Memo

"Good morning, my Queen." A husky voice rang into my ear as a bright ray of light hit my eyelids.

Uhhhm!" I grumbled in protest and covered my face with the duvet. The duvet rolled down my face and I felt a warm hand on my cheek. Slowly, my eyes parted open to look at the most handsome man they have ever seen.

"Damien." I said in a raspy voice.

He smiled at me, "Good morning, my love."

I blushed and took my eyes from him. Darcy was still asleep.

"What's that wonderful smell?" I said and sat up as my nose absorbed the mouthwatering smell of bacon, waffles, pancakes and other dishes.

"Breakfast in bed?" He said and picked up a tray of food from the side drawer.

I cried with joy, "Oh my God, Damien, the breakfast looks so good."

"I know right?" "Made it myself." He added with pride and my eyebrows shot up.

"No you didn't."

"No I didn't." He said and laughed. His laughter was light and throaty and I couldn't hide my amusement.

He sat down beside me and picked up a pancake smeared in syrup and moved it to my mouth. My mouth parted open and I bit into it. This did seem different from the ones the cooks made.

"Did you really prepare it yourself?" I asked.

He chuckled, "Britney's." I nodded. Britney's was a very famous 5 star Breakfast and Brunch. It was barely 7am. How could he have made the order so fast?

"It's delicious." I said. He picked a french fry, attempting to feed me again.

"Let's eat together, Damien Jaeger." I suggested.

A naughty smirk formed on his lips, "You sure about that?"

"Why are you suddenly asking that way?" I asked, curiously. It was a friendly request.

Damien Jaeger dropped the tray on the bed, still holding the fry in his fingers. He took the fry to my lips, allowing me to have only a small part of it in my mouth. I studied him curiously. Was that a way to feed someone a fry?

Before I had time to voice out my thoughts, Damien Jaeger moved closer to me until we were an inch apart. My eyes lowered to his lips and I swallowed, anticipating what was about to happen. Slowly, his soft lips enveloped the fry until it met mine. My eyes glued shut as I felt a burst of butterflies in my stomach. His kiss was tender but wanting and I clung to him in desperation.

"Mom and Dad?!" A surprised little voice announced and Damien Jaeger quickly pulled away.

Our eyes fell on Darcy, in her ducky pyjamas with hair plaited into pigtails with a few strands out of place, gazing from me to Damien Jaeger with a lost expression on her face.

"You guys are friends now?!" Her voice suddenly switched to excitement.

Damien Jaeger and I stared at each other and burst into laughter. Damien Jaeger cautiously pulled her to himself and sat her on his thighs, "We're a family now, Darcy."

"Mommy and I are married. Married couples are supposed to express love, right?" He asked Darcy who looked as if she was thinking seriously. He looked at me and my cheeks burnt up.

"I guess so." She finally said.

"What about me then?" She asked him curiously.

I opened my mouth to speak but stopped when Damien Jaeger planted a tender kiss on her lips, "There!" He said, "That shows that I love both my Queen and my princess."

My eyes studied him keenly. It was something about his looks this morning.

"You look beautiful, My love." He said, staring at me. I fluttered my eyelashes at his compliment. I haven't even looked at myself in the mirror yet.

"Darcy, come on. Let's get you ready for school." I announced, turning to look at the blissful angel.

"I want daddy to get me ready for school today!"

Damien Jaeger looked amused. Clearly he had never dressed up anyone other than himself.

"Can you, Damien?" "Please?" I asked.

He looked at Darcy who was eagerly awaiting his approval and then at me who stared back at him urgingly. A smile curled his lips, "It can't be that hard, right?" He asked.

I laughed, "You'll find out."

Damien Jaeger stood from the bed and carried Darcy, taking her in the air before placing her over his shoulders.

"Yayyyyyyyy!" She screamed in excitement, "You're so strong daddy."

"Not like mommy." I heard her say as Damien Jaeger entered the closet.

"Hey!" I shrieked, running after them, "That's not a nice thing to say, Darcy."

Darcy bursts into giggles.

"You used to call me wonder woman, what happened to that?" I asked.

"Daddy's superman!" She said with pride.

A black Maybach settled into the parking lot and Gray got out to open the door. Damien stepped out first before taking my hands in his and I stepped out of the car. He was dressed as usual, in an expensive black suit, with the CEO look he always carried into Paradox. I, on the other hand, was clad in a white high waist pants, a white chiffon top with a white coat and white heels. We resembled the representation of light and darkness. However, the intimidating demeanour I once felt around Damien Jaeger had vanquished into thin air.

"Gray, I will send someone to get the files." He announced.

"Don't worry, Damien. I'll get it."

He intertwined his arms around mine and we strode into Paradox without giving me a chance to get the things from the car, "You are not my personal assistant anymore, Mélie. You're the CEO's wife." He said with seriousness.

"We can find another personal assistant for paradox."

"Good morning, sir." Rachael greeted as she sighted Damien Jaeger. Her eyes bulged open as she sighted me and wore a confused look on her face.

I greeted her. She stammered, struggling to find the right words to say.

"Sir!" My eyes fell on Ken who had just gotten out of the elevator and was probably making his way to Rachel's, "Good morning."

His eyes landed on me and they flew open in surprise, holding the same expression as Rachael did.

"Inform the staff to gather in the conference room for a meeting." Damien Jaeger said firmly, "Do that immediately."

"S-Sure, sir." Ken stammered a reply.

Rachael and him stared at me questioningly and I my eyes pleaded with them that they would soon get the explanation they were looking for.
