Vacay at the mansion

"Another business trip?!" I almost screamed.

Damien Jaeger sighed, "Yes, my love. Another business trip."

I grumbled inwardly with a frown on my face. These trips were getting more frequent and I couldn't think of staying in the mansion with Derrick, "Is your brother coming with you?"

Damien Jaeger hesitated for some time, "No."

It was my turn to sigh, "How long will you be away?" I asked.

"I'll be away for another week."

"Seriously, Damien…"

"I'm sorry, but this trip is very important." Damien Jaeger slowly interrupted. I looked at him, feeling calm as I stared into his tender eyes, "I would have loved to take you with me but…"

"It's fine, I understand." I cut in. My lips curled into a half smile, "I guess I'm back to staring at my window all day then."

"Won't you wear that nightdress again, my love?" Damien Jaeger teased. Pulling me closer into his chest, he continued with a naughty expression on his face, "Or you could try some Victoria's secret."

"This one will require you to wait patiently in the bedroom though!" He threw me a wink and I lightly slapped his cheeks, giggling like a shy bride.

"Well, are you ready?" He asked.

I nodded a reply, already dressed for the office in a green silk pencil skirt and a long-sleeved bohemian styled top of red, blue and green patterns.

I picked up my hand bag before sliding my fingers into Damien Jaeger's, "Shall we?" I asked.

Damien Jaeger chuckled, "Of course."

"Babesssss, are you for real?!" I screamed into the phone.

Trisha giggled excitedly, "Yes!"

"Oh, I just can't believe this!" I said for the hundredth time, "I mean your boss just woke up one morning and granted you a week off for vacay, including an allowance?"

"Honest!" Trisha replied.

I squinted my eyes as if she were looking at me, "Trish?"

"What?"

"Is your boss in love with you?"

"What, noooooo!" Trisha screamed at my accusations, "He's just being nice."

"I'm like the star student, you know." She said, "But in my case, it's work and not school."

"Darcy's gonna be so happy!"

"You know what, I'll come pick you up myself." I said, "Your car might not be allowed in, it's a restricted area."

"Sure!"

I rose to my feet as the line went dead. It was already 4 pm. Thankfully, I had already attended to most of the important documents. I quickly picked up the office line and dialled up my new assistant, "Kate, there are some files I'll need you to pick up for Matrix." "Yes, immediately." I said and pressed down the landline.

"Mélie!" Trisha cried, "You didn't tell me that you are living in a castle!"

I laughed, "You sound just like Darcy."

"Well, of course I would. She's my baby."

"God, stop it!" Trisha screamed once again, her eyes bulging more than it already was, "Does Damien Jaeger sell exotic sports cars?"

I had to laugh, "Of course not, Trish!" "You know, I thought the same thing when I first saw it."

I parked my white Porsche behind a black Bentley and got down from the car. Trisha followed, feasting her eyes on the surroundings, "That water fountain ate!" She exclaimed.

"How many times do you take a swim?"

Come to think of it, "Never." I replied.

Trisha didn't look like she heard me as she continued staring at the mansion and its surroundings, making remarks every 3 seconds. We finally entered the mansion and it was an entirely different reaction as Trisha froze, gawking at the luxurious interior, "Wow!" She exclaimed again.

"Sharon, Hank!" I called and almost immediately, Sharon ran in. The butler followed and they greeted in unison, "Can you please take this luggage upstairs?" I asked, pointing to the 3 suitcases Trisha brought to stay with me for a week.

"Take it to one of the brightly coloured rooms. Trish doesn't like dark rooms." I added. Sharon and Hank grabbed the luggage and vanished into the elevator and I dragged Trisha's arm, drawing her attention from her survey.

"It's beautiful!" She remarked once again.

I chuckled, "Want a tour?"

"Oh, I'd love to!"

I slid my arm into hers and led her through the passageway, taking her through the dining hall to the kitchen, the pantry, the gameroom, a second living room, the winery (Where she gulped down an entire bottle of liquor!), down to the indoor theatre, to the indoor pool, a large party area, down to the gigantic library.

"So this is where you became the sleeping beauty, huh?" Trisha teased as we walked into the library, "Not bad!"

I could sense that she was getting tipsy, "You wanna go shower or something?"

"Or something." Trisha replied and I laughed, "I think I've had a bit too much of that liquor."

"I didn't even check the alcohol content!" She added, hitting her forehead with her palm, as if reprimanding herself for her clumsiness.

"You'll be fine, Trish!" I said, "I'll show you your room."

We walked out of the library and headed to the elevator. A familiar figure caught my eyes and I cussed.

"What's up?" Trisha asked, when she heard me. Her eyes traced to what I was staring at and hers momentarily grew larger than normal, "Derrick!"

"Oh, Trisha!" Derrick exclaimed as he sighted us, "What a pleasant surprise." He said with a smirk.

Trisha squeezed her face at him, "Indeed."

Derrick chuckled, "What brings you here?"

"Why? Can't I come see my best friend?" Trisha asked, spitefully, "The last time I checked, this isn't your house, it belongs to her husband."

"Thankfully, you're not him." She added in a lowered voice, but maintained a tone that could be heard.

Derrick let out a dry laugh, "I can see you've had one of those strong liquors in the winery?"

"And if I didn't, I would have had the strength to throw a slap across your face, thanks for noticing!" She replied with much needed sarcasm.

Derrick threw her an annoyed glance and flashed me a look. And without saying anything else, he walked past us.

"Asshole!" Trisha cussed and turned to me, "How do you even deal with him?"

I sighed, "I don't know."
