Chapter 18

“I will not. Do whatever hell you want to do.”
“What did you say?” Mason asked in his dominating voice, and now his grey orbs had turned into a dark shade of anger. I was not scared of him anymore. He has no place in my life anymore. I was not scared to lose him because I had never gotten him in the first place.
“I said I would not come; don't you get it?” I said this in annoyance while meeting his glaring eyes. I won't back out now. Angry tears fell out of my eyes, and I didn't make any attempts to wipe them. I let them fall freely. Those tears were for losing my life today. I was mourning my loss, so I let my tears fall without any restriction. His eyes moved to my teary eyes, and I found him taking deep breaths as if trying to control something. His fingers clenched and unclenched while he kept looking at my pain-filled eyes. His grey orbs once again displayed those hidden emotions in them. I refused to recognise them anymore. They mean nothing from now on. We kept looking at each other, and the tension in the air thickened even more. I refused to back out.
“I told you, Mason, she won't apologise,” Lilam said from behind. She was standing behind him. Her eyes and nose were red from fake crying. Her pale face made her feel like she was sick and fragile. It was as if she would faint if someone shouted at her. I know it's all a face. She came to his side and grabbed his arm with both of her hands. She pressed her body against his in front of me. Her eyes narrowed, and the corner of her lips slightly up in a smirk. She was pulling a show in front of him, and Mason was such a big fool to not see it.
“Don't force her if she doesn't want to apologise. I have already forgiven her,” she said with a smirk on her lips, sounding sad. Mason's eyes remain fixed on me. My face became grim, and my nose flared in anger.
“Roslyn” Mason took my name as if to say something to me. Those untold emotions are still swirling in his eyes.
“Mason, don't waste your time on me. I will never apologise to her. Instead, focus on her doing what you have been doing so well. Why don't you tend to her needs? Looking at how needy she is, she can't even keep her hands away from you,” I said accusingly, and smoothing flashed in his eyes. He pulled his arms away from Lilian's tight grip. Lilian’s face lost its colour when he did that. She looked hurt, but she hid it behind her fake, innocent, sad smile.
“Keeping all the attention to her. She needs you.” I said it accusingly.
“Just do one favour to me for the last time,” I said, looking straight into his eyes. Teas are still failing in my eyes.
“Leave me alone from now on; I don't want to see any of your faces,” I said firmly as warm tears rolled down from my eyes. My heart hurts when I say that, but it was for my betterment. I removed my ring and threw it on him.
“Our marriage is over. Don't you ever show me your face again?” I said, firmly looking straight into his eyes. I mean every word. His eyes widened when I said that. I saw a glint of fear of losing me in his eyes, but it was soon gone. I was probably imagining it. He doesn't care if I'm in his life or not. He always found ways to get me to ride out of his lips, and now I made things simple for him. Saving us both from the drama we have to go through. His eyes moved to my wedding ring, lying near his feet. I saw sadness in his eyes while he looked at the wedding ring. Lilian was surprised when she saw me doing it. She was not expecting me to leave Mason so easily. Well, then I have made things easy for her too. She can keep him. Mason bent down and picked up the wedding ring. He fisted it in his hand. I saw a complex emotion, which was hard to express or tell, swirling in his eyes. He took a deep breath before looking at me.
“You can't end our marriage like this by just throwing away our wedding ring,'' he said, not wanting to accept that I had just ended our meaningless marriage.
"Well, I just did. We are no longer husbands or wives. You are not my mate anymore; get that,” I said firmly. He never respected me as his mate, and now it was my turn. I felt despair while saying those hurtful words, but I even felt relieved and free. My outbursts and endings made me feel light as a feather. Lilian smirked with satisfaction, and I could tell she was scheming something in her evil mind, but I didn't care anymore. They were not my business anymore.
“Don't show me your face ever again,” I said and turned around. I walked away while not looking back, not even for once. I could feel his burning gaze trying to make holes in my back, but I ignored him.
I kept watching her retreating figure. I couldn't do anything to stop her because I felt numb from inside when she broke our marriage when she threw out our wedding ring. I felt immense pain in the centre of my chest. It felt like all the colours from my life were snatched out. A big lump of piled-up emotion tried to come out, but I swallowed it.
“Mason, don't be sad. It happens for good,” Lilian said softly while taking hold of my arms in both of her arms. I felt burned when she touched me. I pulled my hand out of her hold. I didn't want to talk to anyone. My eyes remained fixed on her back until she vanished in front of my eyes.
I took hold of his face, trying to make him look at me. His grey eyes looked so full and lifeless. It seemed he was lost, and it annoyed me so much. Does he have feelings for that low life? My jaw clenched in anger, but I brushed it away.
“I'm with you, Mason. If you want, I will go and talk to her,” I said softly with fake tears in my eyes, but he took hold of my hands and removed them from his face as if they had burned him. My jaw clenched in anger.
“I want to be alone,” he said while pushing away my hands. He turned around and walked away, leaving me alone. I didn't like it even a bit. I need to teach that bitch a lesson. I turned around and ran to get her. I saw her going to the washroom while covering her mouth. My brows furrowed in confusion. There was a roasted fish tasting centre in the corner. The aroma of Lindgren is in the air. I ran behind her. I saw her puking in the sink. My eyes were wide in fear.
Is she pregnant?
