In holiday spirit!

The early morning sunlight hit my eyes as I opened them and I quickly pulled the blanket over my face. A body shifted beside me and my head turned to meet Damien Jaeger, sleeping peacefully.

Memories of last night came pouring in and my cheeks heated up over endless scenes of passionate lovemaking. Unconsciously, my fingers traced the sharp edges of his jawline as I critically studied his sleeping features.

His eyes parted open and I quickly pulled my hand from his face. His hand moved abruptly, returning my fingers back to where they had been, "Good morning my Queen." He greeted me in a raspy voice.

"Good morning." I replied.

He pulled me to himself , wrapping his arms around me and I blushed, realising that both of us were still naked, "Exhausted?" He asked.

"Why?" I said, feigning oblivion.

He chuckled, "If you continue acting this way, I might just be forced to remind you about what happened last night.

I giggled, "What happened last night?"

Damien Jaeger chuckled again, "I guess I'll just have to remain." He added with a teasing voice, pulling the blanket over as his lips locked into mine.

"Finally back from your little meeting, I see." Diana said with a laugh when Damien Jaeger and I walked into the house, "Just in time for breakfast!"

"Good morning, Diana." I greeted and she beamed happily at me.

"Good morning." Damien Jaeger greeted, planting a kiss on her cheek.

"Sure you had a lovely night?" She asked. I blushed, picking up the teasing in her voice.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Darcy cried in joy, running into the dinning room. She was still dressed in her pyjamas and her hair flew haywire. However, she looked much better than how I woke up this morning.

"Good morning, my princess." I said and squatted to pick her up in my arms, "How did your night go with grandma?"

"It was amazing!" She flew into excitement, "We had a playdate and took tea!"

"Grandma made me draw her!" She added happily, "She hung it up in her room. Wanna see?"

Diana laughed, "Easy, my little artist." "Let's have breakfast first."

"I should get her freshened up first." I suggested.

"Not after she's seen all this food! Let the little girl be."

I dropped 'the little girl' on the floor and she occupied her usual spot on the table, which was on her father's thighs of course. Damien Jaeger planted a kiss on her hair and whispered something into her ear which made her laugh.

Diana cleared her throat as Suzanne brought a jar of fruit juice to the table, "I can see you 2 worked on a little branding as well."

She laughed when she saw the clueless looks on our faces then she drew close to me, "You have a little 'Jaeger group of companies' logo on your neck!"

"Oh!" I exclaimed with embarrassment and pushed my hair to cover up the mark. Damien Jaeger had left hickeys everywhere!

"Oh, you don't have to be shy." Diana said with a laugh, "I was young and adventurous once, you know."

Damien Jaeger chuckled, "You were very kinky, Daina."

"Silly boy!" "He found a photo album which I dubbed 'very explicit!"

I giggled lightly. Who knew Diana loved being a playgirl when she was my age? I guess being a window changes a lot of things too!

The days rolled by and Christmas creeped into the atmosphere. From the lights along the Champs-Élysées running all the way up to the Arc de Triompheto and the rainbow-coloured tree at Galeries Lafayette, Paris was simply a dazzling, winter wonderland!

The car came to a halt at the Tuileries Gardens and Diana and I got down from the car, "Oui, je vous informerai lorsque nous aurons terminé ici (Yes, I will inform you when we are done here)." Diana told the chauffeur who drove off shortly after.

"WowI!" I exclaimed stupefied as we walked into the market; Hundreds of wooden cabins selling small gifts and seasonal treats lined up, displaying an array of stands run by French artisans; from glass blowers to woodworkers, and designers who stood behind stalls, presenting their fascinating crafts to buyers.

"Always a buzz around here during the holidays!" Diana chirped happily, "It's the best place to pick up holiday presents!"

"Now, let's get searching!" She added with a holiday ginger, leading the way to the first buyer that impressed her.

My eyes dug into the contents of this particular seller's stall, who had a long moustache, giving him the resemblance of a French artist who dated back to the 1800s. His stall had tiny figurines made from glass and ceramic of different colours. I fingered an adorable kitty who was resting on its bum.

"Ah, A wonderful piece you have selected, mmselle!" He remarked in his thick French accent, "I pack it up for you, Oui (Yes)?"

"Hmmm, a good choice." Diana spoke before I could, "We will take 2 of the same kind!"

The seller wrapped it up and handed it to me, displaying all his teeth in a grin as Diana paid him for the figurines.

"Quick, quick!" She exclaimed, walking away from the man's stall, "We must hurry or else we will lose the very best of the best!"

"And I don't quite fancy leftovers!" She added.

I followed behind her and we made our way to another stall, this one selling woven baskets, embroidery and quilts and Diana insisted on having a basket and a quilt for each member of the family, "It's a tradition!" She explained, "Better than wrapping them up in boxes."

By the time our endless shopping came to an end, it was already evening and Daina insisted we find rest in the open space of an elegant cafe, for tea and pastries before the driver arrived to take us, along with our bulky purchases, back home to the mansion.

"I do hope I bought enough presents for my granddaughter?" She asked, abandoning her tea to inspect her purchases.

"I think you bought the entire market. Is that not enough?" I joked and Diana bursted into a delightful laughter.

"You can never have too many presents, you know." She said, before finally returning to her sizzling hot cup of tea.
