Mate bond

Ashlyn's POV

It took me great pains to write how to be a slave on the paper given to me. I could not write properly with the paper on the ground because there was nothing to place under it for smooth writing and it came out rough.

I was just glad that I could finish it. I had a very discomforting time writing it. With a tool shoved up inside of me and an icebag creating a sensation on my nipples, my imagination was sorta running wild.

Sometimes while I was writing, I'd become dazed and blinded by an oblivion unable to see clearly what was before me.
What had made it easier to withstand the torture was he leaving the lamp behind or perhaps he forgot. Either of, it was of great help to me.

Vino had stood by the cell all through watching me. His eyes were on every of my movement. Ensuring that I follow all of his alpha's orders and not disobey under his watchful eyes.

I had no idea how long I stayed in the dungeon.
But a few hours after I had dropped the feather, I saw a ray of light filtering through a small netted window made out of brick.

I was quite astonished cause I had not expected to see such in the dungeon. The little ray of sun illuminated the walls and cells of the dungeon and I was finally able to see quite well.
I heard the clinking clanking of locks and the harsh and abrupt voices of Lycans and the low and whimpering voices of the oppressed.
I went towards my cell holding the bars as I watched.

The prisoners looked familiar. I have seen them a couple of times out of the yard. Into the hot sun, heating and beating up flours to be baked. Tending to the slaughtering of the sheep and sometimes far ahead working on the mill.

I was confused. I had thought they were locked up in here never to see the sunset or sunrise. I never knew they were the same people I came across doing the hard chores.

And that was when I saw Catriona. I gasped in shock. I had thought she was a part of the pack. I had thought all of them I see in the house were a part of the pack. I was baffled to find out they were not.

Despite being a prisoner, Catriona was always good to me and I had no idea she suffers too. Such an ordeal.
The Lycans were leading them out. Out to do all of their dirty jobs. And then I realized the Lycans were behaving just like father and the way he treats people and they had the guts to hate him for that. Hypocrites. They were all the same. Brutal. Vulgar. Beasts. Monsters. Barbarians. All the same, I say.

Just then their superior came over, walking towards me in his ever gracious manner. I wondered how such a rogue could have the light feet of a royal. Abled, firm, quick, and yet majestic. Lucifer Saunron.
His eyes dark still bore the hatred of last night as he got to me. In my awful predicament, I took notice of every part of him. His long black hair fell in straightened waves on his side and broad shoulders.
A plain white shirt buttoned halfway and exposing a well perfect tapered chest was tucked in a pair of black breeches which revealed his trimmed slim waist.

I mentally shook my head. How could a brute like him have the body of a demigod with his chiseled jaw an added perfection? A rare blessing for royals.
I was immediately jolted out from my reverie when he stood before me in his all formidable aura sneering.
"I see Vino made sure you carried out all my task." He said.
I just stood there, too weak to speak.
"Open the cell Vino." He said to Vino who immediately obeyed.

Lucifer walked into the cell and I saw him reach for the paper on the floor. He examined the words. The words I had written with my blood.
"Rough," his voice came out gruffly. I stared at him blankly. Will he ask me to write another? "But good to go." He added and I sighed audibly in relief.
He frowned at me. "What was that for?" He demanded. His voice was dark and matched his eyes.

I shook my head in fear. Every single passing minute, he was instilling fear in me.
"You're happy I did not complain about it." He said and I shook my head.
"You look me in the eye and lie to me?" He questioned, he was closed to the edge of anger and I knew I'd suffer greatly for it.
I shook my head again and as he approached me, I backed away and got trapped by the bars of the cell.
"I was just glad that you like it." I stuttered in fright, holding the bars for support before my fear betray me and I crumble to the ground.
"Well, I do not like it!" He yelled and tore the paper right in front of me and I watched in horror as the tiny pieces floated before falling to the ground.

That was my sweat. That was my blood! and he shredded it into tiny bits like they meant nothing to him!
I was on the verge of crying again. The tears that had ceased during the early hours of this morning began to burn in my eyes again.
"How much more injustice do I have to suffer? How callous can you be?!" I yelled in frustration unable to contain it any longer my tear bags burst open and the tears flowed out freely, leaving streaks of saltiness as they rolled down my cheek.

Lucifer's POV

I was quite taken aback by her outburst as I stared at her. My punishments could not keep her shrewish tongue lying low for long.

I wanted to be oblivious to her sufferings but in a way she always had me chained to them. I was punishing her as my slave for all her wrongs and she was in a way involving me in them.
I shook my head. If I let her tears or words wear me down then everything I had planned out will be placed on hold and that was not what I wanted. The least of what I wanted was to have them haltered and that I could not take.

I grabbed her by the hair hard and she whimpered. "You do not speak to me in such a manner. I am your master." I said to her as I clenched my jaw in anger.
Her eyes watered afresh. "You're inhumane." She said in an agonized voice.
"What do you expect? After all, I'm Lucifer Saunron." I said to her.

She did not speak again as I gazed into her eyes. She was having the same impact she had on me last night when I had dared to probe.
It was like there had been something. Something in there. Calling and drawing me.
I had been quite shaken. Even Steel had felt the same and had been restless throughout the night and here she was doing the same thing to me again. To us again.

I was searching. Searching in her eyes for something I could not find. Something I knew I dared not reach. Something that should stay far away from me.
I hated the impact her eyes had on me and I broke the contact and pushed her away from me.

Her fall and gasps caught my attention and I looked away. Her cries began to create havoc in my head and wreck my soul. Damn this mate bond. It was controlling me. It wanted me to reach out to her, hold her and comfort her. Apologize for my inhumane behavior and I almost vomited for that. I felt disgusted at the thought.

I, for once have never uttered an apology and it would not start now and definitely not to a woman and most definitely not if she was a vampire.
"Get your feeble-minded self from the ground. We've got work to do." I said to her as I fought the mate bond.
"Now," I commanded as I walked out of the cell. I waited impatiently for her outside the cell but she came forth not.

I looked into the cell and found her sitting on the ground. Her body wracking in sobs.
And the pain of my mate washed over me again. Maybe I should have rejected her than having to face this insufferable torture.
I went to a nearby guard and took his whip from him and went back inside her cell.
"Will you get up or should I be forced to use this whip on you?" I said to her and she looked up at me with bloodshot eyes, cold and malicious as she stared at the whip.

She stood up and walked past me with no words and I stared at the whip in my hand. I was not planning on using it on her. I only wanted to scare her with it. I had rather subdued ways to make a woman submissive than hitting her.
Her cold and malicious eyes flashed through my head. Good. She hated me a lot now and that was great. We were off to a good start. The more she hates me the better for both of us and drifts us furthermore apart for whatever the moon goddess planned out and hopefully we could break this mate bond.
