Chapter Nineteen
Jonah:
“I thought you said you could control her?” I shouted into Atlas’ face as I slammed her body against the concrete wall of the club office.
“It should have worked, but she is different from other Lycan’s.” Atlas cried out in pain as her ribs cracked loudly against the force of contact against the concrete.
Staring deeply into her red strained eyes as the amber yellow flicked with pain. Releasing a deep breath as I let go of her shaking body as it flopped with a thud to the ground, while Alexi watched with a stern sinister glare.
“So, what do you plan now brother?” Alexi laughed darkly as he poured a whiskey for both of us as Atlas stood slowly, gripping her ribcage panting shallow breaths.
“Word has it that our dear Royal Luna is being caged in the cells, because her Lycan form will not shift back.” I laughed darkly as I tipped my glass at Atlas, who stood silently against the concrete wall.
I watched as Atlas placed her hands against her ribcage, chanting in a whispered voice as her hands glowed greenish, healing the broken ribs, and deep bruising from our little tuff. Even if she failed controlling the “Dog” she managed to block the shifting trait that allows for a werewolf to shift between human and beast.
Alexi stared at me with a flicker of mischievousness.
“What are you thinking Alexi?” I asked with a cold snicker as Atlas stood up silently trying to slip out the office.
“Where do you think you are going?” Alexi asked sharply catching Atlas mid-step, not turning around to face us.
“I have clients, so I need to go.” Atlas hissed coldly as she looked over her shoulder at us with a perked brow.
“Yes, you do that. Remember if you want to kept what little your father left, you answer when I call.” I hissed darkly at her as she narrowed her gaze at me, exiting the office.
Turning my gaze back to Alexi as he swirled his whiskey in his glass, watching as it ghosted the glass lining. Clearing my throat in a half-laugh as I downed my whiskey, setting the glass down on his desktop.
“This could work to our advantage. The Royal Coronation is set for four days from now, and if our precious Royal Luna cannot appear in human form, then the throne remains empty, even though the Royal King is present.” Alexi laughed as he poured another round of whiskey.
Yes, to take the throne the Royals must be mated, and capable of taking over the throne, even if one is capable at the time, the ceremony cannot take place. Knowing our sneaky, two-faced Royal Lycan’s, they will find a way to take the throne, even with the whore in her current form. My anger growing with each passing second, thinking of the failed attempt to discredit the Lycan’s in front of Hilo.
“High Priestess Morgan is not happy, knowing a rogue witch enchanted a Royal.” I laughed darkly as Alexi perked a brow.
“FUCK! I thought dealing with “Mad Dogs” was bad. Have you met Morgan Bloodstone?” Alexi laughed hissing darkly as he rubbed his face with his hands.
“Oh, come on brother. She would love a visit from her first love, and one who broke her heart all in one swoop.” I laughed sarcastically as Alexi leaned forward in his chair gripping his glass in his hand, looking up at me with narrowed eyes.
“Morgan is no joke. She is capable of anything.” Alexi pointed his finger at me downing his whiskey quickly, standing up stretching out his body.
“If you will excuse me. I have to get ready; the club opens in an hour.” Alexi laughed darkly as he “poofed” out of his office, leaving me to bask in my thoughts of possible ploys to once and for all, take over the Fairy Realm.
Sitting quietly in my plush chair as I watched the club lights flash between the multiple hues of colors, vibration in my pocket drew my attention to my phone buzzing loudly as I pulled it from my coat pocket.
Releasing a low grumbling as I answered the call.
“Yeah?” I replied annoyed hearing loud commotion in the background.
“Jonah, we have a problem.” Vance’s muffled voice gargled lowly through the phone.
“What problem?” I asked coldly leaning forward pouring another whiskey as the commotion subsided as a door clicked closed.
“The Elders. Apparently, Desmond has petitioned the Elders to allow Alpha Jack to take the throne, while the enchantment placed on Mei is broken.” Vance laughed darkly as I slammed the glass down on the desktop, standing quickly pinching the bridge of my nose.
“They cannot do that, Law states they both must be capable of taking the throne together.” I shouted as I prepared a portal to Council headquarters, stepping through the blue hazy portal, appearing in front of the Council chambers hearing loud commotion as Desmond spoke to the Elders on the other side.
I am a Council Elder, so this involves me also as I pushed opened the large gold encrusted oak doors, stepping into the large oval hall lined with dark mahogany tables, seated with red velvet upholstered, hand carved high back chairs.
Thirteen High Elders oversaw the supernatural Council, each realm presented by two representatives, the thirteenth seat was for the Royal Lycan Queen to represent the other realms, such as the Bears, hybrids, and were-cats which had a variety, but agreed to be grouped as one class.
“Why was I not informed of this meeting?” I asked annoyed as Desmond shot me a pointed glare as I took my seat behind the table.
