Episode 65.

"You've been losing since day one. I don't see today being any different. Olivia, please drop the case. Don't leave me alone again. I won't be able to bear it. I've already lost so much," Gwen pleaded as Olivia approached her, allowing her to rest her head on her shoulder as they embraced.

"Gwen, it's going to be okay..." Olivia started to say, but Gwen interrupted her with a louder voice.

"Stop saying it's okay. Just promise me you won't go after that case anymore! Tell me it's over!" Gwen yelled, cutting Olivia off mid-sentence.

Olivia took a deep breath, hesitating to respond truthfully to Gwen's demand. She gazed at Gwen, hesitant to lie, before her phone rang, displaying William's name—her father.

She paused, glancing briefly at Gwen before answering the call, moving away to ensure privacy for the conversation with her father. Olivia had kept her supernatural secret closely guarded, not even Adam knowing she was a werewolf; she had always been a secretive woman.

"Hello, Dad," Olivia answered as she picked up the call.

"Olivia, where are you? You haven't been home for days. Are you okay? Where are you?" Her father's voice sounded anxious.

Olivia was taken aback by her father's unusual tone, seemingly filled with panic and fear, making it difficult for her to respond immediately.

After a moment of hesitation, she finally picked up the phone, hearing her father's voice once more. "Olivia, can you hear me?" he asked urgently.

"Yes, father, I'm fine. But you sound worried. Is everything okay on your end?" she inquired, picking up on the concern in his voice.

Ignoring her question, he pressed, "Where are you right now?"

"I'm at my boss's house. Dad, why all the questions? Are you sure you're alright?" Olivia responded, noticing Gwen and Raymond watching her intently from the parlor.

Gwen sensed Olivia's unease as she paced around, assuming it was related to the court case, but she couldn't shake off her own worries.

"Olivia, you need to leave that place immediately and head straight to Dean's pack," her father instructed, causing her heart to race with concern.

Puzzled by her father's unexpected mention of Dean's pack, Olivia wondered if he was in trouble. Any involvement with Alpha Dean usually meant trouble.

As she absorbed her father's words, Olivia was left staring at her phone, her mouth slightly agape, before swallowing hard, trying to comprehend the situation.

"Dad, why are you in Dean's pack? And why do you want me to join you there? Is everything okay?" She asked.

"It's urgent. I'll explain when you arrive, but please come right away," he responded, leaving her to take a deep breath and contemplate his words.

Dean was responsible for the loss of Adam's family, the main reason she lost him. Adam, her mate, was the one she had always dreamed of building a big family with.

She couldn't bring herself to tell him, as people often fear werewolves, unaware that they can also be friendly. She was afraid Adam would reject her, so she kept their mating a secret. To her surprise, Adam chose another woman to marry, causing his current distress – all thanks to Dean.

This is why she avoided Dean at all costs. She knew that getting close to him would only fuel her hatred and might drive her to attempt murder, landing her in trouble.

Upon hearing her father's words, she swallowed hard. "Dad, I'm sorry, but I don't think I can come there. If you want to see me, I'd be glad to meet you at our pack," she replied firmly, and moreover she has an important court case she couldn't miss.

"Olivia, our pack is gone. It's been destroyed. We're among the few who managed to escape," he revealed, leaving her in shock as she glanced at her phone before returning it to her ear.

She wondered what could have happened. Her first thought was that Dean had attacked their pack, but she realized she was mistaken upon hearing her father's continued conversation on the phone.

"Just a few of us managed to escape. We have sought refuge with Alpha Dean for protection. Many werewolves from different packs are heading there now. You should be on your way immediately," he replied, leaving Olivia feeling anxious.

She couldn't comprehend what was happening. If Dean wasn't the issue, then what could possibly be causing all the wolves to seek his protection?

"Dad, what's going on? Could you please tell me?" she exclaimed.

"Now is not the time to explain. Just make your way to the pack, and I will fill you in on everything in person," he said before hanging up.

Olivia felt fear creeping over her as she stared at her phone, glancing over at Gwen and Raymond, who were waiting for her in the parlor.

Realizing she couldn't proceed with the court case, despite her desire to stand up for her rights, knowing that the company was one of Adam's most profitable ventures and it was her responsibility to uphold everything he had worked for in life.

However, the urgency conveyed by her father couldn't be ignored. She decided to abandon the case, considering it already dismissed in her mind, and hurried to the parlor.

"Okay, Raymond, we won't be pursuing that case any longer. I have a more pressing matter to attend to. If possible, the case should be postponed," she said, only to see Raymond nod in disapproval.

"Not possible! You can't just wake up one day and decide the case should be postponed. If you don't attend to that case today, then it's over. You will lose the company," he exclaimed, while she took a deep breath, glancing at Gwen, who stood quietly by her side.

"Alright, just leave it be. You should go home now. As for me, I have somewhere I need to be right now," Olivia said as she reached for her car keys, with Gwen stepping forward.

"Where are you going? What is it?" Gwen inquired, as Olivia gently placed her hand on Gwen's cheek, looking into her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be back," she assured her, planting a kiss on her forehead.

"How do I know you're not deceiving me so you can go to court?" She questioned, not giving Olivia a chance to respond before continuing, "I'll go with you. I want to be there with you."

However, Olivia knew she couldn't allow Gwen to accompany her. Revealing her secret was something she wanted to avoid at all costs.

"Gwen, it's not safe..." Olivia began, but Gwen cut her off with a determined voice.

"If I don't go with you, you might come back here to find me dead, or you may not find me at all," Gwen stated firmly, leaving Olivia in shock.

Seeing Gwen's unwavering resolve and knowing how much she cared for her safety, Olivia realized she had no choice but to let Gwen accompany her.

"Alright, let's go," Olivia agreed, giving in to Gwen's insistence.
