Chapter 12 - The Boyfriend

I woke up after a long nap and found Sebastian sleeping on the sofa. I got up from the bed and saw there's a lot of food on the table in front of him. I went to the bathroom first and made my way to the food.

I sat down on the ground looking all of the food that Sebastian bought, I can't even choose which one to eat first.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" I turned to Sebastian as he sat up straight.

"I feel better but still having a headache." I said and he nodded.

"You can eat anything you want." He said and he got up from the sofa. He walked out from the room leaving me with all these delicious foods. I took the mushroom cream soup first and then I grabbed the steak.

I was busy eating my food when Sebastian came in with a jug of water. He sat on the floor beside me and I gave him a spoon and fork for him to join me.

"Thank you.. for all of this." I said and he smiled.

"Don't be sick, I was worried." He said as he grabbed a piece of steak.

"Noted." I said and my phone rang all of the sudden. I got up to get it from the night stand. It's Elijah and I was debating whether I should take it or not because I don't want him to visit me all of the sudden.

I sat down on the floor again looking at my phone screen.

"Just eat." I turned to Sebastian, he gestured me to put down my phone and continue to eat. I decided to listen to him and continued to eat.

After she ate her food, Elijah called her again. She picked up the call and she put it on loud speaker since she's still eating some macaroons.

"I heard from Lia that you're sick." Elijah said.

"But I'm feeling better already." Isabelle said as she leaned her body to the sofa. I put my hand on her forehead and she looked at me.

"I went to your house but you're not there, where are you?" Elijah asked and I gestured her to listen to Elijah.

"What?"

"I went to your house, where the hell are you?" He asked once again and she turned to me.

"I gotta go, call you later." She immediately ended the call.

"You don't want to tell him?" I asked and she shook her head.

"It's better for us not to tell him, he might be my best friend but he won't give a good reaction to our relationship."

"I think he likes you, that's why he won't give a-"

"I know that, he's better as a friend than a lover." She said and then she grabbed another macaroon.

"You need to eat your medicine again after this." I said as I got up.

"Okay."

"I'll be in my study room if you need me."

"I'll be going first, I'll see you there." Sebastian said and I nodded. I put my earrings on and looked at myself in the mirror one last time before getting up. I put on my heels and grabbed my bag making my way out of the room.

There's a lot of boxes in right across Sebastian's room. Tomorrow, I'm officially moving to my own room. I'm excited to have space because we've been sleeping side by side and sometimes I woke up in the middle of the night to work. I was afraid that it might wake him up.

I walked out from the house and got into my car. My chauffeur drove me towards the Elite Club 40th Years celebration. Our families will be there and of course, we will pretend that we don't like each other.

I walked into the venue and the first person who greeted me was Grace McKenzie. We talked about Dubai again because that's when we've got to know each other.

"Oh.. actually.. I was going to go to your office this Tuesday." She said all of the sudden.

"Oh really?"

"Yes, I was planning to introduce you to my nephew." Oh no.

"Oh.." I was speechless, I can't say that I'm already married.

"You have a boyfriend?" She asked and I was going to say yes when Elijah suddenly put his arm around my shoulder.

"He's my boyfriend." I pointed spontaneously.

"Oh I see, I guess I was already too late." She smiled and I nodded.

"Thank you though, I appreciate it."

"It's fine, I know you're such a nice girl so I just thought why not." Grace said as she looked at me and Elijah.

"She is, Mrs. McKenzie." Elijah said as he kissed the top of my head. Grace then excused herself because she wanted to greet other people. I turned to Elijah and sighed.

"That was close, by the way.. since when that I'm your boyfriend?" Elijah smirked and I glared at him.

"Shut up. She was going to introduce me to her nephew."

"Usually you're up to that, what makes you don't want to go? Is it because you realize that you're in love with me?" Elijah said in a teasing tone.

"The answers is no for the second question." I said as I walked away but Elijah held my hand intertwining his fingers to mine.

"You're mean, you should pay after I played to be your boyfriend." He whispered to my ear and I rolled my eyes.

"I'll buy you lunch tomorrow." I said as I turned away from him.

"How about you be my girlfriend? A real one." I turned to Elijah, did he just ask me out here?

"Isabelle!" I turned to see Rosie. I squealed when I saw her and I can't help but to hug her tightly.

"I've missed you!" I said as I pulled away.

"I know, it's been 2 years. How's life?"

"Rosie." Elijah greeted her and Rosie just looked at him and then turned back to me. Elijah and Rosie hooked up once and it didn't end well at all.

"Get lost." Rosie hissed.

"We'll talk again later, Isabelle." Elijah said and I nodded.
