Lucifer's POV
Morning approached quickly and one of the helps walked into my room to clean it up. I felt the pain in my heart lessen a little and I knew it had to do with Ash. Why I felt a streak of joy when she told me she was not going to leave last night baffled me. I was angry with her. Hurt by her betrayal and yet I could not deny the fact that I still loved her.
When I told her she meant nothing to me,I actually lied. My ego and the hurt I was feeling would not let me tell her the truth. I got out of bed and into the bathroom.
I came out few minutes later and saw the help sweeping some dirt into the dustpan and a plastic syringe. She turned to leave.
"Wait," I said to her and she stopped.
"Yes, alpha," she said and I gestured to the dustpan.
"Bring it." I said to her and she nodded bringing the dustpan and indeed it was a syringe. Then I remembered what Ashlyn told me last night. "Where did you find this?" I asked her.
"Under the bed, alpha." She said.
Bloody hell I felt like a fool as I stared at the syringe. Why the hell did I not believe her before?
"You can leave." I said to her and she left.
I quickly threw a shirt on and donned on my breeches rushing towards Ash's room but she was not there. Where was she?
I ran down the stairs and saw Kill and Rage walking in haste into the house.
"Just the person we wanted to see." Kill said.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"There is an uproar outside the territory and some of the warriors confirmed it to be a coup de tat." Kill said.
"What?" I said in surprise.
"And they also confirmed seeing your mistresses among the rebels." Rage said.
What the hell. I threw aside the syringe and hastened out of the house with the both of them right behind me.
When I get back, I'd speak to Ashlyn and hopefully she forgives me for my foolishness.
We got into the stables and taking out our horses from the stables we rode away.
We got to the outside of the territory and truly there were a battalion of rebels outside and some of the warriors were doing their best to keep them away.
"Do you all want what happened eleven years ago to repeat itself again?" I asked still on top of Ruthless.
"This time around,you have more than six packs from the Major clans has enemies." I heard the familiar voice and saw Sia walking out from the rebels.
I smirked. "Alas,my mistress has joined hands with the enemies to seek my downfall." I said.
"Not one mistress but all mistresses." Sia said and I saw Sofia, Juliette and Meredith too among the rebels. I snickered.
"Wars are for men and not women." I said to them.
"There are men too." A male voice said and I saw Hawking. I was shocked. I did not expect to see him amongst the rebels and by his side was Celine. It all made sense to me now.
"I planned this very well Lucifer. Look around you, you're surrounded by a lot of enemies who wants you down from power." He said and indeed I and my comrades were surrounded.
"I see you've been hating from day one Hawking." I said to him.
"Indeed I have Lucifer," he said snickering. "Hand over the reins of leadership to me and there would be no bloodshed." He said to me.
"You planned this before by taking Ashlyn away innit?" I asked him.
He laughed. "Now you're putting your lycan senses to use Helldog." He said to me.
I laughed too. "Lucifer never bows down to anyone." I said to him.
"You will." He said laughing and I saw Stye coming towards him with a woman over his shoulders and then dropped her to the ground.
Ash! My head screamed. She was lying unconscious on the ground.
"What did you do to her?!" I yelled as I mounted down from Ruthless rushing towards her.
"Do not step any closer Lucifer or she dies." Hawking said pointing a gun to Ashlyn's head.
"Do not dare." I warned him,worried about Ash and how they got her.
"Do not worry love,we will not kill her if you step down as being the supreme Laird." Celine said.
"You're a green snake Celine. I trusted you." I said to her.
She chuckled. "And I had my own motives. Once Hawking becomes the supreme Laird,I shall be his Lady. What you keep denying me." She said to me.
"What is it Lucifer? Will you step down?" Hawking said to me.
"Firstly answer my questions. Did Stye lay with Ash?" I asked.
Stye chuckled. "It was an act of deceit Lucifer. I did not lay with your mate no matter how tempting she was." He said and I felt relief washing over me.
"And yes, the night Ash ran away from the wedding, it was all my plan. I had her wedding dress taken to a dark witch who performed a blood spell on it that made her run out on you seeking blood." Celine said and I felt disgusted at myself for not believing Ash when she told me her suspicions.
"Ashlyn Ambrosia is your weakness, Lucifer, and I know that. That's why I staged your downfall around her. Lincoln was part of the plan to make you lose in the Highlands Alpha Games by getting Ruthless kidnapped. Everything was all planned by me. Will you step down?" Hawking said and I looked down at Ashlyn's unconscious body. My love for her or the reins of leadership? Which would I choose? I knew what my answer was as I looked back at my comrades who were waiting for my decision and whatever the decision I make, they'll stand by me even if it makes or breaks them.
"I step down." I said turning to Hawking. Indeed Ash was my weakness.
"I cannot hear you well, Lucifer." Hawking said grinning to spite me.
"I Lucifer Saunron, son of Charles Saunron, steps down from the position as the supreme Laird of all the Lycan and the werewolves." I said out loud and Hawking laughed out loud.
If I had not had my eyes on Ashlyn, I would have missed it. In a flash she was off the ground taking the gun from Hawking and shot him straight in the head and instantly the commotion began as he fell to the ground lifeless. Bullets and arrows flying around.
