Why, hello Elina!
IVAN
~•~
I was up, bright and early the next morning. What? You thought the boss would have all the time in the world to sleep right? Well, I never did. I always saw my father rise early like he was the fucking janitor. And when I asked why, one day, he told me;
"Son, if you want to successfully run a company, run it from the roots. Don't stand on top of a six story building, or on top of a horse higher than your ego. Come down to the ground. That way, you can see things at the top, and at the bottom."
To be honest, no truer words had ever been spoken.
I did my daily routine workout for an hour, made myself a quick breakfast of toasted bread and lemon tea - even though Antonio was in the kitchen, staring right back at me. I did not want him to bother himself with my breakfast, I was already running out of time.
I knew Tina would still be asleep, so I didn't bother going to her room. I hurried back to mine and took a refreshing and relaxing shower. While trying to forget the fact that Sarah was still on my bed. The woman was just too stubborn for my liking.
I got out of the shower and dressed myself. I put on the lilac coloured tuxedo Antonio had laundered and ironed for today. I threw my feet into a pair of black leather shoes and smacked my Rolex around my left wrist.
With my briefcase in my right hand and my phone on my left, I was ready to go. Antonio was at the foot of my door, he took the briefcase from my hand and walked with me until we got to the car.
He handed the briefcase to my chauffeur, who opened the back door of the car. I slipped myself into my Range Rover, the tinted glasses covered the window of the car almost immediately.
We drove in silence, except for the faint sound blasting from the car's stereo. He parked the car in the building's parking lot and I stepped out of the car. O'Bryan was there to welcome me.
"Good morning, sir. It is a pleasure to see you." He spoke cheerfully, as he took my briefcase from my hand. I placed my phone in his palm and he slipped it into his pocket.
"Mister Trofin would be here in the next ten minutes. He's always had a knack for being awfully polite." O'Bryan said again, checking the time with the wristwatch around his left wrist.
"One of the reasons he's our best client. Do you have any idea why he would be making an appearance himself? He always sends his son…"
"The strange man who looks at you as though he wants to bend you over?" O'Bryan cut in.
I could tell he regretted his sentence almost immediately, because he lowered his head and apologized.
But, he didn't need to, he was actually right.
I shook my head, and fought back my chuckle.
"Yes, that one."
We walked into the office building, and stepped into the elevator that would lead to my office.
When we got to my office corridor, I found Elina walking towards me. She had one file on her hands and a black bodycon dress stuck to her shapely figure.
Talk about bending something over.
She smiled when she stood in front of me, she didn't need to tiptoe to kiss my cheek, her heels made her almost tall enough to reach my face.
"You're here early." She started. Locking my hands in hers as we walked.
"Trofin must have done a number on you, huh?"
"He is responsible for a whopping thirty percent of the millions of dollars that goes in and out of the company. So yes, his money did a number on me." I replied. She playfully punched my arm and led me to my office.
When I settled into my chair, she stood in front of my table and leaned slightly, as though she were deliberately shoving her full breasts into my face. I found myself smiling as I turned away from her.
"What do you want, Elina?"
"Nothing. Just wanted to ask if you needed me to set the boardroom for you."
My eyes glanced up, away from the screen of my personal computer. I fixed my gaze on her.
"That's not your job, Elina."
Her lashes fluttered at me.
"True, but you do know I'll do anything for you."
Yes, I knew that. But, I did have other ideas for how she could help me.
"You know what? I have an idea. You can help me, by being present in the meeting. You know Trofin has something for you. He'll be happy to see you there."
She feigned a frown and stood straight.
"You want me to seduce an old man?"
"You're the one who wanted to help." I chipped in, giving her my most charming smile. Her frown dissolved and I caught her blushing. She masked it with a loud chuckle and shook her head.
"You're something else, Ivan Holloway. You know that, don't you?"
"That I'm different from all the other men in your bed? Yes, I know that."
She scoffed.
"Fuck you."
I fixed my gaze on her, I saw her resolve dissolve in her eyes.
"You already did. And you know you would kill to continue to do so." I spoke calmly, but I saw her throat dance as she swallowed hard.
The tension around us was thick. I could tell I was right, she wanted to.
I saw beads of sweat form on her powdered face. She tried hard to stop her glossy lips from quivering.
When she could not, she resulted in trapping her lower lip underneath her teeth.
Damn. Elina was a really sexy woman.
All of a sudden, the noise from the end of my office corridor caused Elina to turn her back to my glass door. She narrowed her eyes on the empty door, while I tried to cock my head, so as to look past her backside.
"Madam, mister Ivan isn't expecting you. I'm going to need you to…" I could hear O'Bryan's voice approach my office, and I immediately knew who he was speaking to.
Elina must have either figured it out, or seen her, cause she turned sharply towards me with a look of shock on her face, her jaw was dropped and her eyes widened.
I knew why, I just knew why.
In front of me, Sarah's image emerged from the corridor.
Her eyes rested on Elina first. The smile I hated more than anything, formed on her face.
"Why, hello Elina!"
