Chapter 47 : Vampire Trolls Are Coming

Nikolas slammed the cup of blood against the wall in his "A Tower" room, his blood boiling with rage as he heard the news, which Lupe delivered. It was still noon, and he couldn't move on his own in broad daylight.
"Rakiza was nowhere to be found, sir," Lupe adjusted his collar.
"He can't take my fiancée away from me, Lupe," Nikolas said softly. That will bring curses upon him and his family. They will pay for their mistakes." He was cursing solemnly, which Lupe hadn't expected to hear from him. Even though Nikolas was a vampire, he used to think of him as the coolest boss.
"Find her, Lupe, before my mother's trolls get to Rakiza." He demanded, "You are aware of my mother's abilities?" She shows no mercy to anyone, including myself. No one can put a stop to our wedding. That was the only way I could keep an eye on Rakiza. "
"May I ask why she was so important to your mother, sir?" Lupe asked, adding, "She's just an ordinary woman, a human being. She is not comparable to you." Lupe finally asked, "You're so strong, and she's no match for you and your mother."
"Let me put it this way, Lupe," Nikolas said, his rage gone. "Rakiza is the reason I was given the opportunity to run our city's finances; she is the key to our salvation."
Lupe was perplexed by Nikolas's statements. He wasn't expecting to hear such an unusual truth.
"You may depart now, and please bring me some good news." I could tell she was a little far away. And I can't wait for the night to come so I can look for Rakiza on my own.
Lupe exited the room, and Nikolas used the remote control to view something on the TV screen. A group of rock singers were reflected on the screen. They were the black magic rock singers hired to promote the Augustus Company. For a brief moment, Nikolas wished to forget about Rakiza as he turned up the volume on the music video. The loud speakers filled the room as Nikolas tried to dismiss Rakiza from his mind. However, it had no effect on his feelings. Instead, it fueled his desire to apprehend Rakiza and imprison her in the building's secret chamber.
He smelled someone outside the door and then heard a soft knocking on the door after a brief moment of silence. It was coming from outside his secret chamber, from the living room. He was well aware of the visitor's identity.
Nikolas swung open the door after muting the rock music. Lyra Brinson, who was dressed in uniform, smiled at Nikolas. "You called on me, Sir."
"Come on in," Nikolas said, as he motioned her to the couch.
Lyra’s expression was a bit nervous but she was still smiling. She was startled when Nikolas stared at her with his expressionless eyes. "What can I do for you, Sir Nikolas?"
"I want you to plan my wedding."
Lyra’s eyes widened as she heard what Nikolas had said. "You’re marrying, Sir Nikolas?"
"Yes, and I hadn’t told anyone about it."
"May I know who the lucky girl is, sir?"
For a few moments, Nikolas came to a halt. For the entire time in his vampire life, he had no secrets that his mother had not revealed. Hundreds of years ago, her mother was a powerful evil queen. She was ruthless then and now. She had no desire to accept defeat, and her desire to obtain the bloodstone drove her to be more aggressive and cruel. She even murdered a servant who had revealed her desire to the other vampire royal family.
Nikolas' brow furrowed as he recalled such a heinous episode in his life with his mother. He was well aware of his mother's ability to manipulate him with her dreams of conquering the world at all hours of the day and night. That pushed her desperately to obtain the bloodstone, and it also became his ambition.
"Can you keep a secret for me?"
"It would be an honor to serve as your secret bearer, sir," Lyra said with a smile. "I can take care of that with my life."
Nikolas focused his attention on Lyra, knowing he could count on her. He was secretly watching her through the conference room's two-way mirror, the hidden cameras installed in every corner of the tower, and the Reign-Bridge Book Publishing office. As a businessman, he ensured that he could keep track of his entire workforce. He also used an audio speaker to deliver his message. Nikolas decided who would and would not be able to see him. And it made him an enigmatic boss.
"But before I reveal her name, I need to share a little of my secret. " Theo stood up and moved to the opposite end of the bar. "I want to keep my wedding a secret." I want you to make sure that none of our reporters or writers get the wrong impression about the wedding. Most importantly, my mother must be unaware of it. "
"Do you mean you're going to marry without your mother's permission?"
"I'm old enough now, and I don't need my mother's permission," Nikolas sighed. "I know she'll oppose my wedding and will go to any length to prevent it," he knew from the start.
He sensed her mother's plan for him. She wanted him to be king of Kurkas, and in order for this to happen, he had to marry King Romas' daughter, Princess Junesa.
"Are you okay, Sir Nikolas?" Lyra inquired.
"Yes, I'm fine," he said, turning to ask, "Where were we?"
"Who is the lucky lady who has captured your heart, sir?"
"Rakiza Zanier," Nikolas stated unequivocally.
Lyra was taken aback when she heard the name, but she quickly recovered.
"What do you think about it?" For the first time, Nikolas became excited, and he knew Rakiza was the girl he had been waiting for, because he had mistaken Rakiza for Queen Maruja a long time ago.
"You've asked me to plan a grand wedding, sir," Lyra explained, "but a grand wedding can't be hidden." "The announcement will be made as soon as I contact my wedding planner," Lyra added. "
"I understand, but you can postpone the announcement until my mother takes action to put a halt to my wedding."
"What is the theme of your wedding, sir?"
"I'd like it to be a vampire wedding," Nikolas explained. "It’s a wedding with a gothic flair."
Lyra froze because she had not expected to plan a gothic wedding.
