Olivia stepped out of the house and noticed a figure sitting under the flower tree with their back turned towards the house.
She squinted, trying to make out who it was, but their face was obscured and the dim light of the day made it difficult.
Approaching cautiously, she hesitated to get too close, keeping a small distance between them.
"Hello," she called out softly, and the figure turned towards her upon hearing her voice.
"Adam!" she exclaimed in shock as she recognized him, and he rose from his seat with a smirk, facing her.
Overwhelmed with joy, she rushed towards him and embraced him tightly.
Placing her hand gently on his cheek, she kissed his lips tenderly. "Is it really you?" she inquired, met with a mysterious smile from him as his eyes shimmered like the moon.
Sensing a sudden fear, she attempted to retreat, but he gripped her hands firmly. "No, it's not me!" he growled in a deep voice, transforming into a wolf and sinking his fangs into her neck, draining her of her blood before leaving her lifeless on the ground.
Olivia jolted awake with a scream, her heart racing as she realized it was just a nightmare. Gasping for breath, she looked around, noticing the break of dawn, confirming it was morning, and she was safe in her bed.
Glancing beside her, Olivia noticed Gwen, who was also awake, gazing at her. she took a deep breath, briefly covering her face before letting out a sigh. "It's just a dream, nothing more."
"What's wrong? You were mumbling in your sleep. Nightmares bothering you?" Gwen inquired with a concerned expression. Olivia responded by kissing her softly on the lips, then stood up from the bed and put on her pants.
"It was just a nightmare, Gwen. I'm fine," Olivia reassured Gwen, who continued to look at her expectantly, waiting for details about the nightmare.
Since Olivia dismissed it as just a nightmare, Gwen decided not to dwell on it and laid back on the bed.
Olivia then reached for her phone. "Oh no!" she muttered as she saw she had 13 missed calls from her new manager.
She had hired him to oversee her business while she recovered from a recent loss at home. Seeing 13 missed calls from him wasn't a good sign. Whatever prompted the manager to call her that many times in a morning couldn't be great news, but hopefully, it wasn't too serious.
"Is everything okay? What's wrong?" Gwen asked, noticing Olivia's troubled expression.
"It's nothing, just my manager calling me 13 times today. I hope everything is fine," Olivia said as she dialed him back.
"Don't stress too much about it," Gwen tried to reassure her before Olivia's voice cut in.
"Hello," Olivia said, motioning for Gwen to be quiet so she could take the call, sensing it was important and required her full attention.
"Good morning, boss. I've been trying to reach you for a while," her manager replied.
"My apologies, I was asleep and missed your calls. I'm here now though. Is everything alright?" Olivia inquired.
"No, it's not okay," the manager responded, causing a concerned look to pass between Olivia and Gwen.
Gwen moved closer, curious about the situation at hand.
"What's wrong?" Olivia asked.
"It's our company in the east, the technology production firm. It's been seized," he explained, leaving Olivia wide-eyed in shock.
The concept of the company being seized was beyond what Olivia had anticipated. She had been bracing herself for other possibilities, like a workplace accident or fire, but this turn of events caught her off guard.
Who could have seized the company? Olivia knew that all their companies were government-licensed, often collaborating with the government on projects involving weapons, aircraft, phones, and automobiles.
The idea that their company had been seized had never crossed her mind.
"I don't understand. Who exactly seized the company?" Olivia asked, placing her hands on her waist as she exchanged surprised glances with Gwen.
"Some men dressed in black suit came today with papers claiming that the CEO had failed to comply with a deal they said he signed, and as a result, the company now belongs to them," the manager explained, leaving Olivia feeling confused.
She took a deep breath, sitting on the bed to calm herself and understand the situation before deciding her next steps.
"Let me make sure I've got this right. These men seized our company based on a deal they claim to have with Adam?" she sought clarification.
"Yes, boss," the manager confirmed, while Olivia sadly nodded in response.
"What are the names of these men? What is their company name, and what was the deal they mentioned?" She inquired.
"They said they are from Tech Adventure company and that the deal involved billions of dollars..." the manager began, only to be cut off by Olivia.
"Stop right there and call the police. They are lying!" She exclaimed. She had never heard of Tech Adventure company during her time working with Adam, let alone any deals he had with them.
"They already have the police with them," the manager replied, leaving her stunned as she stared at the phone, a brief bitter smile crossing her face.
"Seriously? Okay, I'll be there in a few seconds," she replied before hanging up the phone. She was taken aback by the audacity of the criminals who had apparently involved the police.
She knew Adam well enough to be certain that he wouldn't agree to any deal without consulting her first. She always reviewed such deals before he signed them, offering her opinion on whether to proceed or not.
The fact that she was hearing these names for the first time and they were claiming a deal was enough to convince her that they were criminals. However, before she could make any judgments, she needed to meet them in person and see the deal that had been signed.
After ending the call, she hurried to the bathroom for a quick shower, got dressed, and jumped into her car, ready to head out.
"Let me come with you," Gwen requested, to which she smiled and shook her head, sharing a simple kiss with her.
"Gwen, I'd love to have you with me, but this is a challenging situation I'm facing right now. I need to focus. Don't worry, you can come with me another time," she explained, and Gwen nodded in understanding.
"I understand," Gwen replied, taking a step back as Olivia started the car and drove off.

Alpha Dean's Pack.
Dean stood outside the house, this time without Junior in his arms. The little baby was probably still being fed by his mom; it was very early in the morning.
His face wore a bitter expression as he gazed at nothing. Shortly after, Jared appeared and bowed his head slightly in acknowledgment.
"You called for me, alpha?" Jared inquired, meeting Dean's angry stare.
"Where is the person I asked you to look after?" Dean's tone was stern.
"I believe Minerva is inside. I will go call her for you," Jared replied, feigning ignorance about Minerva's absence. He then hurried inside, leaving Dean watching him intently.
"Just three seconds. Ensure she accompanies you when you come out here, or you won't like what happens this morning," Dean's voice carried a weight of seriousness that was unmistakable.
Jared, feeling a sense of fear, nodded in response to his threat and headed inside. Confusion clouded his thoughts as he grappled with the realization that he will return without Minerva. Despite this, a glimmer of hope remained that he would miraculously find her inside upon his arrival.
