Seventy-Eight

Lights came from the other side, and the entire room charged. I didn’t know what was going on, but the only thing that had my focus was the hilarious look on my brother’s face. He didn’t know with whom he messed with; he didn’t realise the power she yielded. The shocked and confused expression on his semblance was priceless. She didn’t back out since my Liz didn’t take threats lightly.
I glanced over at Anton, and I had no clue what kind of being he was, but he was my loyal brother, and the exultant face he had on told me he just got dessert before dinner, and made me love him more. I even had forgotten about the harrowing pain in my leg.
The four men pointing guns at us were there, transfixed with pain and horror on their faces. Jack was one of them, glued to the floor and unable to move as electrical currents made him clutch his jaw to the point of grinding his teeth, almost shattering them. Once I got free, I’d have to feed, and I stared at the four men as if they were cattle, unaware of the predator prowling them. I bet they shit their pants when they saw their deaths in my eyes.
Radu’s response to Liz dawned on me, and I glanced at Anton, then we looked at my brother. The puny bastard stared at us like we had grown ten heads with snakes on them. The circumstances were perilous, but we fell into a laughing fit. Tears streamed down our faces as we glanced at each other with mischief, but with great satisfaction.
“If there is a joke here, please share.” My brother roared at us, his eyes flickering red. “Are you laughing your deaths off?” He was losing it and his cool demeanor was crumbling piece by piece.
“You, you’re the joke. Let me get this straight.” I had Anton full of amusement in his voice, as he didn’t contain his laughter. “You architected all this, to get back at Ioan because you stole from him, and he must have retaliated at you by taking away some of your powers, am I correct? Probably you must have gotten pissed once you discovered he had cursed Vlad and the pebble in your shoe was still there, making your silky foot bleed even more!” Man, I could kiss him right now. No, I wouldn’t. I laughed so hard my insides were cramping, and I no longer felt my pain.
A loud sound echoed in the room and when I turned to my side, my beauty was there, shining beyond imagination, all charged up, static hair floating around her like a halo, gliding above ground with glowing eyes, looking at Radu as if he was a tick on a horse ready to be plucked out. I loved that woman, and my cock sprang to life in the confines of my pants. I just couldn’t help myself! My smile got wider on my lips when she put her eyes on mine, and waves of love and concern washed over me.
“Can I be part of the joke?” she asked in that smooth, but a bit husky, melodious voice of her. If my brother’s eyes could get any larger, they did, bulging out of his face. Now he realized the deep shit he was in.
“Let me illuminate yourself, puny prick.” And the way it started, it finished. Anton’s demeanor changed back to the warrior he was, and he faced my brother like the weasel he was. “Let me show you what this doormat can do.” Pushing his hands apart, the chain fell into pieces by his feet. The fragments got sucked into the dagger like an incantation when he touched them with its tip.
“You’re not like us!” It was the only thing he breathed out with in bewilderment.
“Surprise, little brother, and for your information, Ioan has been dead for about six hundred years, asshole!” Anton sucked the chain out of my wrist, freeing me, drawing his sword and monitoring Radu.
I didn’t waste my time, as I blurred behind Jack. “This is to teach you not to betray who trusts you!” I sank my canines into his neck with no care, ripping his flash and tissues and sucking him dry, not leaving one drop of blood in his veins. I didn’t press his throat. His desperate and agonized screams were music to my ears, and I was enjoying it too much. Until that moment, my brother acted like a dumb bastard. Well, it was not far from the truth, but he was cunning and staring at me, his eyes dark red.
Liz stood there watching the entire scene, and I saw the depraved look scintillating in her eyes, as if I was giving her an orgasm for mauling Jack’s neck. Yes, my queen was pissed. I pictured how she would feel when I put my fangs on Shane, and just the thought of it made my cock twitch in happiness.
Right behind her, Alice came through the door sporting a dangerous, fearful look on the face, falling on her knees close to him as waves of her distress beat at me. Alice’s fear was for my brother. I didn’t know what was the deal between those two, but his eyes flickered and softened when she came into view, slightly shaking his head, signaling for her to stay put. Brother dearest also had his weakness, after all.
“Alexandra…” Doctor Blake whispered, stumbling into the room, wide eyes as if he was delusional. He stepped back until he hit the wall, sliding to the floor. Poor old man. Liz didn’t even acknowledge him. She seemed to be in a kind of trance, but her eyes were everywhere, and she was ready to strike if someone dared to leave their places or do something stupid.
Everything happened around under my watchful eyes. I didn’t miss one movement inside the room, as I couldn’t give myself the luxury not to be on alert. Jack laid motionless on the floor like a torn rag doll, and one by one, I ripped their necks open, but never leaving my brother’s eyes. I took pleasure in seeing his disgusted face every time I pierced a vein and fresh blood gushed out. I was on my last meal, and my wound wasn’t there anymore when a shadow came from a secret door behind me. Shane. I was waiting for that rat.
*‘No, old friend, that punk is mine, it’s time for you to take care of your brother, if you know what I mean.’* I smirked, listening to him.
*‘It’s good having you back in my head, Anton.’* He chuckled, and I turned to Liz. *‘Dragă. Look at me, love.’* She was so far away, like a Goddess hanging in the air, ready to pass her sentence. *‘Liz! I’m talking to you! It’s enough, dragă. I thank you for what you’ve done, but I’m taking over from now on!’* She looked at me, glassy eyes and squinting to focus on my words.
*'No, I feel his emotions, he’s ready to take you down, and I won’t let it happen.’* She growled at me, still in that torpor, her mind a red haze of hatred.
My brother just observed the entire scene taking place, his mind working overtime. He didn’t take his eyes from Liz, and he didn’t make his move yet, not because of me or Anton, but her, he didn’t know what to expect from that powerful creature, staring at him with her murderous lavenders which glowed white for the moment and broadcasting her emotions so openly at him in a dare of sorts.
*‘Don’t make me bring you down from there, I said enough!’* My tough voice boomed in her brain, and she fell limp on the ground, sweating pouring out of her body, as she tried to grasp some air, as if waking up from one of her nightmares. It was then Doc rushed and gathered her in his arms, taking a few strands of hair out of her face.
Radu opened his arms and called his sword, as I expected. He was a coward and has always been. He had hidden it somewhere in the room. Shane tried to make a move on me, but Anton didn’t give him the chance, catching him at the same minute with a merciless posture and pleasure in his shining red eyes. Shane was a walking corpse, and he was about to come to this conclusion.
“You and I have a few things to discuss, punk!” Anton lunged at him, directing them to a corner eager to teach him how a man should treat a woman.
“Now brother, it’s between you and me!” I said to him as I drew my Toledo, swinging around me and walking towards that coward. “You wanted a piece of me, you’ve got it!” I hissed and my demon roared in my head. It was then, Alice screams sounded and to my surprise she ran to him.
