.”

He pulled her hand as he stepped down from the altar and the both of them walked through the cathedral to the open doors at the end. The applause did not end but only got louder as they got outside. It seemed like hundreds of people were outside hoping to see the King and Queen.

There was a carriage in front of the cathedral waiting for them. It was surrounded by guards so that they could get there unharmed. Once they were in the carriage, Lilith immediately took off her heels and rested against Raymond in exhaustion. She pulled at her dress in frustration and sighed when she could not get it to move even an inch.

“Take this thing off of me. I can’t stand it anymore.” Lilith groaned.

Raymond’s arm was around her waist and she had her head against his chest. “Is it too tight?”

“It’s uncomfortable. I need to change out of this before we continue on with the day. Please, Raymond. Even if I don’t take off the entire thing, at least let me shed a few layers and change my shoes.”

The King smiled. “Of course, my Queen, we can do that.”

The celebrations for their wedding day were going to continue at the castle so it was perfect for them. Once they got there, they had to keep a good face in front of the public, smiling and waving, looking genuinely happy with the situation they were in. But as soon as they were in doors, Lilith kicked off her shoes and the two of them hurried up to Raymond's quarters to get Lilith out of her dress.

“I have no idea what the seamstress did to this dress. She altered it while it was on me, so I have no idea how to get out of it.” Lilith took a deep breath as she tugged at the dress.

“Let me try.” Raymond stood behind her and the two sank into silence as he focused on finding a way out of the dress. “There is a zip, but it seems stuck.” He tugged at the dress a few times. “It also keeps slipping out of my fingers.”

“Would it be bad if I told you to rip it?” Lilith rolled her eyes in annoyance.

“Yes, since I would like for you to keep your wedding dress.”

“For what? Just to admire right? If I have to go through all of this hassle then I’d rather not put it back on again.”

Raymond grunted as he tugged at the dress once again. He was confused as to why someone would create a dress with such a useless zipper. It was barely moving and he was actually becoming tempted to rip it.

“Raymond, maybe we should get someone to help us. Another seamstress to see what the pro-”

*Rrriiiiiippp!*

A deafening silence settled over the room. Lilith held her breath and her eyes widened slowly as the realization of what just happened dawned on her. She felt the absence of Raymond’s hands and the refreshing cool of air on her back where the dress was previously.

“Oh my gosh!” Lilith suddenly barked out laughing and reached around to feel where the dress was ripped.

“I’m so sorry,” Raymond spoke quickly.

She turned around and took in his guilty expression. His hands were still raised as if she was going to try and fix his mistake. “It’s alright Raymond. It was an accident.” Lilith took his hands in hers and rubbed his knuckles. “And now, since it has been ripped, maybe we can make some progress. And it’s not like it can’t be fixed. Right?”

After he agreed to her statement, they were able to squeeze Lilith out of the dress. They definitely ripped it way more as time passed but the two went along as if they did not notice. And once she was finally out of the dress, Lilith was on Raymond’s bed, reveling in her freedom.

Lilith did not really care that she was only in her undergarments and was spread out on the bed but Raymond did. He had the dress gathered up in his arms and placed it down on a chair in the corner of his room before his eyes zoned in on Lilith’s body.

He was taken back at first and looked away out of instinct, but only looked back after he realized that Lilith was his wife now. Her legs hung off the bed and were parted, giving him quite the view of her white underwear. His eyes trailed up her body to her chest, as it rose and fell with her breaths. One arm was on her stomach and the other was behind her head.

Raymond’s cheeks burned the longer he stared at her and he took slow steps toward her. Once he got to the bed, he stood between her legs and looked down at her, completely mesmerized by the curves outlining her body and the way her lips parted as she breathed.
