Why can't he settle the divorce and go wherever he wants?
I waited for his arrival impatiently. I don't know why, but it felt like he was prolonging his stay on his business trip. I tried to call him, but he wouldn't pick up my calls. He was intentionally ignoring me. I even called his secretary, but he always told me that Alpha was busy. I had enough of it. The next he returned to pack the house. I didn't waste my time and went to pack the house. I wanted to finalise the divorce settlement today. He was busy with some work when I barged into his office. He tried his best to stop me, but I was in no mood to listen to anyone. He looked up from his file when I entered his office. His grey eyes moved all over my body before going back to his file. My jaw clenched. Why was he getting on my nerves? I slammed the door a little too loudly, but still, it didn't bother him. I glared at him. His stubble looked overgrown, and his hair was messy as if he had moved his fingers in it countless times. His jacket was lazily thrown on the chair. He looked tired. No, Roslyn, it's not time to worry about him.
“Why are you not finalising the divorce settlement?'' I said in anger while stopping near his table.
“Why are you keeping delaying it?” I asked him firmly while folding my hands on my chest. He lifted his grey orbs, and they settled on my breasts, which had been pushed up because of my actions. I saw how dark they became.
“My eyes are here,” I said in a mad tone, which made him lift his eyelids to meet my gaze.
“I very well know where your eyes are,'' he said in his calm tone. I was not expecting a calm tone from him. Even his calm tone managed to send a shiver down my spine. He was making me even more agitated than I already was.
“I want you to settle the terms for our divorce today,” I said firmly, not wanting to argue in a different direction. I have to focus on what I want. He kept away from his file and looked straight at me. His jaw was slightly clenched as if he were irritated.
“Accept my half property and monthly alimony and agree to stay in front of my eyes after the divorce, and I will settle the terms today itself,” he said in his dominating voice. Once again, he asked me to divorce on his terms. My jaw clenched.
“Why can't you understand? I don't want anything from you,” I said in pure annoyance.
“And tell me one thing. Why do you want me in front of your eyes even after we divorce?” I asked with the same annoyance. His jaw became taut. He kept looking at me with foreign emotions swirling in his grey orbs.
“Answer me,” I said once again, firmly expecting an answer from him.
“It's my condition if you want to get divorced from me,” he said with the same calm tone, making me bite my lower lip in dismay. I know how stubborn he is if he wants something. I felt annoyed. It was no use talking to him. I told you talking to him was like talking to a wall.
“I want to divorce as soon as possible,” I said firmly, and I turned around to walk away.
“Don't forget to come home for dinner tonight. Today is Grandpa's birthday,” he reminded me when I was at the door. I didn't answer him, and I walked out of there. I need to cool down. So much anger is not good for the baby. I took a deep breath. Today was Grandpa Ken's birthday, and I had to be at dinner. Not because Mason wants me to be there, but because Grandpa Ken has always been kind to me. He always cared for me, even though I was an Omega. He never made me feel like I was less. I wore a baby pink dress. It fits around my bust, and the flare drowns out my breast. My shoulders were bare because of the off-shoulder sleeves. It was a simple dress. Grandpa was so happy when he saw me. He wouldn't stop praising me in front of Mason's family. They were all kind to me, except Talia. She scoffed when Grandpa showed me his kindness. She looked so jealous. I ignored her most of the time. Mason was still not here. The birthday celebration has already started. Everyone was busy talking to each other. I decided to get some fresh air when Tails stood in my way.
“You seem happy after getting my grandpa's favour. I don't think it will make the rest of us accept you into our family. Low Omega, like you don't belong here,” she said in anger, with a smirk on the corner of her lips. My jaw clenched when she was humiliated like that, but I chose to stay quiet. I passed by her to walk out when she pushed me from behind. One of the pack guards who was standing out caught me before I could fall.
“Around fine, Luna,” he asked me with a worried look on his face.
"Yes, thank you,” I said with a small smile on my face. It angered her even more.
“How do you end up finding another loser to help you?” Talia said, insulting both of us. I just couldn't hold back.
“Just because his rank is lower than yours doesn't mean you can insult him. He is protecting the pack with his life, which you can never dare to do. So respect him,” I said in anger on her face, and her eyes widened when I said that. She was not expecting me to say that.
“How dare you talk with me like that? You low life,” she said in anger and grabbed a juicy glass from a nearby waiter to throw at me. My eyes widen in fear. A sticky liquid is splashed on my face the very next second.
“I'm going to teach you a lesson for talking to me like that,'' Talis said in anger, and I got scared, remembering how she used to bully me in school. She was about to slap me when her hand was held in a firm grip.
“What the hell are you doing, Talia?” Mason asked in his dominating voice, and it made Talia clench her jaw.
"Mason, let go of my hand. I need to teach her a lesson,” she said in anger. Mason's jaw clenched in anger.
“No,” he said firmly, making Talia look at him in disbelief.
“What are you taking from her side?” she said in anger. Mason has no answer for it. I could see it in his eyes. I don't know why he was showing his sudden kindness to me.
“Why won't he take my side? He is my mate. My husband,” instead of him, I answered her. Talia's eyes widened. As soon as I said those words, I wanted to slap myself. I said those words in the heat of movement.
