If happy ever after did exist

Ashlyn's POV
Dawn took extremely too long to come and I guessed it was due to my over excitement for today. Noon did the same thing and when evening slowly approached, I was seated in front of the vanity mirror with Roselia and a couple other ladies beside me.
Catriona had returned back to her homeland with her brother and it was crazy how much I missed having her around.
Right now I was surrounded by ladies I see in the pack but do not know them and that I had barely associated with.
It was all going to change when I finally become the Lady of the house. The Luna of the Nightwing pack.
Fuss was made over my nails of what nail polish color would fit perfectly on it. I let them make the fuss cause I did not care much about it. I just wanted to be linked arm in arm with my groom and tell him ' I do'.
They finally decided on a chic blue nail polish coupled with a glitter lacquer polish for design.
It did turn out great and my toe nails were given a nude nail polish color after minutes of a nice pedicure.
Same fuss was made over my hair of which style would fit the Lady of the house. I had earlier picked one but to them it was too plain for a bride. I decided to let them make the fuss over my hair style.
All I hoped was that they would not dally too much in my preparation to become Mrs Saunron.
They settled for curly waves with crystals embedded in it. Few of the curls were pulled and held loosely at the back of my head and a few curls falling to each side of my face. This highland princess hairstyle I got seemed a little bit better than the Celtic knot I had wanted.
My eyebrows were highlighted and perfectly arched. The liners around my eyes turned out well too. My lips was a pout of nude lipstick.
In one word, the makeup on my face was exquisite.
That all done,I slipped into the wedding dress Roselia brought into the room and it fit perfectly fine.
The dress was completely sleeveless. Not even a tiny strap of sleeve to hold it. It curved around my breasts and fitted around the bodice. The wedding dress was mostly designed with tartan kilt.
The dark blue tartan kilt was folded in a vee shape up to one side of my thigh and pinned with a crystal stone. The open vee area was a milky white three steps clothing that spread to the hem of the dress.
The upper part of the dress was designed like a corset and having the milky white design feathery at the left side of the dress up to my cleavage with a rope laced at the left side of it too and knotted a little close to the end of the corset.
A shimmering silver choker necklace around my neck with studs of earrings to match with it.
Slipping my perfectly pedicured and polished nails into the low multiple strap heels,I stood on a towering position and one of the ladies sprayed perfume on my neck,my wrist and into the air and I walked into the area she sprayed and twirled for the dress to have the scent of the perfume on it too.
Roselia beamed and I saw her wiping a tear from her eyes.
"Tears?" I asked her.
"Of joy mi'lady. It gladdens my heart to finally see this day unfolding before my very eyes." She said and I smiled despite not knowing why she was so excited for me.
I turned around to find the ladies lowered to their knees with their heads bowed.
"It is an honor to be graced with hands that have now touched the Lady of our pack."
"We'll be glad to see you sitting at the right hand side of our beloved Laird."
They said and my heart melted by their words.
"Rise," I said to them. Not only would I be loved by Lucifer,I would also be loved by his pack. Was this not really the beginning of the love I've longed for.
They straightened up and lifted their heads with smiles on their faces. "It fills me with so much joy to hear these words from all of you,I'm honored." I said to them with a smile.
"Come now mi'lady, the young Laird would be too anxious to see you to wait any longer." Roselia said smiling as she held my hand leading me out the door.
Lucifer and I had been separated to prepare for the wedding. I was taken to my previous room for my own preparation and he was in his. Soon to be officially ours.
I walked down the stairs with Roselia holding my hand. This was meant to be mother and then my father handing me out to Lucifer with a smile on his face. But this was my reality. My father and mother were not present on my wedding neither was my brothers but that would not crease a frown on my face and ruin my day neither would the sight of Celine do so too.
My eyes met with the one my heart beats for. Everyday he seemed to look more handsome than before and in this traditional attire he wore,he looked roguishly handsome and quite responsible too. I smiled at the thought.
He wore a two piece tuxedo with five button black waistcoat and kilt with the same color as mine. A black hose over black shoes.
I admired him from the stairs until his searching eyes met mine and I could not deny the electrifying feeling that went through me.
He'll always make my half dead heart race.
Lucifer's POV
I waited anxiously for her and when she finally appeared on the stairs,my black heart somersaulted over and over. She was exquisitely lovely. She was magnificent. She looked too sophisticated to hold. Too pure for me to have. Too innocent to call mine yet my heart screamed exactly that. She was mine.
"Aye Helldog, you've never made a wrong decision and on this you did not either." Kill whispered in my ear and I was too engrossed with the goddess coming from the stairs to notice the rest agreeing with him.
