Chapter 18 - Don't Give Me Hope

Isabelle Orsino

The main event already ended and now all the staff were distributing alcohol around the room. This is the perfect timing for all the businessmen to talk with each other.

I decided to go to the toilet.

Speaking of the devil, Candice is in the toilet too. She's currently putting on her lipstick. I decided to do my business instead of making eye contact with her.

I walked out and washed my hands. Candice was actually waiting for me.

"You and Sebastian, you both are rivals right?" She asked.

"And why is that important to you?"

"Cause I'm willing to tell you some secrets about him." She said and I smirked.

"Secrets huh? You're trying to get some money from me, aren't you?" I said as I grabbed some tissues to wipe my hands.

"I mean.. why not?" She's shameless.

"How much do you want?" I asked as I took out my lipstick.

"500.000 dollars." She said and I raised my eyebrows.

"What if I already know the secret?" I asked as I put on my lipstick.

"I guarantee you that you can use it on.. dragging him down." She said and I put my lipstick back.

"That's pretty tempting but no thanks." I said and I walked out from the bathroom.

"God help her.." I whispered and walked back into the ballroom.

"Hello Isabelle." I stopped walking when I heard Gio's voice.

"Hello Gio, how are you?" I asked as I turned to him.

"Good, how about you? Still opening your legs at the clubs?" He smirked mocking me and I crossed my arms in front of my chest. He really chose to mock me in this type of event. He really hates me huh?

"I never thought you still care about me that much, you never stop thinking about me huh?" I asked and I could see people already whispering and talking about us.

"Care? Why should I care about the woman who cheated on me?" Gio leaned closer to me but Elijah came just right in time to save me.

"Listen you little dick, spreading lies won't make you famous." Elijah said and Gio grabbed his collar.

"Don't make me kill you.."

"Feel free to kill me here." Elijah said and Gio punched Elijah until he fell down to the floor. Gio turned to me.

Sebastian Grey

I was busy talking to people when I heard people whispering with each other. I turned following where exactly the source of attention and of course, it's none other than my wife.

She was talking to Gio who happened to be her ex. Isabelle crossed her arms in front of her looking at him arrogantly and he was saying something to her.

I was going to get her but Elijah stood in front of her right away. Elijah said something to him that made him angry.

Gio grabbed Elijah's collar and said something to him. Elijah said something back and Gio threw a punch at him until he's on the floor. Gio turned to Isabelle and that's when I quickly run towards her. Elijah stood up to take another action but I stopped him.

"I think you should take a step back." I said to Gio and he turned to me.

"Grey, I think I'm giving you a favor here." Gio said and I could feel Isabelle pulled my suit from the back.

"What favor exactly?" I asked and Gio raised his eyebrows.

"That's it! I'm getting a restraining order against you and I will sue you for good." Isabelle stood in front of me all of the sudden and then she walked away. Elijah followed her and I put my hands into my pockets looking at Gio.

"You should thank me, I can bring her down." Gio said and I walked closer to him. I leaned to his ear.

"Listen Gio, I want you to listen carefully. I will sue you for this and you will countdown your days before you go to jail because the woman that you threatened earlier is my wife." I whispered and pulled away to see his face turned pale.

"How about you shut your mouth and never appear in front of us again? I can crush your business in blink of an eye." I said still only his ears can hear it. I smirked and took a step back.

"You should think about it, buddy." I said as I patted his shoulder.

Isabelle Orsino

As soon as I got home, Sebastian was already waiting in the living room. I walked towards him and sat down beside him.

"Can you let me know what exactly happened between the two of you? Cause I'm sueing that man." I turned to him disbelief.

"You.. sued him?"

"Called my lawyer already, I will sue him right away after our honeymoon." And again, this man surprised me.

"I don't even know where to start.."

"From the beginning, I want you to tell me all of it." He said and I nodded.

After I finished calling my lawyer, they process the case and get deep into it once we get home from the honeymoon. I turned to Isabelle who's currently hugging her legs and looking down to the floor.

She told me the whole story and I can't believe that she let herself being dragged by Gio. She's being accused of a lot of things that she didn't do. How can she hide all of that?

All of these years, I thought Isabelle Orsino is one of the the toughtest women out there but I never thought she's actually so fragile.

Elijah never seemed to protect her that much, he let it all pass in front of his eyes. He only protects her when she got threatened but that won't change a thing.

"Thank you, Sebastian." Isabelle looked up to me and I nodded.

"But.. next time, I can handle all of it alone, I always did so you don't need to do this next time." That made me raise my eyebrows.

"You never even handle it, how can you-"

"Let's not make this attachment, Grey. I don't want to drag you all way back after we get a divorce because of this." She cut me and I looked at her completely speechless.

"Don't give me hope, cause I don't think I would be able to cope with life after this."
