Episode 46.

Alpha Dean's Pack.

"The way the Alpha just took my child away from me is distressing. He doesn't seem to care about my feelings; all he cares about is the baby," Elena said, staring into the distance while still seated in the chair.

Elisa observed her, swallowing nervously. Dean, Athena, and Max were no longer in the dining room; only Elena remained, probably still eating.

Athena and Max had left for the errand the Alpha assigned, while Dean must have taken Junior from her and left the dining room. This was likely why Elena was upset and the baby was not with her.

Elena, not receiving a response from Elisa, turned towards her. "I'm talking to you!" she exclaimed, causing Elisa to widen her eyes slightly.

"My Luna, I'm just your..." Elisa started, but Elena interrupted her.

"You should know by now that you mean more to me than just a friend. Come on, have a seat here," Elena said, gesturing to a chair for Elisa.

Although hesitant at first, Elisa, being asked by the Luna, reluctantly took the seat offered to her.

"Elisa, you have always shown wisdom in various situations. I've noticed something special about you when you speak; there's something within you. I'm not sure what it is, but you shouldn't merely be an Omega," Elena expressed, while Elisa averted her gaze, swallowing nervously.

"The Alpha has promised to make me a scout of the pack," Elisa informed Elena, who shook her head with a hint of a smile on her face.

Elisa couldn't comprehend what was amusing to Elena, so she chose to remain silent. Elena's expression was not so much laughter as it was a disapproving smile.

"Elisa, you are much more than a scout, Dean doesn't know you well... you would make a good beta wolf," she said, leaving Elisa gazing at her in shock.

Elisa was already confused by her statement. She didn't understand what she was saying because there was no way Elisa was supposed to be the beta wolf, and there was no possibility of it happening. She didn't even belong to the pack; she was brought into the pack by Dean. So hearing Elena make that statement made her shake her head in disagreement.

"You know that was never going to be possible," she responded.

"Yeah, because we all think so. But deep down, we have always wanted a time where every voice in the werewolf world would be heard," Elena replied, while Elisa pondered for a while but didn't quite grasp what Elena was saying.

"I don't understand... my Luna, you're speaking in riddles," Elisa said, to which Elena smiled briefly before pushing the plate of food towards her.

"You must be hungry," she said, as Elisa stared at the plate for a moment, blinking.

"No, it's not time for us to eat yet, and I shouldn't be eating here. You know the consequences," Elisa stated, and Elena shrugged her shoulders.

"You see...? That's what I'm saying! Why should Dean, Max, Athena, and I eat while the rest stay hungry, waiting for a particular time?" Elena asked.

Elisa had no response to that question, but she was starting to understand the point Elena was making.

"And now me... I think I'm the Luna, but the Alpha has my child, not allowing me to hold my baby for two minutes before taking it back. He cares less for me," Elena said, caressing her fingers and looking at Elisa, who was also paying attention to what she had to say.

"I'm just like you and every other omegas here. What makes me different is just the Luna title. Without it, I'm just a prisoner here. If I may ask you, if you were in my shoes, what would you do?" Elena inquired.

Elisa averted her gaze, sensing the weight of the question. It seemed like Elena was searching for specific words from her, words that could potentially lead to trouble.

"Well, if I were you, I'd lay low and avoid discussing such matters with anyone. You never know who might be listening in. The walls have ears," Elisa advised, causing Elena to ponder in silence for a moment.

"Thank you," Elena said, breaking the silence. Elisa nodded, got up, and began clearing the plates from the table.

As she tidied up and wiped down the dining table, Elena observed her quietly until she finished. Just as she was about to leave the room, Elena halted her with another question.

"The dungeon, the cell... Do you know who is responsible for overseeing it?" Elena inquired, prompting Elisa to turn and regard her thoughtfully.

Initially taken aback by the question, Elisa considered why Elena would ask such a thing. However, she decided it wasn't her place to dwell on such matters.

"I haven't noticed anyone in particular. I would guess it's likely Max, but ultimately, I believe it's the Alpha who supervises the cell," Elisa responded before Elena acknowledged her answer with a nod and left the dining room.

Adam Kindle's Home.

In a new day's light, Olivia and Gwen awoke, finding comfort in each other's embrace during the night.

As morning broke, they shared a peaceful moment in the bathroom, then dressed and headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast together.

Olivia had decided to take the day off work, having made the necessary arrangements beforehand. She wanted to be there for Gwen, knowing she possessed a resilient spirit.

Although Olivia could have suggested they go to work together, she understood it might not be the best time to ask Gwen, still dealing with her own troubles. Instead, she chose to stay by Gwen's side at home.

While cooking together in the kitchen, Gwen reminisced about the past, "The last time I shared a kitchen with another woman was when I was a child cooking with my mother," she smiled, slicing onions as Olivia was busy adding ingredients to the pot.

"I know that must have been an extraordinary experience. I wish I could have that feeling even just once," Olivia expressed, causing Gwen to pause from her work and look at her with surprise.

The statement carried a weight that couldn't be easily dismissed.

"You didn't grow with your mum? Or she never let you into the kitchen with her?" Gwen inquired, while Olivia took a deep breath, focusing on Gwen as she leaned against the table, arms folded.

"My mother passed away when I was a young child. I was raised by my father, who also never allowed me in the kitchen when I was young. I only learned to cook when I lived with my aunt," Olivia explained, causing Gwen to shake her head, looking genuinely sorry.

"I'm sorry about your mother," Gwen offered, to which Olivia nodded, taking another deep breath.

"That's all in the past now," Olivia replied, returning to her cooking.

"What happened to her?" Gwen asked, causing Olivia to pause. It seemed like a painful memory for her.

"I'm sorry if I brought up something you didn't want to remember," Gwen said, watching as Olivia shrugged her shoulders, letting out a sigh.

"Don't worry about it. It's just that I can't even remember what my mother looked like. I don't recall ever being with her; she passed away when I was a child, a victim of nature," Olivia shared.

"I'm truly sorry. I lost mine when I was an adult, in a very tragic manner. I tend to avoid talking about it because that day, I lost my entire family. I was the only one who survived," Gwen revealed, causing Olivia to pause and look at her, realizing she had endured a deeply painful past.

If that's the case, her husband shouldn't have left her. What if she loses him too?

"I'm truly sorry. It seems we both have experienced the harshness of the world. It looks like we have some things in common," Olivia said. Suddenly, a knock was heard at the door, signaling the arrival of a visitor.

"Did you expect someone?" Gwen inquired, to which Olivia shook her head.

"Then who could be knocking?" Gwen pressed, while Olivia merely shrugged.

"We should go check it out," Olivia suggested, and they both made their way to the door.

Upon opening the door, they were greeted by two unfamiliar men standing outside.

"Good morning. Are you Mrs. Gwen and Olivia?" one of the men asked, causing Gwen and Olivia to exchange puzzled looks before responding.

"Yes, you've come to the right place. How can we assist you?" Olivia replied.

"We are part of the group that accompanied your boss on the expedition. We regret to inform you that he did not make it back, we can't say he is dead but we lost in the forest. We are truly sorry," they explained, leaving Olivia in a state of shock, her heart sinking.

"My husband, Carlos! Where is he?" Gwen exclaimed, her heart racing.

"Mr. Carlos was on the boat returning home, but he was deeply affected by the loss of his friend, Adam, he believed, of course we all believed Adam is dead. Despite our efforts to console him, he jumped into the river, and we were unable to locate him," the man revealed.

"We are sorry about that too" He added.

"No!!!!!!!" Gwen let out a piercing scream, overwhelmed with grief.