I was fighting for composure. Not to take my gorgeous bride back into the room she walked out from and be damned the next morning while taking her to her highest peak coupled with different waves of ecstasies shuddering through her.
"All mine." Steel said in my head possessively.
I saw Ripper cross towards the stairs as she got to the foot of it.
Roselia let go of her hand and Ripper held it. He led her towards me and placed her hand on my already outstretched one. I held her hand feeling the softness against my calloused one.
Her hand was a bit cold out of nervous perhaps and I hoped mine creates warmth for hers.
We stood in front of the priest and as his spoke I barely listened. "You know,I cannot wait for the priest to finish his sermons and get you out of this dress." I whispered to her and she chuckled a little.
Pay attention to the priest." She whispered back. I turned to her a little bit.
"I'll rather watch you undress every morning than listen to this priest talk." I said to her and I believe the priest heard me for I saw him giving me a stern look.
"My apologies. Do carry on." I said to him smirking and he shook his head and continued.
Just then Ashlyn became very uncomfortable. Her face grew paler and I could see she was fighting for control.
"What is wrong?" I asked her worriedly. She looked at me and all I could see was the vampire features on her face.
Her fangs were revealing. "I can smell blood Lucifer and it's very strong. I cannot resist it." She said to me. Her face still entailing a panicking expression.
I shook my head and looked around for any sign of anyone bleeding or purposely doing this but there was none.
"Fight it love. Just few a few minutes and I would get you a couple of bags." I said to her and she nodded. She was fighting it and it was so obvious on her face.
The priest motioned for us to face each other and we did. "Do you Lucifer Saunron take Ashlyn Ambrosia to be your lawfully wedded wife?" He asked.
"I.." I did not get to finish when Ashlyn looked at me apologetically.
"Forgive me." She said letting go of my hand and in a flash she was out of my sight. The gathering all looked towards the door where she had sped through in gasps and surprise.
I was abandoned at the altar and my heart sank at the thought. But where was the smell of blood coming from when I could not perceive it.
Was this a ploy to not marry me? No. I shook the foolish thought out of my head. Ashlyn would never do this on purpose.
Ashlyn's POV
I ran out of the house and still there was no sign of blood spilling anywhere. No injured person or anything but yet the smell was strong and threatening to suffocate me.
I could not take it anymore as I ran into the woods. I felt bad leaving Lucifer in such manner just when it was time for us to be binded as one but I could not help myself.
This sudden smell was triggering my senses and elevating my hunger.
I needed to feed.
Such a disaster on my wedding day. An unexpected outcome for today. It was not part of the plan but yet fate has decided to play a fast one on me.
All these days my hunger for blood alleviated and now all of a sudden it was high and off the charts.
The smell was becoming too addictive for me. Too strong and yet I could not tell where it was coming from. No sense of direction. It was just there. I went towards the lonely road still in my wedding dress.
I looked like a damsel in distress. A perfect way to lure a prey. I got lucky as a carriage pulled over.
The coach stared at me and a man lifted his head and looked out of the carriage towards me.
"Are you lost? Do you need help?" He asked me.
I nodded. Of course I did need help. I needed help to appease my hunger.
"Come into the carriage, I'll take you to your destination. Is that alright?" He asked and I nodded again and walked towards the side of the carriage.
I had the whole plan mapped out in my head. I'll get into carriage and feed on him.
Just then I saw a woman in a wedding dress sitting at the side of the carriage and holding him close to create room for me. Me,a stranger. Someone who was about to separate them from each other.
I decided against it. I just could not do it. They just got married. I should place myself in their shoes. Would I like it if Lucifer and I were separated? I did not need anyone to tell me I would not.
"You just got married?" I asked.
She nodded smiling. "Yes. At the papist church." She said. I nodded.
"You two enjoy. I'll find my way." I said to them turning away.
"We can still be of help." She said insisting.
"I'm afraid you cannot help me." I muttered underneath my breath.
"What?" The man asked.
"Go." I said to them without turning back.
"Let us help you. It's dark and you should not be out here all alone." The woman said.
"This place is rumored to be filled with predators lurking in the dark." The man said.
"Go!" I turned around with my canines out and in full vampire mode. I was the predator. They screamed in fright as the coach clinged to the reins of the horses tightly and rode away.
I crumbled to the ground fighting for control and yet the smell of blood refused to stop filtering into my nostrils.
By the time I returned back to the house, there was not a gathering of people anymore waiting for me to be married to their alpha. I remembered Celine's threat but did not believe she had a hand in this.
I stopped short when I saw Lucifer sitting on the couch tapping his fingers on the arm of the couch with his legs crossed. Was he angry with me? I wondered until his eyes met mine.
