Chapter 9 - Sick of This Marriage

Isabelle Orsino

I got home pretty late because I took the last flight from New York back to LA. I tried not to make a sound because I know Sebastian is sleeping. I walked upstairs and opened the door as slowly as possible.

"God! You scared me!" I screamed after seeing him standing near the door looking at me with a light from his phone.

"I thought you're going to stay in New York until tomorrow." He said in not so friendly tone.

"Don't worry, I will try to leave home as much as possible." I said as I closed the door behind me.

"That's not what I meant." Sebastian sighed. "You always translate my words into something else, huh?"

"Isn't that what you want? You clearly don't like it when you know that I will go to the launching party. I try my best not to show up in front of your face." I said trying my best to stay calm.

"I told you not to cancel it." He said and I turned to him.

"It already happened, you don't need to repeat it again." I said and I walked to the closet.

"People talked about you." I stopped.

"Let them talk, I don't really care. Why should you care too?" I said sighing.

"Okay." With that, I walked into the closet closing the door. I put my bag on my vanity and looked at myself in the mirror. I took off my make up and took a quick shower. I put my PJs on and walked out from the bathroom.

Sebastian already fell asleep and I walked out from the room to go downstairs. I sat on the bench facing the garden and sighed.

I guess only Elijah and Valencia who will always trust me. Sebastian will always be like everyone else.

Sebastian Grey

I got up in the middle of the night sweating, I turned to the side to see that the other side of the bed is empty. I got off my bed to lower down the temperature of my air conditioner.

I looked out the window to see that Isabelle's car is still there, it means she's still here. I walked out from my room slowly and went downstairs to check on her. There's no signs of her in the house and I saw the back door open so I decided to go there.

"It's okay, I'm okay." I heard she said.

"It's dawn and I'm at my parents house. You don't need to come, I can handle myself." She sighed.

"El.. I'm fine." Of course, it's Elijah.

"Okay, I will. I'll text you tomorrow, I can pick you up if you want." She chuckled and I found myself walking out to the garden. Her eyes widen when she saw me.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow, bye." She ended the call and she put her phone down.

"What? I'm not allowed to be here?" She didn't even bother to look at me.

"I didn't say anything." I said and she grabbed her phone walking back into the house. I walked in and closed the door.

"Isabelle." I called her and she was walking so fast towards the stairs. I quickly caught on to her and grabbed her wrist.

"You should stop assuming things." I said looking straight into her eyes. "We already married and this is your house too. You can be anywhere you want but how do you expect me to react when I don't see my wife beside me at dawn? Seeing you just drive out from the mansion on our wedding day made me think that you left the house." She looked down and that's when it hit me. She was upset when the words that I said.

"Do you like smores?" I asked and she nodded. I held her hand and brought her to the kitchen. I took out some biscuits, chocolates and marshmallows. I grabbed some sticks and turned on the stove. I started burning the marshmallow while Isabelle put the chocolates on the biscuits.

"Were you upset?" I asked.

"Did you eaves dropping?" She asked back and I turned to her.

"Not really, just heard you saying whoevers on the phone that you will pick them up tomorrow. That's it." I lied.

"Were you upset by my words?" I asked again.

"No." She lied.

"Okay." Of course, she trusts Elijah more.

"Here you go." I pressed the biscuit over the marshmallow and gave it to her.

"Thank you." She said as she took a bite right away.

"How was it?"

"It's good." She smiled while enjoying it. I made another one for myself. I grabbed another biscuit to make a smore and took a bite.

"I think my room will be ready tomorrow, I'll move my things quickly and use that room." She said and I nodded.

"Tomorrow, I will come home late or maybe I will go home the next day." She announced.

"Where are you going?"

"It's Elijah's birthday, I'm going to spend time with him."

"He seems like a nice guy." I blurted out of nowhere.

"He is."

"Why didn't you marry him?" She stopped chewing and looked straight into my eyes.

"The both of you are close and he seems like a nice guy, I bet your parents like him more than me."

"You're right, I should have marry him. Maybe I'll marry him once we get a divorce." She said and somehow her words made me angry.

"You're not my first choice either, I bet you heard about it already." She said in a really cold tone.

"I'm going to sleep, good night." She walked out from the kitchen and went upstairs. I found myself throwing my smores into the trash, I was not happy with her statements.

Hope that she will have a lot of fun tomorrow, she's even clueless that Elijah is in love with her.

God help me go through this marriage, I'm sick of it already.
