Episode 47.

Gwen wept bitterly, her eyes brimming with tears that flowed like a river, unable to be contained.

Olivia, though also filled with sorrow, paled in comparison to Gwen's anguish, feeling the weight of despair pressing upon her.

Sitting on the floor, they wept together, the unexpected turn of events leaving them both shattered.

"I warned him not to go! I pleaded with him, and yet he chose this path! How could he leave me, knowing he was my everything?" Gwen's voice quivered with bitterness, her gaze meeting Olivia's tear-filled eyes.

Sobs wracked them both uncontrollably. "Gwen, it's going to be alright," Olivia murmured, her hand resting gently on Gwen's back as she tried to offer comfort.

"How can it ever be alright? Look at me! This is who I am now! Everything I held dear is lost! Tell me, why should I continue living?" Gwen's words were filled with despair, her face buried in her arms.

Olivia's voice rose sharply, cutting through Gwen's despair. "Please, don't speak like that. I implore you, never speak those words again! You have a future to live for, as do I," she said, wiping away Gwen's tears with a gentle touch.

"What future am I living for? After losing my first child, I couldn't bear another. What purpose do I serve in this world?" Gwen's pain echoed in her question.

"Gwen, listen to me!" Olivia's voice held a note of urgency, realizing Gwen's thoughts were drifting too darkly towards thoughts of death.

In situations like this, it can feel so overwhelming that one might consider the unthinkable.

Olivia, sensing Gwen's distress, embraced her tenderly and reassured her, "No matter how tough it gets, remember, taking your own life is never the answer. It's a wasted life, and we've both been through enough already. We just have to stay strong and persevere together."

Alpha Dean's Pack.

Minerva stood outside the house, lost in thought, her mind swirling with a myriad of thoughts.

She had been behaving this way for some time now, and people like Jared had noticed. However, she refused to confide in anyone, keeping the problem to herself.

Alone with her thoughts, she increasingly felt the urge to escape from the pack to have her child and then return with the baby, much like Elena had done in a similar situation, although Elena's case was kidnapping issue.

"Having troubles these days?" a voice interrupted her reverie. She turned around to see Alpha Dean, cradling his baby in his arms.

She quickly lowered her head. "My alpha," she murmured softly.

"I've noticed you in this state for some time now, and there have been reports that you haven't been fulfilling your usual duties here," Alpha Dean remarked, causing Minerva to falter.

Uncertain of what to say, she nervously fidgeted with her hands. "Um, yes, that's because I haven't been feeling well lately. I apologize, but I will resume my work immediately," she said before hastily leaving his presence.

Dean watched her go, a hint of suspicion crossing his face as he swallowed, pondering her abrupt departure.

"Wait a minute!" He called out to her just as she was about to rush into the house. She immediately halted and turned towards him.

"Once you're inside, please ask Jared to come see me right away," he requested, to which she nodded before leaving.

He then stood outside, gazing at the baby, and began to sing to him. The child was growing so quickly that it was hard to believe he was only five days old. The baby was undeniably adorable, the epitome of cuteness.

As he continued to admire and sing to his baby, Jared walked in.

"Alpha, you sent for me?" Jared inquired, and Dean simply nodded.

"Ah, Damian! Walk with me," he suggested as they strolled down the pack's corridor, engaging in conversation.

"You've been here in the pack for some time now. How has your experience been? If someone were to ask you to describe your alpha, what would you say?" Dean inquired, causing Jared to take a deep breath.

When conversing with the Alpha, one must choose their words wisely, so Jared composed himself before responding.

"I would describe you as a strong and brave leader. You are truly unique, and I can confidently say that I am content here," Jared declared, prompting a small smile from Dean as he gazed at him.

"Can you honestly say I'm oppressing you?" He asked, while Jared vigorously shook his head.

"I don't see anything wrong with treating omegas as omegas. Yours couldn't be any different," Jared replied. This statement made Dean pause, his eyes widening as he stared at Jared.

"So, you're suggesting... I used to mistreat all the omegas?" He inquired, to which Jared promptly denied.

"No, that's not what I meant. I was just trying to say that you are doing a lot of good here by protecting us and more," Jared explained, while Dean stared at him intensely. Jared shifted his gaze to the floor, thinking he had upset Dean, but to his surprise, Dean smiled and patted him on the shoulder as they continued their stroll.

"I like you, but I admire your courage the most. I must ask, how do you feel about becoming the scout of the pack?" Dean questioned.

"I'm grateful that you see potential in me. I feel truly honored because this is what I have been hoping for. I want to confront new challenges in my life, and now I have the opportunity. I can't thank you enough," Jared expressed. Dean was genuinely impressed by his words, nodding in agreement.

"You speak like an ambitious person, and I see that in you. I need wolves like you by my side. I'm confident you require no further training, so I will appoint you as the scout," Dean declared. Jared beamed with happiness, kneeling in gratitude before him.

Jared's heart swelled with anticipation as he realized he was no longer confined to mundane tasks as an errand boy. A new chapter awaited him, one that promised to elevate him beyond the borders of his pack, offering freedom akin to a bird released from its cage.

What made this adventure even more thrilling was the prospect of sharing it with the girl of his dreams. This opportunity seemed like a gift, a chance to spend more precious moments with Elisa.

"Thank you, Alpha. I am eager for this challenge. We will strive to make you proud, I give you my word," Jared expressed, his eyes shining with happiness.

"We?" Dean's puzzled expression prompted Jared to pause, puzzled himself. Why was Dean surprised at the mention of "we," considering he had assigned both him and Elisa to this task?

"I... I assumed it would be Elisa and me," Jared remarked, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

"No," Dean shook his head firmly. "Things have changed. Elisa now has a different role by Luna's side," he explained, dampening Jared's spirits.

Disappointment crept in as Jared realized he would not have Elisa by his side on this journey. The joy he had felt moments ago dissipated, replaced by a sense of longing. The prospect of being away from her dulled his excitement about the mission.

Despite his inner turmoil, Jared knew he couldn't refuse the offer outright, aware of the potential consequences.

"It seems you will be leading this task alone, but you won't be without support. I have faith in your abilities," Dean reassured, prompting Jared to muster a fake smile, masking his inner conflict.

"Thank you," he said.

"But before that, Jared, you have a small test to complete before I fully accept you as a scout wolf," Dean said. Jared listened attentively, eager to hear the details.

"You will be responsible for Minerva. Keep a close watch on her, stay informed about her activities, provide me with regular updates, and ensure she doesn't leave the pack for any reason," Dean instructed. Jared felt puzzled by this directive, unable to grasp the reason behind Dean's request.

Despite his confusion, Jared refrained from questioning the Alpha's decision and simply nodded in agreement.

"Understood, my Alpha," he replied. Dean then gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

"You may go now, but remember, this conversation stays between us," Dean reminded him. Jared nodded respectfully, bowing slightly before exiting Dean's presence.
