Another Secret about Us
Blaze was quite excited at first. Even though he still doubted Lillianne and her stories, he couldn't deny that he was happy to have her come home with him. Apart from being sure that this would help him talk to Evelyn again, he could also dig deeper into the truth of her words.
He deliberately came home later than his employees as an excuse so that Lillianne could leave first to the spot where they met. He even cleaned his car to ensure the girl's comfort later. Then, while humming cheerfully, he took his car out of the building parking lot.
He was so ready to meet Lillianne and even looking forward to it.
However, when they arrived at the destination, everything fell apart. His eyes instead caught another familiar figure along with the woman. What's worse, it wasn't like a normal meeting because his assistant even handed his secretary flowers.
His plan changed at the last second. Instead of stopping at the bus stop, he pressed the accelerator harder to get through. His facial expression looked annoyed.
"What the hell? She shouldn't have made an arrangement to meet me if she wants to invite others. It would be very awkward if Theo had seen me."
"That will feel awkward or actually... will you be jealous?"
"WHAT THE F*CK!"
Blaze was shocked when the woman suddenly took the passenger seat next to him. He even stepped on the brakes suddenly and got out of the way.
"Y-You..." He stared in disbelief at the figure. He even poked her arm with his index finger to make sure she was real.
"Yeah, it's me," said the woman casually, laughing at the boss's hilarious expression.
'How did you that?'
He almost spit it out, but then he remembered another surprising fact he had just discovered yesterday; that this woman was not an ordinary human being, that he could do things that would be beyond a healthy human being to do. How can he forget?
"I am sorry for startling you. I just panicked because you just passed me by like that," the woman pouted without feeling guilty, while her hands were busy playing with the bouquet she had given.
"Why is he even there? Don't tell me you invited him," he accused, still annoyed.
"No. He followed me secretly."
"For what? To confess to you?" Blaze frowned. "I didn't know Theo Greg was so goofy when it came to romance. He seems very charismatic at work, though."
"You need to know that you are no better than him, Leander. You did stupider things than him to attract me in the past," Lillianne chuckled.
Blaze's expression changed upon hearing that. For a moment his pupils trembled as if he was touched, but then he looked away.
"I told you to stop calling me that. I didn't recognize him as me as long as I didn't remember," he said as he finally started the car engine again. They left from there.
"It's a reflex out of habit. You can ignore it if you don't like it," said Lillianne while shrugging.
It was very quiet after that. Mostly because Blaze was still showing an annoyed expression because of earlier. Lillianne didn't make it any better either. Instead, she continued to hug and kiss the flowers.
"Then what's your answer to him? Why are you here right away? Don't tell me you duplicated yourself again to be able to live with him there," Blaze finally couldn't stop himself from asking.
"Nope. I just left him like that. I lied to him that I wanted to go to the toilet, but instead I followed you here," she replied nonchalantly.
It seemed cruel, but Blaze couldn't deny that she was satisfied with it. However, he still maintained his poker face instead of showing it to her.
"But I don't understand." Blaze still had things to say. "You said you came to get me back, but it doesn't look like that with your attitude. I mean... what does that have to do with flirting with other men."
Lillianne looked at him, grinning, "What?"
"Too many of them; Theo Greg, Mike Bolton, the CMO, the Finance Director, the CFO, and others. Is that part of your mission?"
"Yeah."
It was such an unexpected answer that Blaze immediately glared at him.
"You are kidding."
"No. That's part of the mission." Lillianne used her magic again to make the flower disappear in the blink of an eye. "That's a assignment to get you by making you jealous like this."
"I am not jea--"
"Yes, you are." She interrupted him. "Believe it or not, it helps to make us close like this. Even when I lured you to follow me to the hotel for an secret meeting with Mr. Bolton."
Blaze frowned again. "That was a trick?"
"Yeah. That's to check whether you like me or not. Then the answer is clear when you catch up with me. You know that too, right?"
Yeah. That's not a hard thing to argue. Even though Blaze always rejected it, deep down he always knew the answer. Even though he still didn't want to admit it to her face.
"No. I don't think it's that simple. The reason I was thinking so much about that was none other than the dress-- wait a minute." Blaze glanced at him again with a suspicious look. "I came because I thought of the dress you were wearing. It was the same as the one I saw in my dream a few days before. That was your doing too, wasn't it? That dream was real, just like the one on Gozo Island."
Lilianne just gave him an ambiguous look.
"So, it's true. Hey, isn't that too much. You forced me to have s*x when I wasn't conscious--"
"But you enjoyed it in the end." Lillianne felt the need to set this straight. "Even though you tried to refuse at first, you gave in in the end. You didn't even leave when I let you go and instead tackled me even more."
Blaze stuttered. "That wasn't me. You must still bewitching me, right?"
"No. I may be able to manipulate situations, but I have never controlled you. I don't have hypnotic powers like an Alpha King. In other words, your reaction comes from yourself."
It was the point where Blaze couldn't argue anymore. He knew that for himself.
