Chapter 56 : The Bloodline

Rakiza remembered herself as a child. She was standing in the dark in the front cabin. And she was holding her mother's hand. And she remembered her mother Veronica's cold hand. Even in the dark, she had tears in her eyes and was pale with fear.
They rushed into the cabin, and her mother shut the door behind them. She was also terrified. And she had no idea what had happened at the time. Rakiza's only thought at the time was that her mother was afraid of something, and she was the only one who knew what it was until now.
She also can't forget how much her mother hurt her because she broke her mother's rule about not leaving the cabin at all hours of the day or night.
Her mother still knows why they returned here now. But there was a distinction between now and then. She knew now that someone had persuaded her mother to come here. Her mother was the only one who knew who they were.
Veronica led Rakiza into the cabin, where she noticed a light inside. She was completely unaware of what her mother had done. She knows exactly what to do. "Sit down and don't come out."
That's what her mother told her back then. "Mom, what are we going to do here?"
"Let's just wait here," her mother replied, sitting in a corner and remaining silent.
Rakiza had no idea what her mother had done. In her gesture, she didn't seem to recognize her mother. Veronica was a happy person back then, but she had suddenly become quiet since they had argued. She also stopped contacting her at school. As a result, her dormmates forced her to work as a runner in order to cover school expenses. And now that they're back together, her mother is still silent and seems disconnected from reality.
Rakiza was the first to inquire, "What's wrong with us, Mom? Why did you act that way? You send me home, and then you refuse to speak to me. Why, mother? "
"Leave me alone, I'm at a loss for words," her mother replied gently. "They said I'd take you here and wait for them."
"Who are they, mom? So, what are we waiting for? "
"You will see. They will arrive later."
Rakiza was concerned about what her mother had said. "And what do they require of us?"
"They only require you, not me."
"What?" Rakiza's hair stood up as she approached her mother in a corner. "Tell me the truth, Mom."
"Don't come near me!" her mother yelled as she walked away from Rakiza. She squeezed even tighter into a corner with a division.
"Mom? What happened to you? Why are you afraid of me? What are these shambles? "
"Don't get any closer or you'll get hurt."
"But I'm your child; you can't hurt me, can you?" Rakiza struggled to approach her mother. "Even if you're mad at me, I know you still love me."
"I'm different now, Rakiza." She whimpered, "I'm no longer your mother. I'm an animal. "
"Don't say that, Mom. Nothing can break us as a daughter and mother. " Rakiza was still approaching her mother when Veronica suddenly pulled her and was about to bite her neck when someone came in and pushed Rakiza's mother and slammed her to the floor like the wind.
"Rakiza, stay away from your mother!" Theo yelled as he wrestled Veronica until he was able to bind Veronica and make her immobile.
And Rakiza was enraged, saying, "What did you do to my mother, Theo? Why did you bind her up? "
"Because she wants to bite you," he said as he dragged Veronica into the kitchen.
Rakiza heard her mother arguing with Theo and changing her voice, like a monster growling. "What did you do to my mother, Theo?" she yelled. Respond! "
"Just think that the woman in the kitchen is not your mother, Rakiza," Theo said as he exited the kitchen and locked the door.
"What?" She was astounded. "How dare you say that to my mother, Theo?"
"You have to listen to me," he insisted. "She's no longer your mother because she was turned into a vampire."
Rakiza shuddered as she heard Theo's words. Her mother had been a vampire. That's why she acted strangely. She, however, refused to believe it. "No. What you are saying is false. My mom isn't a vampire. "
"I won't force you to believe me if you don't want to, but we need to get out of here before the enemies come to take you." Suddenly, they heard the crash of the cabin roof. It was as if a flock of large birds had landed. But the sound and weight of the crash convinced Rakiza that Theo was telling the truth. Vampires are on their way or have already arrived.
"The adversaries have arrived." Theo's voice firmed. "Let's get ready, especially you," Theo said, pulling something from his knapsack. A blade. "This is what you'll use to kill them," Rakiza said, her hand shaking and her whole-body trembling. That incident was beyond her comprehension. Her mother stopped shouting in the kitchen and fell silent. "No matter what happens, don't go with them," Theo warned Rakiza.
Suddenly, the environment became silent. At night, only crickets can be heard. When the kitchen door unexpectedly opened, Theo and Rakiza exchanged glances.
