Lucifer's POV
The Minor clans were able to list out packs from the Major clans that had come to raid and oppress them and I and my comrades had done the needful. Punish them. The alphas of these packs that had led such outrageous act,we brought back to the house to be locked up in the dungeon and whipped under the early morning sun.
The rest of the Major clans have been forbidden to have anything to do with the rebellious packs that had done the deed. They were not to associate in any activities with them. Neither were they to trade with them.
Perhaps when starvation and death strife amongst them, they'll understand the pains of the Minors and the consequences that comes with anyone causing them harm and injustice.
Kill, Rage and Ripper dragged the alphas to the dungeon and Stealth and Vino returned the horses to the stables.
I walked into the house and walked up the stairs to find the temptress I had left behind earlier today. I did not find her in her room. I checked her bathroom and she was not there either.
"Ashlyn?" I called as I walked down the hallway. I met Sia and Juliette on my way back downstairs. "Have any of you seen Ashlyn?" I asked.
"Since when have we become Ashlyn's keepers?" Sia answered arrogantly.
"Are you mad?" I asked her in anger. "How dare you answer my question with a question? Have you lost your senses?" I bellowed at her in anger.
She shuddered.
"I do not tolerate such tone from anyone else in this house except from Ashlyn. Do not ever speak to me in such manner if you value your life." I said to her and her lips quivered as she looked down.
"I'll ask one last time. Have you seen Ashlyn?" I inquired with a raised tone.
"No-no." She stuttered and they both shook their head.
"Get out." I said staring at them in exasperation. They both walked hastily past me.
I walked down the stairs and saw Roselia coming into the house. Finally,a reasonable person to tell me where Ashlyn was.
"Roselia, have you seen Ashlyn?" I asked her.
She nodded. "She asked me to inform you she'll be by the river." She said.
"Thank you." I said walking out of the house and immediately I did,I felt something was wrong. My heart raced. All of a sudden the adrenaline in my body accelerated. I felt suddenly cold.
Was something wrong with Ashlyn? Why was I feeling everything was not alright with her? I did not want to wait and think about it as I sped off into the woods towards the direction of the river. Taking the shortest route to it.
I got to the river and there was no sign of Ashlyn.
"Ashlyn!" I called out but there was no response. Has she been abducted? No,I shook my head. This was the territory of Nightwing. No one would come in without being detected.
"Ashlyn!" I called out more vehemently than before. I was panicking. Where the bloody hell was she?
She was making me lose my mind as I ran towards the bank of the river with no sign of her. This woman would make me go crazy! I was very sure of it.
"Ashlyn where are you?!" I yelled out again. Was she doing this to me on purpose? Was she hiding somewhere to make me look for her? "It's not funny Ashlyn. Come out now!" I yelled again and when I got no response, agitation washed all over me. Fear washed all over me. I was panicking.
Then I noticed bubbles closed to the middle of the river. My instincts told me bubbles could not just be formed except someone was breathing underneath it.
I jumped into the water and swam towards the spot. There I saw Ashlyn with her eyes closed sinking to the bottom. I swam towards her and holding her,I swam to the surface.
I carried her out of the water and placed her on the dry land.
"Do not give up on me, I beg of you." I said to her emotions choking my voice as I pressed her stomach.
"I cannot lose you, Ash. Please open your eyes." I said to her as I placed my mouth on hers for respiration. I got no response from her.
I kept pressing her stomach. "I cannot live without you, please wake up." I pleaded in despair.
I began to panic. What if I actually lose her? What if I do not get the chance to tell her what was in my heart? Will I be able to live with myself? Would I be..
She coughed out a little water and the relief that washed over me was uncomprehending. She opened her eyes and I held her in my arms pulling her closely to myself.
"Thank goodness. I thought I lost you forever." I said sighing every now and then and kissing her forehead. I realized this was the assurance I needed. Yes,I was in love with her. I was in love with Ashlyn Ambrosia.
She shivered as I placed a plaid over her as I made her sit close to the fire. I had brought her back to the house.
"You made me lose my mind, Ash," I said to her and she chuckled.
"I'm a vampire Lucifer. I can breathe under water. I just cannot swim." She said to me and that explained the bubbles.
"How did you get in there?" I asked her.
"I really do not know. One minute I was sitting at the bank of the river,the next,I'm in it." She said to me.
