I will ruin you

She stormed into the study with her phone in her hands. She pressed the speaker on her right ear while she frowned, her right foot tapping the marble floor continuously. It was obvious she was angry, very angry.
Her husband never seemed to miss out on a chance to humiliate her and Sarah Holloway was not sure how long she could tolerate him.
"Tranquilla, non ti preoccupare. It's okay, do not worry about it." The voice at the other end of the phone tried to assure her, but Sarah was far from assured.
"No way, Papa. No way! You needed to see what he did to me at the office today. He embarrassed me, in front of his whore papa! His fucking whore!" Sarah scoffed and placed her sweaty palm on her head.
"Well, you are right about that. She did sleep with him while you were gone. But, it was only once."
Sarah scoffed and settled into her husband's luxurious furniture. She crossed her legs as she leaned into the sofa.
"Thank you, dad. I feel a lot better." The reply was sarcastic, and the voice on the other end of the phone could tell.
"I'm only here because you asked me to return, Papa."
"And you only left because I asked you to leave. Listen to me, Sarah. Don't you want to secure a future for your two children? Don't you want to take back everything his father stole from us? Don't you want to reap the fruit of the labour I laboured? His father stole my ideas and centered the entire Holloway empire around it. I deserve everything, Sarah. And so do you, my daughter, and my grandchildren."
Sarah heaved a heavy sigh. She always tried to ignore her father's obsession with revenge, but it was hard. Especially when she had centered her whole life around his revenge plan.
She had married Ivan Holloway for his revenge plan and given birth to Tina even when she tried her best to get rid of the child in her womb.
"The baby would be essential to us." He had said.
Now, Tina is seven years old. And about to lose her father who now meant so much to her.
When her father said "leave" she left. When he asked her to return, knowing that things were beginning to brew between the doctor and her husband, she returned. Now, she was fighting for her place in this family and it was all for him.
"You know papa, I wonder if you've ever considered the possibility of this plan biting us back in our asses." She said out loud. She needed to make him understand her fears, her worries. But her father had gone past caring, he always believed he had everything under control.
"We have been planning this all our lives. We cannot make a mistake, Sarah. Everything is going according to plan."
"The drugs?" She asked. Her father's voice chuckled.
"Ivan can kiss his sanity goodbye."
"And Tommy? What am I going to do about Tommy? Ivan does not believe the child is his."
"And whose fault is that? You are the one who decided to be stupid. Now, Tommy is your problem to deal with, not mine. I did not ask you to get pregnant on your leave."
Sarah's jaw hardened with a frown.
"It was before, father."
"But it still isn't Ivan's, is it?"
Sarah sighed, she swallowed hard and leaned into the chair.
"No papa, I guess not."
"Good. So that is your issue to take care of. Does Ian know?"
Sarah would have been shocked. But there was no use in being shocked, nothing ever passed her father's eyes. She did not know if it was his position, or if he was just very…inquisitive.
"No papa, and he cannot."
"You are damn right about that. Listen, Sarah. You must be calm and do just as I say. I have Ivan wrapped around all of my fingers. He trusts me more than he trusts himself. As long as you do as I tell you, nothing less and nothing more, we will be just fine."
Sarah's eyes danced around her husband's exquisite library.
"Yes, Papa."
"Antonio!" She heard the female voice of the doctor call out from the phone. Sarah rose to her feet. She looked around the room and turned sharply towards the door.
The door was firmly closed, so the voice was coming from her father's end of the line. The line went dead immediately and Sarah quickly deleted the call history from her phone. It was as though she never made the call.
She turned and began to walk towards the door. Her left hand touched the knob, about to turn it, before the door swung open, throwing her backward.
She staggered until she was able to find her stance and that was when the doctor emerged from the door. Clad in a white pair of pyjamas. Sarah looked down at her.
She forced her smile instantly.
The young doctor had her glasses on along with three enormous books in her hands.
"Good evening." The lady greeted, attempting to walk past her.
She was beautiful, Sarah knew this. Her husband was attracted to this woman for various reasons she could see. But she would not allow that attraction to brew into anything else, she would not fail her father.
"You are here to study?" Sarah asked, turning to her with a smile on her face.
The doctor turned to face her, clutching her books with firm fingers and pressing the books to her stomach.
"Yes. My room got noisy with the children running around and all."
Sarah forced a chuckle, waving a hand at the young doctor.
"Do not mind them. Both of them have their father's adventurous and daring spirit. I wonder what they were searching for in the halls. My apologies, I need to put them to sleep."
The doctor chuckled and Sarah cast her a dead stare, one that was gone before the doctor could even notice.
"A friendly word of advice, from woman to woman. That is if you do not mind." Sarah started.
The doctor's smile dissolved immediately, as it should have been.
Sarah saw the young woman swallow hard as she stood still.
"You may think otherwise and I would not blame you. But my husband is not the man you think he is. He is not gentle, he is not soft and he is far from sweet. One look at you and I could tell you have a pure soul. Ivan Holloway would ruin you." Sarah paused and walked over to where the woman stood.
She towered above her and looked down at the lady in spectacles.
"But before he does, I will."
Sarah watched the woman take two steps back. She stood still and smiled.
"Oh well, goodnight."
Sarah blurted out before she turned her back to the woman and cat walked out of the study.
