Chapter 50 - Queen
The castle staff had been stuck at Raymond's manor for months and they hated every moment. There was no one even living there, yet they still had to clean the house and maintain the property. Most of the girls there dreamed of seeing Raymond in passing, but he was off in the castle being the King. There was no reason to stay there, yet no one had called them back.
And that resentment only built when it was announced that he had someone he wanted to marry. Delusions upon delusions began to make their way into the lives of the servants. When they originally went to the manor, they had it all planned out. They would bump into him on the stairs or serve Raymond his food and he would notice their striking and unique beauty and that would be the spark needed to start their epic love story.
But no, he was off in the castle, with his lover, completely ignoring the people at his manor. Many servants believed they could appreciate Raymond better than any woman he would come across. The nobles only wanted Raymond for his money and power, but they... they would cherish him and make him feel loved in all the right ways.
So of course, it was the final straw when they heard they were finally being sent back to the castle, only for Raymond to be going to the manor, alone, with his lover. The news was not received well among most of the servants, and so, fed up and in a rage of jealousy, they decided to stay back and see. They needed to see who the woman was that caught the eyes of the cold-hearted King. Raymond had been in contact with some of the most beautiful women in Creona and he barely gave them a once over. She had to be a Goddess if that was the case.
They hid in the forest behind his house and waited. They could have been noticed to be missing but since there were so many servants there, it was possible for them to slip away.
Although most of the servants were in on what was happening, only six of them were brave enough to be a part of the plan. They would see just who this woman was and if she was really all that people said she was. And if she wasn't, well, who knew?
Of course, there were guards patrolling the grounds, he was still the King, but the servants knew the layout of the house and the perfect places to slip into without too much trouble. They would go at night, get into the house, and then take a look for themselves. Hopefully, they would be able to avoid the King. They could not even think up a possibility as to what he would do to them if they were discovered.
"Come on," A brunette servant smoothed down her apron and then her hair. "It's now or never, they are changing positions. There will be an opening at the back and we can use the darkness to our advantage."
Looking out of the forest, one could see the black mass that was the lake, that blended a little too close to the grass, and then the manor. They would have to move fast if they wanted to get there in time. It was dark and they could barely see each other, but they nodded and left the safety of the trees and went towards the house.
Inside the manor, Lilith and Raymond had just finished having dinner and were now in his office.
"See, that wasn't so bad." She leaned against his shoulder from her position on the desk.
"I would have rather preferred to just watch you do it." The King mumbled as his hands skirted over her thighs.
"There's nothing fun about that." she rolled her eyes and then pushed some of his papers to the side. "Just because you're the King does not mean that you should never cook in your life."
"That's exactly what it means." he laughed a bit.
Lilith snorted. "It's still a basic life still. What if you are one day without your servants, or money or anything. You should be prepared. Never know what could happen."
"But I would still have my wife." he looked right into her eyes when he said that.
Lilith's stomach flipped. *Wife*. Crap, she liked the sound of that. Raymond's wife. No- no, Lilith could not lose focus. She was supposed to be against getting married to him so quickly. They needed to know more about each other first. Even if her heart did weird things in her chest whenever he was close to her.
Raymond furrowed his eyes at her silence and he wondered if he freaked her out with that statement. He knew her stance on this entire thing, but they were kind of in a tricky situation. He would have gone as slow as Lilith wanted if his mother was not so persistent. Damn.
"I'm not going to force you to do anything you don't want to," he told her.
Lilith smiled. "I know. We just need to learn more about each other. I would rather marry you too early than have you be with someone else. Even if that means being stuck together forever."
"That's right." he stood from his chair and loomed over her. "Once I make you my wife, you won't be able to escape me." Raymond placed his forehead on hers. "You would be the Queen of this country and of my heart. Doesn't that sound like something you would want to do?"
Lilith was sure all the blood in her body was in her face now. What was in the air? What had him talking like this? Raymond really was fulfilling all the fantasies of all the people who daydream about finding the perfect man in this era. The Jane Austen fans would be quivering if they experienced or even witnessed this. So that obviously meant that Lilith was not doing much better.
"You make it so hard to say no to you when you look at me like that," she whispered.
"Then don't say no," he grumbled. "Become my Queen."
How long had it been since Raymond and Lilith met each other? He had arrested her on their second meeting and imprisoned her in his home. But someone she ended up working for him, growing closer to him, and damn it, she was falling for him too.
Fifteen years. Lilith could not deny herself for that long. Raymond's heart could change, and if he moved on, or worse, completely closed himself off because she denied him, then she would feel horrible. This was the first time he was opening himself up like this, and Lilith wanted nothing more than to accept.
"I would love to be your Queen, Raymond."
Tomorrow, they would get married tomorrow. It was final. Raymond didn't care. He wanted her in life and he needed to make it permanent as soon as possible. He didn't care what his mother would think or what the people would think. He would have her no matter what.
Warmth spread through his chest and he kissed her, holding onto her for dear life. His hands dug into her hips as he ravaged her mouth. Lilith placed her arms delicately around his shoulders and ran her fingers through his hair. She made a noise that weakened his knees and he leaned forward to keep himself upright. His groin tightened and arousal shot around his body, causing his pores to raise.
He wanted to have her tonight. He needed to have her tonight. "Please," he whispered, sounding pained. "Please."
Raymond ran his hands up her body and laid them on her jaw, holding her head still. He took in the sight of her parted lips and dazed eyes.
Lilith understood what he wanted and she could be lying to herself if she said she was not craving him as well. She wanted him too badly. Lilith always planned to wait for marriage once she knew that she found the right person. But Raymond was everything right in a person and she wanted to give him everything he wanted.
"I want to fuck you."
Lilith's face almost combusted. Her mouth fell open. *Holy shit*. "Mr. Cavill, where did you learn that-"
*Bang!*
Lilith shrieked and jumped in surprise at the sudden noise. She tightened her grip on Raymond. "What was that?" she looked around, suddenly alert.
Raymond was glancing around as well. "I'm not sure."
"It did not sound like a gunshot, more like something colliding with something."
The King nodded and then looked back at her. "I'll be right back, ok?"
Lilith nodded and kissed his cheek. "Just make sure to be quick."
He rubbed her head before leaving the office to investigate. Lilith took a few breaths to calm herself as the sentence he said to her played in her head on loop.
*I want to fuck you.*
Suddenly feeling embarrassed, she got off of the desk and smoothed down her clothes. Hopefully, he would be back soon because Lilith would not be able to ignore the wetness in her underwear forever.
"Well, well, well, look at this. Looks like the King's special servant really is special."
Lilith whipped around at the unfamiliar voice and was suddenly facing the door where a group of women came in. They were maids, she could obviously see from their clothes, and they looked at Lilith worse than all the noblewomen she ever had to deal with.
She got a bad feeling. "You are not supposed to be here." her voice shook a bit.
"Neither are you bitch, and yet you managed to seduce the King when he was alone. And in the same house that his girlfriend is in too. Have you no shame?" Another one stepped forward in the group.
What were they planning to do? Why are they even here? "The King will not be pleased to know that you are here. I suggest you leave before-"
"Oh shut it you whore. Don't act like you have power here. You're nothing more than a servant. Maybe a concubine of you count yourself lucky."
And before she could do anything, the woman had her cornered and overpowered.