"Do you have any reservations about that theme, Lyra?"
"Not at all, Sir. It's just that it's very unusual for me, but anything is possible. "
"The clock is ticking; you may begin planning immediately." Nikolas added, "Keep in mind that money will not be an issue."
Lyra walked out of the room, perplexed.
After a few moments, Lupe came in with important news for Nikolas. "Someone noticed Rakiza, Sir."
"Go on," Nikolas said, his gaze fixed on Lupe. His heart was pounding as he awaited the rest of the news.
Lupe continued, "She was riding in a blue car with a man named Theo." And they were on their way east. "
Nikolas' eyes glazed over as he heard Lupe's words, and he was furious with Theo.
***
Theo was furious with Rakiza because she refused to call Nikolas. "Tell Nikolas you no longer want to marry him."
"I can't do it," Rakiza said, refusing to end the wedding proposal and calling Nikolas. And she didn't want to give Theo Nikolas' rings. "I don't have a single reason to call it off." She added, "He was so gentle and kind to me. I can't possibly hurt Nikolas. And if I hurt him, I also hurt myself, Theo. So, please try to comprehend. "
"OK, don't call him anymore, but give me Nikolas' two rings," Theo demanded.
"I can't," Rakiza said.
Theo remained silent for a brief moment. Rakiza had a sneaking suspicion that something was preventing her from doing so. What was happening to her perplexed her. She was unable to stop herself. She wouldn't be able to deny anything Nikolas said to her if she was with him. And now that she's with Theo, she's aware of his dominance over her. Both men wielded equal power over her. Everything around her was perplexingly intricate.
"Just give me the rings because I know those rings have demonic power and will control you, so give them to me right now," Theo pleaded.
After a few minutes, Rakiza handed over Nikolas' rings to Theo. "Please return that to Nikolas," she says of the diamond and red beryl ring.
"I will, and we will meet at the appropriate time," Theo promised as he slipped the rings into the pocket of his black jacket. "What I want to do is separate it from your body; we have no idea why Nikolas gave you the rings."
"What I knew was that the red beryl ring represented our friendship, and the diamond ring represented his marriage proposal."
"How do you feel about it?" Theo asked frimly.
"How do you feel about what?" Rakiza asked, a frown on her face.
"How do you feel about Nikolas proposing marriage?" gritted Theo. "Are you content?"
When Nikolas proposed, Rakiza couldn't say anything. She was overcome with awe. She had no idea Nikolas would want her as his wife. And all she could see were her friends' ecstasies at the prospect of her marrying a billionaire. But she was perplexed on the inside. As she stared at Theo, who was silently staring at the fireplace, she was experiencing everything as if it were a scene from a fantasy film she had seen as a child. Her heart sank with disappointment. What's the source of your fear, Rakiza? That she couldn't grasp.
The door opened again, and Ajella and the old man came in and closed the door quickly. Their movements were careful and watchful.
"We have to keep moving," the old man suggested.
Rakiza was disoriented to see their quick yet tense movements.
"Let's put something in our stomach before we rock and roll," Ajella said as she put all the ready-to-eat food on the table.
Rakiza’s heart was pounding loudly and wildly. "Where are we going, Theo?"
"We want you to see what lies behind the goodness and gentleness Nikolas has shown you." He moved to grab Rakiza's arms and led her to the table to eat with them. "We're going to my place, my real place."
"This is harassment, Theo, and this could lead to a lawsuit against you."
"This is the reality that you must understand and learn from." Ajella inserted dryly, "And you'll wonder why you were born that way." Ajella struck Rakiza.
Rakiza was enraged by Ajella's statements. She simply expressed her displeasure with her. But she decided to go with the flow and learn more about Theodulf Monsanto.
Later that afternoon, Rakiza found herself in a line on a trail with no clear path, with Ajella and the old man ahead of her and Theo behind her. They were traversing rocky terrain that led to a vast forest. "Please, I can't go on without a break from walking," she said as she leaned against the large trees at the boundary between rocky clear land and large woods.
They'd been walking for hours, and Rakiza was also far from the dormitory, and the walking had hurt her feet. But she had to put up with the exhaustion; all she needed to know was Theo's true identity and where he came from, and she needed to refocus her attention solely on Theo, to clear up everything he had said about her being a vampire target. She needed to put an end to Theo's accusations that Nikolas was a vampire prince. She had to be aware.
After a brief pause, Ajella was abruptly alerted to something. She was sniffing something and became agitated. "You must all wait here," she said as she dashed off the upper part of the boundary.
"What happened?" Rakiza's heart pounded with the fear of not knowing. "Explain to me what she was afraid of."
"It's nothing," Theo reassured Rakiza. "She was simply carrying out her duties as a tracker."
"She is the best I've ever known," the old man said, adding, "she is the best at preventive action."
Rakiza, on the other hand, had her own take on what she had seen on Ajella's face. She had caught something unappealing, and it was getting closer. "Don't tell me you're lying. Precaution and panic are two different words, and from the look on her face, she panicked and sniffed something heinous. "
Theo was just looking at Rakiza with solemn eyes that brought a little comfort to Rakiza when something caught his mind as if he was receiving bad news without being told, and Rakiza was alarmed. "What's the matter, Theo?"
Rakiza's arm was quickly grabbed by Theo, and they dashed into the dense forest. Her knees wobbled as Theo pulled her hard, "What’s happening Theo?!!" Tell me now!!!"
Theo shouted, "Vampire trolls are coming!"
