Chapter Twenty-three

Max:

Well, I guess this goes to show everyone that you cannot Fucking trust no one. My trust falls into a small circle that includes anyone vetted by Aki and Kyou. Those two can pinpoint down to the “T” who can be and cannot be trusted. Like right now, I am a raging pissed off wolf-bear, aiming for the jugular of the one Fucking person I helped after her father died.

“Max what did Atlas say?” Seth linked as we both pounded our paws into the moist ground, heading towards the “Slums” of the city.

“They have been causing problems with her clients between the natural shop, or the Parlor. They pretty much used her legacy against her. She says “she had no idea who Mei was” just Jonah gave her a picture, telling her to gain control over the Lycan.” I shouted annoyed as I saw the “Whistling Star: Natural Shop” appear in the distance as we shifted into human form.

Slipping into an alley dressing quickly, cause to most, we do not exist. Casually hooking Seth’s arm as we strolled down the garbage littered street, opening the door for Seth with a whimsical chiming noise.

“After you good Sir.” I laughed with a horrible British accent, while Seth laughed nodding his head.

“Good Day mate.” Seth replied in a sexy Aussie accent, that granted a quick ass smack as the burning sage, and applewood filled our nostrils.

“Give Me a sec.” Atlas shouted from the backroom, where she kept her herbs and other ingredients for conjuring magic.

“I DON’T HAVE ALL DAY ATLAS.” I shouted feeling the rage swirling violently inside as Seth placed his hand on my shoulder, giving me a calming stare.

“Right. I have everything I need. Let me correct my wrong.” Atlas stated hastily as she stepped out in her silver velvet hooded robe with a large enchanted bag slung over her shoulder.

“You’re lucky Atlas! I am under strict orders plus this is my friend and Godchild we are talking about.” I snapped coldly as she froze mid-step looking at us with bright amber eyes.

“Who is this?” Atlas cooed as she studied Seth head to toe, licking her lips seductively, granting a low growl from me as I stepped over to Seth.

“Possessive much Max?” Atlas laughed as she drew a symbol on the midnight blue painted wall to her right.

“Now is not the time to joke Atlas. Alpha Jack is not as understanding as me and given the situation, it is taking everything in me not to rip you to pieces.” I snapped back coldly as Seth stepped in front of me, watching as the symbol glowed white opening a portal, like the ones Jonah and the Elders use.

“I understand, and I will face my punishment once I break the enchantment.” Atlas spoke softly as she stepped through the portal followed by Seth and me, landing right outside of the west cell block.

Loud guttural howling screams ripped through the hallway as we were stopped by Eli, Desmond, and Izzy.

“What the hell is going on?” Seth asked as I nudged his side playfully smiling my sexy smirk.

Atlas had this sly smirk plastered across her face as she leaned against the cinderblock wall, receiving low hisses from Izzy as her eyes flashed deep crimson red.

“I take it that you are “Her”?” Izzy hissed darkly as Desmond wrapped his arms around her waist, flashing his fangs at Atlas.

“Unfortunately, Yes. Jonah is not a person to mess with. When he says “Jump” you jump.” Atlas laughed darkly as she closed her eyes chanting softly.

“Do not do anything stupid girl.” Desmond hissed as I paced slowly looking at Seth with large bright eyes.

“Don’t worry King Desmond, I am placing a ward and barrier around the territory; cause Jonah will know when I break the enchantment. We need him to believe that he still has the upper hand.” Atlas spoke calmly as she opened her eyes, catching movement from the hallway as Jack sauntered down the hall baring his fangs,
fighting to maintain his composure. Snarling…

“I should kill you now, but my wife and unborn pup need you.” Jack growled darkly as he fixed his tussled hair, cleaning up the seeping blood that streamed slowly from the claw marks across his chest.

“She is calm, now break the enchantment.” Jack barked darkly as we all followed him down the hallway were Mei was pacing slowly scanning the cell, then her eyes fell on Atlas, lunging violently against the silver bars of the cell, swiping her claws, snarling demonically at her.

“Mei, she is here to fix this. Jonah threatened to do the same as you, but as a sex slave.” I spoke softly as I held my hand out watching as her eyes flashed between black and jade, before she dropped her snout into my palm.

“Oh, good. Atlas you have some serious explaining, but first lets fix this.” Morgan sung darkly as she held her hands out to Mei.

Mei stepped back slowly, crouching down as we entered the cell while Morgan and Atlas started drawing symbols on the walls and floor, while Jack, Seth, and I sat with Mei. She whimpered softly as she nudged all three of us as Desmond and Izzy lit the candles that Morgan placed in each corner of the cell.

“Mei, I hope you can find the forgiveness to forgive me. I was scared.” Atlas spoke to Mei as she motioned for her to lay down, drawing invisible symbols against her stomach.

“Is the barrier in place?” Morgan asked Desmond as he “poofed” quickly then “poofed’ back.

“Yes, the Watchmen are positioned.” Desmond responded as he stood with Izzy holding each other comfortably.

“The Watchmen. How the hell did you find the Watchmen?” Atlas shouted excitedly.

“Their my sons.” Izzy snapped coldly as Desmond squeezed her gently, kissing her forehead.

Atlas held her hands above Mei’s stomach, while Morgan chanted running the tip of her finger along the edge of a silver chalice. Her hands glowing blue as she increased her chanting, laying her hands-on top of Mei’s stomach, while Morgan sliced their palms dripping the blood into the chalice.

“Mei drink this.” Morgan spoke softly as Mei held her snout to the chalice, licking in the contents with a hast.

“Now what?” Jack asked as he stroked Mei’s head, while Seth and I sat quietly watching as Mei’s body started to shake violently, whimpering loudly as the loud cracking sound echoed hauntedly around the concrete cell walls.

Her silvery-white fur began to resend as her limbs snapped, dislocating back into position as her tanned ivory flesh appeared slowly. Her once long ebony locks had now turned a soft silver color, while her Golden eyes shined brightly at us with large goofy smiles. She looked up from Jack’s lap, running her hand across his cheek as he smiled brightly at her, kissing her gently on the forehead.

“Hey handsome.” She whispered hoarsely as she cleared her throat.
