Twenty-Nine

I grabbed the glass and gulped the whole thing down without taking my eyes from her. My findings didn’t make me happy as guilt for what happened to me showed on her face. I only confirmed the truth to her, because she got flashes of her past life, and she would remember everything in a matter of time.
“How come you ate food in the cabin?”
“I can eat regular food, but I need a large amount of blood at least once a week, but this time around, things are a little different, and they got out of hand,” I said as she put another glass in front of me. I needed to sate the beast inside me. It was disgusting, but I felt the cells, fibers, and muscles regenerating once more to full power, and it felt amazing.
“I’ve got a few things for you, so we can go out!” She changed the subject and retrieved the bags from the floor, dragging me back to the bedroom and emptying the contents on the bed. “Clothes! I hope they are the right size. Come on, dress up.” She handed me a small something written “boxers” on it, and I looked suspiciously at her wicked face. “These are underwear. It’s the first thing you put on under your pants.”
“What are these for?” My confused look made her laugh.
“To secure your precious family jewels and make your rear end sexier!” That girl was playing with fire, so I opened the button of my pants and let it drop to my feet. The look on her face made my demon roar inside my head. Red tinted her from the neck up, and the anguished sound that came from her mouth made me hard in front of her.
“Dragă…”
“Oh, God! Stay where you are.” She warned me, averting her gaze, gasping and crossing her legs. “Go, put it on, I want to take you into town.” She signaled to me without looking, but with a naughty smile on her plump lips.
“Ok, as you wish, lady!” Chuckling, I put that piece of cloth on. “Done.” She turned to me, checking me out from head to toe. Her gaze burned on my muscles and a wave of heat washed over me, driving me insane with desire for her. “Like what you see?”
“What a fine specimen I’ve got for myself…” She licked her parted lips and pressed her legs tighter. The movement didn’t go unnoticed by me, and I could smell her lust. I loved when she flushed, she looked beautiful. “Here, stop teasing and put these at once.”
“What are those?”
“You’ll see. Start with the jeans pants. The mirror is right there.” She pointed to it.
I put the pants on; it was black with faded patches on them. Different from everything I’ve worn. She threw me a dark gray wool sweater, and it had drawings on it. I looked in the mirror, and I couldn’t find myself there…
“What’s wrong?” There was a bit of worry in her tone. “Didn’t you like it?”
“It just feels different, dragă. Thank you for the clothes.”
“Well, I’ve tried to find something that matches your personality. You look God-damn hot!” She winked at me! Why did she do such a thing?
“If you keep this up, we’re going nowhere. Behave.” It came out in a low growl.
“Fine, these are socks and boots, I hope they fit well.” She fumbled through some things. “Now, come, I see you tried my shower!” I followed her, and she smirked.
“Yes! Not quite an interesting experience.”
“So sorry for you!” She made a sad pout. “I’ll make it up to you later, and show you, hands-on, how things work,” she replied, raising an eyebrow with a devilish face on. “Grizzly, these are for you, toothbrush and paste, hairbrush. We’ll get the rest after our visit to Uncle Tony, and we’re gonna be late if we don’t get on the road soon.”
“Who’s this Uncle Tony you speak of?” I turned to her with a foamy mouth. I had to get used to this toothpaste thing. It still made me gag.
“He’s a barber and an awesome tattoo artist, and he will take care of your hair and beard!”
“Why the hell do I need a barber, woman? I can take care of it myself.”
“You can growl as much as you want at me, it’s a non-negotiable deal. I’m not walking around with Bigfoot stuck with me!” Those lavenders glared in my direction as I cleaned up my mouth, staring at her in the mirror. And she was there, staring back at me with her hands resting on her hips just like old times, but I couldn’t afford to get distracted now.
“Alexandra! Stuck with whom?” Sometimes she talked gibberish.
“Never mind.” She gritted out, rolling her eyes. “One of the two will have to go. You look like a messy bear, Vlad!”
“Didn’t you like bears?” I stepped in her direction, and she backpedaled to the door, eyes darkened and fixed on mine.
“I do, no, I don’t!” She blushed harder. “My point is, I like a clean bear.” I kept going. “Vlad! Don’t even start. I talked to him on the phone, and he has agreed to help you out tonight.”
“I don’t need help, Alexandra.” Then my demon raised its head. I could feel my canines on my tongue. “Who’s this man you speak of?” I’ve never thought jealousy was such a green monster, and it was eating me alive, just to think about her talking to another man.
“Cut the crap, right now, or this time I’m not thinking twice before blowing you out of my house, Vlad!” She hit the wall and had nowhere to go. “He’s my dad, my adopted father! What did you think, you pervert?” The air crackled around us. She wasn’t joking, and she would blow me out of there, but this time I prepared myself.
“I’m your husband!”
“No! You WERE Liz’s husband in her past life. Now, you’re just a bear who barged in my life uninvited!” That stung. Her words hurt me more than I could admit to myself. How long would it take for her to see me as such?
“Liz…”
“Don’t make me do it. I don’t wanna hurt you. I’m not Alizandra, and time has changed!” She pleaded with me with sad eyes, but so sure of herself, it made me stop in my tracks. “Breathe, Grizzly. I promise you, soon you will understand the world around you, but until then you have to trust me!”
It took a few minutes for me to come to terms with what she said, and I couldn’t look at her anymore. Everything was so wrong, all of these were wrong. I walked to the sink and splashed some water on my face, trying to control myself. I didn’t see her coming and hugging me from behind, and it felt so perfect, her hand around my chest, close to my heart.
“Be patient, it’s difficult for you, as it’s difficult for me.”
“Tell me about this uncle Tony.” I asked, looking at her in the mirror.
“He’s a barber, and we met when I was about eleven. Come, let’s get going.” She laced her fingers with mine and dragged me out to the room. “Put the coat on, it’s on the bed.”
She went to the living room to get herself ready. I heard her gasp when I showed up. She couldn’t deny the wild attraction we were hostages of. “Ok, Vlad, let’s go before I undress you… God!” She opened the door, going to the garage, and the entire place illuminated. “These are led-lights, a better version to the old light bulbs.” She gazed at me with wonder and lust, but my eyes were already on her bike.
“This is an impressive machine. How come the world developed to build such a feature? I think the last piece of developed machinery I had seen was the steamships in London.”
“If you think my sweetness is impressive, you must see the rest. I can teach you how to ride it.” She put the helmet on my head, then she pecked my lips in a gentle kiss. I wasn’t expecting it, and I was sure my eyes flashed golden by the look on her face. “Listen, you’re going to see many things and changes, and I’m sure it’ll overwhelm you. So, hold on tight to me until we get there, ok.”
Five minutes later, we soared on the road. Night had fallen already, and lights illuminated everywhere. It was beautiful, and I didn’t have words to describe what I saw. The roads had a dark coat in them, and there were other means of transportation, all types differing from one another, all coming and going. Liz, she rode the bike like a second skin to her, zigzagging between all of them, and sometimes so fast I had to strengthen my grip on her. I wish I had seen all these changes I missed while sleeping. I needed to discover what went wrong this time.