Veronica had already stood up, untied herself, and was staring at Rakiza. "Please come, my daughter. Please accompany me. "
"Mom?" Rakiza looked at her mother, whose voice seemed to enchant her.
"Come on, let's go home," Veronica said.
"Don't listen to her, Rakiza; just pretend she's not your mother," Theo said.
Rakiza backed away as Veronica approached. "What's going to happen to me, Mom?"
"You'll have to come with me to find out." "Being immortal is wonderful, so come with me," she said, extending her arms to Rakiza.
"Come, Rakiza, let's go," Theo said, grabbing Rakiza's arms and pulling them away from her.
"No, I want to know what really happened to my mother."
"Your mother is already dead. We can't help her. She is already under the control of the enemies."
"And who are the adversaries, Theo?" Rakiza snarled, "Is it you or the vampires?"
Rakiza's sudden rage surprised Theo. And it was as if he was to blame.
"Ever since you came into my life, this is what has happened. Many of the cursed have occurred. Muriel died and became a vampire, and now my mother has joined her. "Aren't you Theo the bane of my existence?"
"There isn't time, Rakiza. Let us get out of here. "I will not abandon my mother! " Rakiza had made a decision and added, "I adore my mother, Theo. And I'll do anything for her. "
Rakiza's words surprised Theo. But he didn't give up. He grabbed Rakiza again and pulled her to the door, but Veronica held Rakiza's other hand, causing Theo to come to a halt. Rakiza was stretched out in the middle, like a rope in a game of tag.
"Release your daughter, Veronica," Theo ordered.
"Come with me, my daughter," Veronica continued to pull Rakiza. "We're going somewhere nice."
"You're going to hell." Rakiza will die if she comes with you, Mrs. Zanier.
Veronica pulled harder on Rakiza, injuring her and dropping the sword that stood upright on the floor.
So, Theo considered harming Veronica. "Release your daughter," he said, while punching Veronica in the cheek. The woman was strewn across the floor. When she looked at Theo again, her eyes turned red with rage, and her fangs erupted.
Rakiza noticed the progression of events. She was unable to move.
Veronica flew towards Theo and twisted him like a snake, intending to bite Theo in the neck, but Theo quickly drew the sword that rang on the floor and stabbed Veronica in the shoulder.
It moaned in agony and dashed back into the kitchen.
Rakiza was about to follow her mother when Theo grabbed her and dragged her out of the cabin. They were surprised to see a group of vampire warriors outside the cabin. And they were all staring at Rakiza and Theo. Everyone aimed their weapons at Theo.
Rakiza couldn't believe the next scene. Theo was alone against over a dozen armed opponents. They had swords, spears, and pistols.
"Rakiza, tighten your grip on the sword," Theo said quietly, "and whoever comes close to you, strike them with that sword to death."
And one of the vampires approached Theo and said, "Give her to us, and we will give you your freedom."
"You get Rakiza on top of my dead body," Theo bravely replied.
"Then, would you choose death rather than that woman surrendering to us?" the leader of the enemies asked again.
"Yes," Theo said.
"Give me up to them, Theo."
"Never, Rakiza." He hissed, "You are my mission, and I will not be able to give you to them."
As a result, the vampire leader retreated and suddenly raised his hand, and when he lowered it, the vampires attacked Theo. And then there was the fight.
Rakiza was terrified by what was happening, but she knew she had to help Theo. So she took up the weapon and stroked anyone who approached her.
And when he saw Theo transform into a werewolf, he quickly circled her so no one could get too close. And every vampire who came too close to Rakiza was struck by the weapon she was carrying. And then she noticed the sword lightening, and every time she struck the enemy, it groaned in pain.
Rakiza kept hitting every enemy who could get through Theo's wolf, and Theo's wolf kept following Rakiza. Until suddenly, the vampires vanished, disappearing like bubbles.
He was injured when Theo's wolf landed on the ground and abruptly changed form, returning to being a naked person.
Rakiza quickly removed her sweatshirt and wrapped it around Theo's waist and said excitedly, "They're gone, Theo. We triumphed. "
"Not yet, Rakiza," Theo struggled to respond. "No, not yet. They just need to get out because the sun will rise in a few minutes. And they will return to pick you up tonight. "
"You are the last female hunter bloodline. And you are the antidote to their curse. "
Rakiza's eyes widened.
"They will do anything to get you. And that will be our priority from now on, your safety. " Theo was gasping for air.
Rakiza panicked, "Theo, what happened to you? What should I do to help you?"