“Well it looks like you got the memo.” Ella huffed annoyed as she rolled her eyes at me in disgust.
Fucking Dog! I silently shouted as I looked pointed back at Desmond.
“Watch your tone Ella, you are already under investigation.” I shot back as she stood up huffing angrily, slamming her fist against the solid wood top as she pointed her finger at me.
“Yeah, who’s idea was it to open the investigation, Jonah?” Ella shot back as Desmond watched pleased with the bantering between the Elders.
“Back to the situation at hand. King Desmond is petitioning the Elder Council to allow the Royal Lycan King to take his throne given the fact his mate, Queen Luna Mei has been placed under an enchantment by a rogue Witch.” Ella stated clearly as everyone nodded in agreement with her statement.
Fucking half-twits agreeing with this ploy to take over.
“Under which grounds does the Law state that only the Lycan King can take the throne. Both King and Queen must be present to be crowned as the sitting Lycan Royals.” I rebutted quickly staring each Elder down sternly.
“This is a special situation. No one knew that a rogue witch would attack Queen Mei, causing her to be stuck in Lycan form.” Desmond stated as he paced slowly in front of the Elders, making sure he made eye contact.
“King Hilo is backing this decision along with High Priestess Morgan. Ella who is standing in for the Lycan Elder also agrees. King Jeremy of the human realm has also endorsed this letter I presented earlier as his agreement to this request.” Desmond proudly stated as he stood tall looking down at me with a pointed stare, crossing his arms across his broad chest.
“First off. Ella has no vote in this matter seeing she is under investigation, so the thirteenth seat is a void vote. Secondly, King Hilo has to council with me being one of the sitting Elders for the Fairy realm.” I stated coldly as I leaned back against the velvet chair.
“Still even without the thirteenth seat vote and King Hilo, the vote is still favored by the Vampire, Werewolf, Witch, and Human Realms.” Ella stated as she held up a parchment containing the legal signatures of the agreeing realms.
“If I were you Jonah, I would tread lightly in this matter. King Hilo is not pleased that he could not reach you. He saw firsthand what happened to Queen Mei, and High Priestess Morgan is currently with Mei, trying to reverse the enchantment.” Ella stated as she handed Desmond a signed parchment granting the permission to resume the Coronation ceremony.
“Meeting adjured.” Ella stated as she slammed the solid mahogany gavel to close the meeting.
“This is bullshit.” I shouted as I slammed my fists against the solid wood top.
Desmond smiled sinisterly as he waved his fingers at me “poofing” out of the room. Ella was picking up paperwork she had laid out in front of her as everyone left quickly avoiding my gaze.
“Jonah, I know what you are up to, and I will make sure you never see the light of day for a very long time.” Ella said coldly as she opened the large chamber doors, heading out into the main hall of headquarters.
“FUCK ME!” I shouted as Vance slipped in from the side holding room with a large smile on his face.
“What are you so fucking happy about?” I shouted as I poured a glass of water from the pitcher on the table watching as Vance flashed a sinister smirk.
“I managed to slip a little something into Mei’s diet.” Vance laughed as we hastily made our way down to my chamber’s office. Motioning to him to enter as I scanned the hallway for any witnesses of our meeting.
“What exactly did you manage to slip into her “Diet”?” I asked coldly as I poured a bourbon, downing it in one gulp pouring another as I slid down into my high-back cream leather chair.
“Liquid silver-wolfsbane mixed with some of the “cocktail” Raven had stored overseas.” Vance laughed darkly as I felt my lips twitch into a sinister smile.
“Perfect! Silver-wolfsbane is poisonous to wolves and the cocktail will increase the spread of the poison. Fucking Marvelous!” I shouted as I downed my bourbon, pointing to Vance to pour himself one also.
“I thought the “cocktail” turned into an aerosol once removed from the vial?” I asked as he handed me another bourbon with a large evil smile.
“Not when you mix the contents under a pressurized mixer.” Vance laughed darkly as he leaned back in the chair across from my desk, tipping his glass at me in salute.
“Her Lycan will go full-on beast mode, then die suddenly from the silver-wolfsbane pumping through her body.” I laughed darkly as I leaned my head back, closing my eyes envisioning the murderous sight that will erupt.
No one will second guess my claim of the Lycan race being untrustworthy, and volatile. The Royal Elders will have no choice, but to banish any Lycan from taking the Royal throne.
Fucking Vance finally proved to be helpful.
“Alpha Jack will break completely after his mate dies, leaving the Werewolf Realm in chaos.” Vance laughed darkly as we shared evil smiles between the silence of the office walls.
Demon Wolf curse strikes again. Laughing silently as I laid my head against the plush Italian leather back, basking in my soon-to-be victory.