"Who did you inform that you were heading to the river aside Roselia?" I asked her.
She shook her head. "No one else." She said. I knew Roselia could not do it. She cared for Ashlyn a lot but then,I saw her coming from outside when I was looking for Ashlyn.
"Roselia." I called but she was already coming with a small tray and on it was a cup of tea.
"I'm here alpha." She said as she handed the tea to Ashlyn who muttered a thank you.
"Did you go to the river?" I asked her. She stared at me in surprise and puzzlement.
"Do not ask her that." Ashlyn said shaking her head as she knew where I was heading to.
"Alpha, it's somewhat unbelievable that you're trying to accuse me of what happened to mi'lady." She said with real surprise on her face.
"I'm not accusing you, Roselia. I asked a question seeing that you're the only one Ashlyn told where she was going to." I said.
"I was not at the river," she said and her eyes mirrored hurt. "I've been serving this household almost all my life. I'm your mother's trusted servant. I'll never want to cause any harm to the Laird or his lady." She said shaking her head.
Ashlyn rose to her feet and held her hands. "Do not listen to Lucifer. I trust you completely. I know you did not do it. You treat me with so much love than my own mother has ever done. I do not believe you'll try to hurt me." Ashlyn said to her.
I stood up too. "I'm not doubting Roselia. Do not confuse my question for lack of trust. Finna just know what happened." I said.
"Let it be Lucifer." Ashlyn said as she headed towards the direction of the stairs walking away while she still shivered. I walked up to her and lifted her into my arms and her eyes widened.
I gazed down at her shocked expression and looked ahead. "You should get used to this by now." I said to her.
"You're too unpredictable for me to tell your next move." She said as she clung onto my shoulders.
I chuckled. "Then I must tell you, more surprises are on its way." I said to her and as we got into her room,I placed her on the bed gently.
I placed a light kiss on her forehead. "I'll be right back." I said to her and she nodded.
I walked out of the room and down the stairs. Then I saw Ripper. "Gather the pack around. Every one of them. I have something to say to them." I said and he nodded and left.
Roselia was sitting on the couch when I walked up to her. "Roselia, was there anyone close by when Ashlyn announced she was going to the river?" I asked her.
"None that I can remember." She said.
"Forgive me if I did hurt your feelings tonight." I said to her and she stared at me in surprise and smiled.
"Our dear little Ashlyn is having a good influence on you." She said. I smiled back. I apologized. Surprising init?
Ripper did as I asked as everywhere became crowded in the pack house.
"A terrible display of anger, hatred or perhaps jealousy was performed tonight. Precisely few minutes ago. One of you here went to the river to push Ashlyn into it. Hoping she dies but y'all must have forgotten that a vampire does not die through these little ways." I said. I, myself in my panic state had forgotten that too.
They began to murmur amongst themselves, denying it.
I raised a finger and they fell into silence.
"I do not need your denials but I do want to make something clear, once I get hold of the perpetrator,he or she would not be able to withstand what's coming." I said watching the expressions on their faces. "Dismiss." I ordered and one by one they dispersed to their various places and I walked back to Ashlyn's room.
Roselia's POV
As everyone left the pack house,I walked towards my room to retire for the night when I heard voices coming out of Sia's room and I placed my ears to the door.
"Stupid girl. Why is she a vampire? She could have died tonight." She said in irritation.
"Now that she's still alive,what do we do? She's now a living terror in our lives." I heard Juliette say.
"We have to think quickly. We have to do something fast." Sia said.
"I'm worried. Lucifer has already threatened hell on who did this tonight and that's us. What will happen if he finds out we're planning more?" Meredith asked.
"Who would tell him? He would not find out. We just have to eliminate Ashlyn once and for all." Sia said and I covered my mouth to keep me from gasping loudly.
"Come on now, we'll think of how to deal with Ashlyn later, let's get down to why we're really here. Let's make love. It's been so long since we had it." Juliette said.
"Ashlyn is why Lucifer does not spare us a glance anymore. Once she's out of the way, we'll have the sturdy stallion mounting on us again." Sia said and they all giggled.
"Now come here," Meredith said and I could hear some kissing sounds. I pulled away from the door. Disgusting people! Now they were planning to eliminate Ashlyn. I must tell this to Lucifer by tomorrow. I concluded.
