Nineteen

“You know, you could also get a shower.”
“You’re saying I smell?” I mocked her, and my voice came out huskier than I intended, playing so close to her ears, sending shivers down her back. I affected her more than she cared to admit.
“Not to be rude, but yes… grizzly, you do!” She smirked at me. “You go ahead, and while you take your shower, I’ll check the pantry for food!”
I got pushed to the bathroom, and she closed the door behind my back. What was I supposed to do? Anger and frustration poured on me as I opened the door again to find her bent over something in the wardrobe. What a delightful view! Maybe those manly trousers weren’t so bad on her after all.
It’s been almost three days since I brought her here, and I dedicated myself to heal her from whatever had happened, but this last hour has been a challenge of sorts. The only thing going on my mind was to throw her on that bed and make her mine again, but she didn’t know who I was. Well, she knew me from her dreams, but I didn’t like the expression she used, ‘haunted her dreams.’ She talked to me just like my Liz when she had been delirious, but the point was, from dreams or nightmares, she knew me.
“Alizandra!” She jumped from the furniture, staring at me, wide eyes and hands on her hips. This version of her had a little more meat on her bones, setting my imagination wild.
“What now?”
“What am I supposed to do in there?” I pointed inside.
“What do you do in a bathroom?” I didn’t answer her, and she got a little frustrated, biting her lower lip and glaring at me. “Ok, fine. Hold it.”
She gave the candles and pushed me out of the way, getting into the room. She walked straight to a small dresser, fumbling through the drawers. I kept myself quiet, just observing her moving around, and believe me, it was a dream I didn’t want to wake up from.
“You know, these little cabins always have some supplies for the entire season. Jackpot!” She turned to me with a few items in her hands all smiley. I could do no less than admire her. “Here.” She dropped everything on me.
“What should I do with these?” My angry voice resounded in that small area, making it louder than it was, and puzzlement took her face.
“You weren’t kidding when you said you lived under a rock, right?” Her tone became silky, and her eyes softened when I nodded to her. “Ok. Here, this is a toothbrush.”
“It looks like one, a different version, but yes.”
“Great, you know what it is! This is a toothpaste.” Since she got no reaction from me, she just kept going. “You put some paste here and brush your teeth, like this. Got it?” I was having fun with her explaining to me all these little things as if I was a child. I imagined for how long I had slept. “This is a soap bar, when you’re under the water you rub in your body.” Then she sniffed this soap, frowning a bit. “Not bad.”
“I know what a soap is!” Now I got annoyed. I may be a little behind with the modernities, but not knowing what soap was, it stung. I wasn’t so outdated! Before I gave her a piece of my mind, she turned her back to me, playing with the two handlers I didn’t notice before. After a few moments water came out from above me, pouring like rain.
“Well, I guess you didn’t see one of those before, huh?”
“Yes, but the first versions of it, this is much better.” I stepped back and shook my head, looking at it. She gave me a naughty smirk that I forgot all about the water.
“If you think this is nice, wait for the one in my house!” She fell silent, munching over what she had said. “Well, here are some towels for you to dry off.” She looked at me, hopeful she had covered all the basics. “Just a minute.” Liz ran to the other room and came back with a bunch of fabric in her hands. “I found these clothes in the wardrobe. I think now you’re all set.” Then she left me to it.
It was interesting how things worked. She was already so in tune with me that she only realized that when she spoke about the shower in her house. Why would she mention it if it wasn’t her intention to take me home with her? There was no mistake. Her soul recognized mine.
I put everything on top of the dresser and looked at myself in the mirror again. My appearance was getting better, as my skin had gained some color and my muscles got stronger by the hour. Since I had woken up, I supplied myself with animal blood, so it took longer to regenerate than I wanted to.
I grabbed the same knife I used before, working some more on my hair and beard, but it irritated me to wake up to a time when I felt so helpless. I had been a ruler, Lord! When have I fallen so low?
I turned to the shower, falling like rain in the bathtub, and with my palms up, I put them under the water, letting it run through my fingers, and it already ran heated. Things really changed in the world. How good was that? There was no more the need to fetch and boil the water, ready for use. Marvelous. Getting rid of my clothes, I couldn’t wait to try this new thing.
Brushing my teeth got on my nerves, and all that foam in my mouth made me gag, but after a while, it felt good, with a pleasant taste on my tongue. Different. These new soaps were nicer, they smelled wonderful, and left my body smelling of some kind of flower. Yes, I could get used to these things. I did everything she told me to, and just to think about her, my body responded and my cock twitched. Coming alive after so long.
I rested my forehead on the wall, letting the water do its miracle, soothing my muscles. Alizandra. I didn’t know how to act around her. Everything would be easier if she knew who I was and what we had meant to each other, but I hoped she would get her past life memories back. I’ve already had proof of that.
It was just a matter of time, but we needed to have a serious talk. I had lots of questions that needed answers. I had to get to know her again and find out who she was, as I noticed an array of differences in her that confuses me a lot. She would have questions, and I had to prepare myself for her disbelief.
God, a battle approached my way and probably it would be the hardest fight of my life. My mind wandered from past to present, driving me insane. I shut down the shower, and to my surprise, steam enveloped the entire room. It was a pleasant feeling. I dried myself and put the fresh clothes on. They were funny looking, but good for now.
Dread invaded me, making me wince. I pressed my hand to my chest and tried to suppress the sudden heaviness that formed there. Something was wrong. Liz! I burst the bathroom door open, coming to an empty room.
“That little weasel bailed on me!” I screamed and punched at the wall, the muscle in my jaw jerked and my fangs exploded in my mouth, I felt them pricking on my tongue. Why would she do such a thing? I trusted her.
Rage consumed me as my demon awakened. Hell was coming on her way, and I hope she got prepared for it, because she didn’t know with whom she messed. I opened the front door and let myself feel my surroundings. That little weasel wasn’t far from here, about a mile or so to the west. I inhaled and launched myself into Liz's direction, following her flowery scent, and in no time I reached for her.
She couldn’t see me, but she knew something was following her, as for several times she stopped looking around. She came to a halt, and I was on her like a rabid wolf.
“I don’t think you’re well enough for a nightly walk, draga mea! Are you going somewhere?” My warm breath on her neck made her shiver. I embraced her, covering her mouth, muffling her cries. She struggled, and I felt the surge of power in her, but she had no chance against me. “Easy, dragă. Calm yourself down, you’re not blowing me away this time.” I warned her.
“Why? Why do I feel this way around you?” She sounded so defeated. “How did you find me?” Shivers of fear coursed in her bones. It wasn’t how I wanted things to turn out.
