Hovering clouds
Ashlyn's POV
He held me in arms in that position for a long time till my tears could no longer flow down my cheeks.
I raised my head up to look at him, and his was filled with warm emotions.
He held my chin in between his thumb and index finger. "There's never going to be another woman in my life, Ash. Not in this life or the next." He said to me and I believed him.
I should have known it was another scheme of Celine to separate us. I do believe him but why does he not believe me?
I opened my mouth to speak but he stopped me. "Do not say a word." He said as he placed his lips on mine.

Morning approached quickly and the familiar warmth that laid beside me last night was gone and replaced with an empty and cold bed.
I opened my eyes and indeed Lucifer was no longer beside me. I got up to a sitting position on the bed and sighed. Then I had a weird feeling that everything was about change.
Just then Lucifer walked into my room. The door was still broken and unfixed.
He was all dressed up in a red tartan shirt and breeches and his hair was pulled back and held with a band leaving a small ponytail at the back of his head.
"Good morning, love." He said to me with a smile.
I gave a weary smile. "Good morning, my lord." I said to him. He sat on the bed and leaned closer to me and placed a kiss on my forehead.
"Slept well?" He asked me as he pulled back looking into my eyes.
I shrugged looking away from him. He held my chin, tilting it up for me to look at him.
"Still angry with me?" He asked me.
"Hmm," I said nodding.
"Please do not," he said sighing. "On my life, Ash, I have nothing to do with Celine or any other woman." He said to me.
"Why don't you send her away? She's trouble." I said to him.
"You know that's very difficult for me." He said.
I dropped his hand from my face and looked away. He enclosed my face with his hands and I was forced to look at him. "Do not be stubborn on this matter, Ash." He said to me.
"Do you still love her?" I asked him staring at him and he did not blink or flinch back.
"I've come to understand the real meaning of love and it's with you and not her. I've realized just as you've said that day, I mistook care and affection for love." He said placing his forehead on mine.
"I'm in love with you, Ash and no one else owns my heart except you." He said and I sighed.
I should have faith in this love that we had. I placed my hand on his face and smiled. "I know so and I love you too." I said to him.
He smiled and chuckled. "That settled, I have got to leave now." He said to me.
"To where?" I asked him as he let go of my face.
"I have a meeting with the Minor clans in Perth. I'll be gone for three days." He said to me.
"What?" I exclaimed softly. "You did not tell me about this." I said to him.
"I know, love. It just happened to come up while we were at loggerheads with each other." He said to me.
I stood up to my feet frowning. "So, that's why Hawking is here." I said trying not to sound angry or insensitive but I was as I turned my back on him.
I felt his arms around me as he buried his head on my shoulders. "Forgive me, love, but it's a matter of urgency." He said to me as he kissed my shoulder up to my neck. "Three days is not so long, love. Before you know it, I'm back." He said to me.
"Three days without you in this house and with Celine," I groaned. "It will be hell." I said.
He chuckled and turned me around to face him. "Now which hell are you scared of, hm? Mine or hers?" He asked me.
"Neither," I said looking into his eyes. "I'll burn in your hell but I would not die, and hers, is a fire I can easily quench, if not now, but soonest I say." I said to him and he laughed.
He held me in his arms and whispered in my ears. "You'll surely see hell soon, my love.." he said to me and then dropped into a lower and sexy drawl. "On the bed I assure you." He said and I tingled in all the familiar places he has touched.
"I'll have every part of your body burning hot for me," he said huskily as he traced his fingers down my back. "So hot, you'll beg for me to quench it and take you to heaven." He said as he placed his lips on mine and squeezing my arse. I responded to his kiss and groped his phallus. I chuckled as he groaned. Two could play at this game. I would not be the only shivering from the sensation of his touch. He pulled from my lips.
"Fuck Ash, if you do that again, I might just end up taking you here and now and not giving a damn if the door is opened for everyone to see." He said huskily.
I smiled devilishly and stroked his phallus again. "Ash," he whined like a little child.
I chuckled. "What did you say?" I asked him as I raised my legs on tiptoes and entangled my lips with his while stroking his crotch that had began to get hardened.
He groaned and lifted me off the ground placing me on the bed.
"I was just teasing." I said to him laughing as he laid atop me.
"You have to get a share of it too." He said to me as he crushed his lips with mine. He spread my legs and proceeded to caressing my thighs.
I moaned a little with his lips still entangled with mine. He traced his fingers into my thighs when we both heard a slight cough.
Lucifer groaned as he looked towards the broken door and I did the same. It was Kill.
"My apologies, Lucifer, but, Hawking is getting rather too impatient." Kill said.
"I'll be down shortly." He said to him and Kill nodded and walked away. Lucifer got off me and pulled me up to my feet. "You're very lucky but this is not over." He said to me.
I grinned sheepishly. He placed a kiss on my forehead and turned to leave.
"And our wedding?" I asked him.
He turned around with a smile. "I do not need you to remind me of the needful my little vampire. Roselia and I have planned yet another day to get us married. We shall get married next week," he said holding me and I beamed. "This time around,I do not care if your cravings get the better part of you. We would get married on the day I have fixed." He said in a determined tone and I nodded.
I would not tell him about my suspicion any longer till I confirm them myself with evidence too.
"Take care, love." He said to me and placed his lips on mine again for a few seconds before walking out the door.
I walked towards the window and stood there and I saw him walking out of the house. Ruthless was already waiting for him and Ripper was holding his reins. Ripper handed the reins over to Lucifer and he mounted on Ruthless.
Hawking and his beta too was on their own horses and Kill too was on Savage. Together the four of them rode away.
I sighed watching him leave. I was surely going to miss having his doltish head around in the house.
I turned to leave the window when I saw Ripper and Vino coming into the room.
"Good morning, milady." They both said.
"Morning to you all. Do you need anything?" I asked.
They both shook their heads. "Lucifer wants the door repaired and we're here to take a look at it first." Ripper said.
I nodded and watched the both of them. Few minutes later, Vino straightened up. "We'll need a replacement." He said and Ripper nodded.
"Alright then." He said.
"Feel free to make a repair of the door, I'll be in the other room." I said to them and they both nodded and I walked past them towards Lucifer's room.
I was fresh from a bath I had in Lucifer's room. I selected a rusty pink dress from my side of the wardrobe and donned it on. After brushing my hair and tying it in a Celtic knot, I walked out of the room in a happy mood. Despite Celine's plan to ruin my wedding which she succeeded with, I was still getting married and it's next week! I was excited till I came across Celine and immediately my mood dampened and went sour.
"Well, well, is it not surprising to find you in such a pleasant mood when everything is at stake for you?" She said to me the minute I crossed the stairs.
"I know you caused what happened at the wedding Celine." I said to her.
"My," she chuckled. "I did nothing. I wanted to but, the moment I was about to strike, you ended the wedding yourself by running away!" She said in exclamation.
I narrowed my eyes at her. "I do not believe you, not even a tiny bit. But I might has well let this pass. I'll be getting married to the Laird next week." I said to spite her.
She raised a brow in surprise. "Congratulations." She said which in turn surprised me cause I was not expecting the kind of reaction she just gave. "Let's just hope you do not run out, leaving him standing in the altar again." She said walking away with a sinister smile on her face.
I did not trust her one bit. I'd have to be careful around her. I told myself.
