Difficult

"Did you see the boss's new Secretary?" One said, "She's so hot."

"Mehn, I could eat her like a bag of chips." The other replied.

I was up in the elevator, on my way to my office when those two perverts had this conversation not minding the presence of a lady in the elevator. The elevator stopped and they stepped out of it and I remained inside, feeling no less better than when they were in. Why did the air suddenly seem so heavy? I tried in vain to fan myself.

"Mélie Shapman, I need feedback on the documents sent in from H.R.A on my desk immediately." Damien Jaeger requested over the phone and hung up immediately.

I heaved a sigh and rose to my feet. He didn't come home yesterday after telling me to cancel his weekend schedule. I wondered why. Grabbing the document in my hand, I headed to his office accompanied by the sound of my heels tapping against the floor.

I opened the door and my eyes fell on a feminine figure blocking the image of Damien Jaeger from sight, "Here's the feedback you asked for...sir." I said that last word with hesitation, still staring at the woman in front of his desk.

That golden hair looked awfully familiar. Finally, she turned to look at me. Her sharp eyes pierced into me without saying a word and put me on alert as she studied me from head to toe.

I drew my attention from her and turned to Damien Jaeger, "The feedback you requested for."

"If your hands are of good use, you'd drop it on the desk." He said with a tone laced with irritation.

"Here it is, sir." Lizzy Gold spoke for the first time. Her voice was sharp- like her eyes.

She walked beside Damien Jaeger and bent close to his shoulder, fingering the document she was showing him. Her large boobs were brushing over his shoulder and he didn't seem to notice. Should he eventually notice, his eyes would meet a pair of exposed cleavage in the outline of her tight top. This made me turn red with anger.

I gave Lizzy Gold a side eye before looking back at Damien Jaeger who refused to acknowledge my presence. Dropping the document on his desk, I stormed out of the office without waiting to be told to leave.

"Mmmmmh, these lamb chops are so good!" Rachael moaned as she munched on her meal. With the huge lump of meat still in her mouth, she flushed it down with a glass of orange juice.

"They're delicious." I admitted, taking a bite of the meat on my plate. Rachael and I were having lunch at Britney's Brunch, the same restaurant we ate with Ken just a few days ago. Luckily, Ken wasn't eating with us today.

"I thought you prefer doughnuts." Rachael teased and laughed with a mouth full of meat.

"I prefer some lamb chops on this fine day." I joked and she laughed some more.

"You've seen Damien Ja...I mean the boss's new Secretary?" The question bolted out of my mouth without my control.

"Uhm, yeah. Lizzy Gold." Rachael said. Then suddenly, her eyes sparked with mischief. She swallowed her food, "Wanna hear something crazy?"

"What?" I asked, bracing myself for what she was about to say.

"Rumour has it that she's here to win over Damien Jaeger and get married to him."

I hadn't realised when I released a loud scoff. Rachael's eyebrows shot up, "You think I'm making stuff up, don't you?"

"I'll let you in on this." She continued, "She's been married twice- and all her exes are famous millionaires."

"I'm sure she doesn't even need this job. Her next target is definitely Damien Jaeger."

She had concluded her story so casually and continued digging into her lamb chops while I felt a heart attack building inside of me.

So the brushing off the boobies against Damien Jaeger's shoulder was an intentional, well-planned move, huh?

Another Ella and Stacy. I thought. Except this one has already achieved her goal twice in the past.

"What are the names of her ex husbands?" I was about to ask when a familiar voice called from behind us.

"Ken!" Rachael yelled, excitedly. I groaned.

"What's up ladies?" Ken asked, taking a seat beside me, "Hello Mélie."

"Ken." I nodded.

"I was just telling Mélie about that new Secretary." Rachael chirped.

Ken let out a hearty laugh, "You mean the exceptionally gorgeous Lizzy?"

Urgh. I grumbled inwardly. Not him too.

"Don't exaggerate." Rachael whined, "She's not that pretty."

Ken chuckled, "That's not what everyone else is saying."

"Bunch of perverts." I sneered and quickly loosened the expression on my face to avoid giving away my anger.

"I think you're right, Mélie." Ken said.

"Of course she's right.." Rachael said. Not once did she look at either me or Ken as she continued eating. Who could have thought that Rachael was such a foodie?

"No one can be more beautiful and breathtakingly gorgeous than you, Mélie." Ken said. His eyes fell on me and I suddenly became alert with a strong feeling of deja vú.

"Uhm, I better return to the office." I said, standing on my feet, "I've got loads of mails to attend to."

"Sure." Rachael said.

"See you later, Mélie." Ken said, tenderly.

"See you." I replied and strode out of Britney's.
