Do It Professionally
"What the f*ck are you thinking?!"
His screams echoed in her ears. When Lillianne looked at him, the man was already in front of her after dragging her a few meters away. He put away the expensive suit he was wearing earlier, leaving only the slightly messy white shirt. It made him look hotter than usual.
Please don't make her start with his handsome face. It was turning red -- either because he was angry or tired of chasing her here. His breathing sounded so labored as well.
“S-Sir, w-why are you here?”
Let's get back to the game. Lillianne put on a surprised face again at his presence as if she wasn't the one who deliberately lured him to come.
"What are you doing here anyway?" he asked her back.
"I... I... uhm..."
"To meet with Mr. Bolton in secret. Just say it frankly. There is no need for you to hide it anymore. You have been caught red-handed anyway."
Blaze was about to drag her along again, but she refused to come. She chose to stay longer there, not far from the door to meet Jake Bolton.
The man looked even more angry with her rejection. If only he knew that instead of scaring her, it made her like him even more. She liked to tease him to make him furious. Blaze looked more and more like the late Leander as he did so.
"Are you disobeying me?" the man asked then.
"No. It's not like that, but... we are not even in the office right now. These aren't my working hours either." She still maintained that innocent face and still avoided eye contact with him. "I will always obey you during in company, sir, but... I have independent rights when I am outside, you know?" she added.
"But your actions will affect our company. You said you are a professional in this field, so you should know that scandals can ruin everything. Jake Bolton is also very famous for that. He has repeatedly caused problems because of his dirty hobby. You should know better!"
Ah, cut the bullsh*t!
Despite the problems that might arise because of that, Lillianne was very sure that it wasn't the main reason that made him bother coming here. She also knew the main reason for his anger wasn't because of that at all, but because of a jealousy he felt. She wanted Blaze to admit it instead of denying it as she waited centuries for this.
"So that's why you came here?" She tested him again.
"Isn't that obvious? I want to save this important project from falling apart because of you. So, let's go--"
"No." She resisted when she was pulled again. She suddenly changed his shy attitude to become bolder. She even challenged his eyes now. "As I said before, I have done my job well as your secretary, sir. Beyond that, it's none of my business anymore, just as you have no right to say this to me while I am outside. I don't remember if it was written in the contract either."
She managed to silence him. That's right! It's time for him to stop with this nonsense and just come clean.
"Now, please leave before Mr Blake sees you and things get awkward. That's the way to prevent this from affecting the project because we agreed beforehand."
She could feel the man's anger growing. That was what she wanted. His calmness was starting to feel unbearable. She wanted him to take action.
“What? What did he promise you anyway? You must have gotten such a tempting offer that you forgot your promise to me about a week ago not to let me down for accepting you as my secretary," he said.
"I didn't break my promise at all. As your secretary, I feel I have done my best. What happened outside doesn't count." She didn't want to lose him in this. "So, can you pretend this didn't happen, sir? Let's work professionally as we should. So, till then... see you in the office tomorrow."
Just as she was about to leave, they suddenly heard the sound of the door opening from Royal Suite 1. Oh no, it looked like Jake Bolton was getting tired of waiting for her and checked out! She still wanted to test Blaze, though.
However, she was suddenly pulled again behind a wall just before the door opened. Her mouth was even taped shut - not very strong - by his hand. Blaze Davies gestured to her not to make any noise.
"Where is she? She said she was here, though. Has she changed his mind?"
Jake Bolton's voice was heard. However, something worse happened after that, he suddenly contacted her. Her cell phone in her bag suddenly rang.
Blaze looked panicked by that, especially because Jake Bolton seemed to have heard it. He could be heard coming closer.
"Miss Guinn, is that you?"
Lillianne could feel Blaze's anticipation as Mr. Bolton was getting closer. The man had probably prepared for the worst that would happen next. However, Lillianne soon took control of the situation. She opened a door that happened to be close to her reach. It was her turn to pull Blaze with her.
"H-How did you..."
Blaze stuttered and was so confused by what was happening, but his words stopped when the sound of Mr. Blake was heard outside. They waited until he left.
"How did you open this door?" Blaze asked after that, still whispering.
"I don't know. I was just trying to push it earlier. I can't believe it suddenly opened," she excused. "But, sir, I have to see Mr. Bolton now. He has been waiting too long. So, you'd better go before he actually sees you."
"Don't go. I will pay for it instead."
The man held her back again by saying that. His hand still wouldn't let go of her arm.
"I will give you whatever he promised you -- even more than that. But, you can't meet him there," he added.
'This is it!'
"So, you want to spend the night with me instead?" She challenged him.
The man stuttered. It was his turn to avert his eyes from the secretary. "T-That's not what I meant. I couldn't possibly do that--"
"Why not?" Lillianne suddenly drew closer. "You don't have anyone with you anyway. No one will be angry if you want to sleep with me, right?"
"Watch your words." He warned her again. "Let me be clear that this offer is not because I want to do anything like that to you, but because I want to protect the project--"
"Projects, projects, gosh... stop it. I am starting to get sick of hearing that." She groaned in frustration. "Who would believe that you would do all this because of that? Stop lying to anyone because no one believes that other than yourself."
She moved closer until their bodies were touching. She didn't stop there, she also ran her arms around his neck.
"You are interested in me, sir. You are here because you are jealous of the thought of me with another man. Isn't it time you admitted that?"
Look at how his slightly shaking eyes looked away from her. However, it wasn't long before it looked at him firmly again.
"You seem too delusional to think that. But, let me be clear, I--"
She didn't give him a chance to reject her again. She suddenly grabbed the man's nape, stood on tiptoe, then captured his lips to silence him. She even immediately sucked them passionately.
“Ummm-- stop this.”
Blaze rebelled, but she didn't care. She tried to kiss him again.
“I said stop.”
He pushed harder. This time she stumbled backwards.
"I can't do this. Not because I am old-fashioned or hypocritical, but I have sworn to my daughter and late wife. So, you better stop," he warned her.
"But you like me, right?" She yelled back. She had had enough. "I don't understand why you have to make it complicated when it's that simple."
"No. It's not! It's just... just because of this dress or all the weird things that have happened to me ever since you showed up." He finally couldn't hold it in anymore either. "I... I don't understand how this could happen. How could I have seen you wearing it a few days before it occurred? How could it feel so real? I really REALLY don't get it at all!" he was no longer able to restrain himself.
"What do you mean?" She was still hiding it from her.
"That's confusing, right? I feel worse than that because I don't understand what's going on myself. It's just... just... I don't know."
"Well, so the problem was just the dress?"
Lillianne did the unexpected thing again. She suddenly unzipped her dress and then let it slide off her body.
"Then, it shouldn't matter anymore, right?"
