Episode 21.

"You gave me nothing!" she retorted sharply, leaving him stunned. He marveled at her audacity in speaking to him like that. Had she forgotten who he was – the monster, the feared Alpha Dean – or was it because he had allowed her the freedom to speak in his presence?

Dean gazed at her in shock, his facial expression intense, revealing his annoyance. Athena could have chosen to remain silent, knowing she had crossed a line with the Alpha, but instead, she decided to challenge him.

Surprised, he looked at her and took a step closer, a slight, dangerous smile playing on his lips.

"Are you referring to me, Athena? I ask for your pardon!" Dean thundered, his voice deep and filled with anger, his teeth clenched.

"Never!" Athena retorted boldly, also gritting her teeth, showing her anger matched his.

"Wow..." Max mumbled, his expression and body language changing as he crossed his arms and observed them. While his words were inaudible, his actions made it clear that was what he meant.

"I will never apologize for doing what was right to protect what rightfully belongs to me!" Athena stated firmly, her hands pointing emphatically to the floor as she gazed intently at Dean, who continued to look at her in surprise as she asserted herself.

"We have been through so much together! I have sacrificed a lot for you, even willing to lay down my life, and now you want to make another Luna and cast me aside for that thing!" She shouted, only to receive a hot slap on her cheek from Dean.

"How dare you call her a thing!" He yelled, vibrating with anger, while Athena placed her hand on her cheek, tears streaming down her face.

It was truly emotional to see a warrior gamma shedding tears of love for the first time, but Dean remained unmoved.

"You can do whatever you want to me, I won't regret it! But expect me to apologize for doing what I did?" She asked, swallowing hard, while Max stayed quiet, almost as if he wasn't there.

"Never! I would do it again and again if given the chance. I have sacrificed so much for you; you should have made me your Luna instead of choosing someone else and allowing her to disrespect me," Athena yelled, her voice rising, while Dean still breathed heavily.

After hearing Athena's perspective, Dean seemed to calm down, letting out a sigh of relief before turning to Max.

"Lock her up in the dungeon! She stays there until we bring back Elena," Dean ordered, and Max nodded slightly before trying to reach out to Athena, who yelled at him.

"I'll go on my own," she said, then turned her gaze to Dean, looking at him in silence for a moment.

Without uttering a word, she began to walk away, with Max walking alongside her. As they neared the door, Max stopped and glanced back at Alpha Dean.

"What about the girl, Elisa?" Max inquired, to which Dean simply nodded.

"Release her and convey my sincere apologies. I will make amends with her soon. She appeared more trustworthy than anyone I've known," Dean expressed. Max nodded in understanding and took his leave.

"Hurry, we need to visit Mula as soon as possible," Dean called out to Max as he departed with Athena, receiving a nod of acknowledgment in return.

Alpha Mula's Pack.

Alpha Mula and his beta, Ryan, were outside on the veranda of the house, enjoying a moment together, sipping wine and engaging in conversation.

Despite their relaxed demeanor, Mula had his men positioned around the compound, ensuring its protection. He was aware that anything could happen now that the secret might be at risk of leaking, and Dean could appear at any moment.

"You mean you've been planning this all along without involving me?" Ryan inquired, to which Mula simply nodded in agreement without trying to sugarcoat his words or evade the question.

"That's exactly what I did. I kept you out of it because I knew you might dampen my spirits, and perhaps she wouldn't be here with us now. She might still be under Dean's control," Mula explained as he took a sip of his wine. Ryan raised his shoulders in response.

"It's good for you, but I could have suggested a much simpler solution that could have resolved this without stirring up trouble, like you've already done. Now, peace seems to be a distant memory between you and Dean," Ryan remarked, crossing his arms. Mula agreed with a nod, briefly falling silent as he gazed into the distance before returning his attention to Ryan.

"You're right. It's always beneficial to let you mull things over. You excel at planning, but I can't wait around indefinitely for your strategy. You tend to take an eternity to deliver," Mula grumbled, continuing to sip his wine without pause.

He had finished his cup of wine and poured himself another.

"Good things take time," Ryan replied as Mula nodded.

"Well, this was already turning into a bad situation. Alpha Dean still has no clue about this, so peace will prevail as long as he remains unaware of her presence with me," he said.

"And what happens when he does find out?" Ryan inquired, to which he responded with a shrug.

"I'll be ready for him then," he replied, and they both gazed at each other for a moment.

Ryan then shrugged, nodded, and took a sip of his wine.

"Whatever decision you've made, I stand by you. I can see you're happy to have her, and I'm happy for you too," Ryan said, leaving Mula momentarily silent. Ryan suspected something was amiss but chose to wait for Mula to speak.

"Well, Ryan, I'm not as happy as you think, and thanks to you," Mula confessed, catching Ryan off guard.

"Me?" Ryan questioned, puzzled, and Mula affirmed.

"Yes, you. You prevented me from taking her with me that night, and now I regret it deeply," Mula admitted, as Ryan forced a smile and rubbed his head in realization.

"Come on, you and I know that if you had tried to take her with you that night, you could have lost her forever. So, I think you should be grateful to me instead," Ryan responded as Mula nodded in agreement.

"Wasn't that exactly what I said? Thanks to you. Nevertheless, you're right. But my concern now is that she's pregnant with Alpha Dean's baby," Mula expressed, leaving Ryan staring at him, eyebrows furrowed in shock.

"That was too quick for her to be pregnant. Dean only took her in not long ago, so how come?" Ryan pondered aloud. "Well, I think Dean really meant it when he said he wanted to keep her as his last mate and start a family with her. He has never allowed his past mates to become pregnant so soon after taking them in," Ryan remarked as Mula remained silent, casually sipping his wine.

"So... What do you plan to do about the pregnancy? Do you intend to raise Alpha Dean's child for him? That could lead to endless conflicts," Ryan inquired, looking directly at Mula, who simply shrugged his shoulders.

"Actually, I never planned to raise the child. She's not going to give birth to that baby; she will get rid of it," Mula revealed, causing Ryan's eyes to widen.

"And she agrees to this?" Ryan probed further, to which Mula shook his head.

"I never aimed to seek her agreement..." Mula began, but Ryan cut him off, already assuming what Mula might be considering.

"No, no, no!" Ryan exclaimed, pointing his finger emphatically. "Forcing her is a terrible idea, the worst idea..." He was in the middle of expressing his concern when Mula interrupted once more.

"I never said I was going to force her," Mula clarified, pausing briefly to meet Ryan's gaze before swallowing nervously.

"So, how do you plan to convince her?" Ryan inquired.

"I've already deceived her with lies about Alpha Dean's history with his past Luna's. She's already fearful of the pregnancy. I believe that once I'm finished, she will be begging to abort it herself," Mula suggested, causing Ryan to nod in response, though his expression conveyed some doubt about Mula's approach.
