Sleeping Beauty I

Camila's POV
If I knew sucking dick would completely ruin my makeup, I would have reconsidered the events of earlier.
In retrospect all that had come out of that experience was the loss of interest in Alejandro.
What kind of man just leaves after reviving one hell of a blow job?
A stupid one.
Luckily it had only taken me about an hour to gather myself. I had redone my makeup and found another dress to wear.
Granted this dress wasnt as dramatic as the last one, but it was good enough. The dress itself was simple and classy, with the black material hugging my figure perfectly and a cute sweetheart neckline to tie it all together.
My effort for the party was an accurate representation of just how little I wanted to go down to the party. But I needed to make an appearance. I needed to show Alejandro that he didn't have an affect on me.
Because he didn't.
I could hear the chatter and music as I decended the stairs and turned towards the French doors that led outside.
The entrance to the party wasn't through the house and judging by the security at almost every point of entrance to the manor, people weren't aloud to even be inside.
The party was in full swing by the time I walked out into the backyard space, the place was decorated to the nines.
Ice sculptures, exotic dancers, live music, fire performances. It was as though the party was planned straight from Gatsby's playbook.
Only this party was different in the sense that it didn't hide the identity of the host. It hid the identity of all of them.
The opulent show was just here to help push the narrative that some of these men were powerful businessmen and not high class gangsters.
I had figured that the upper class guests that were eating up the entertainment were the ones that were -unknowingly- helping Alejandro keep up appearances.
While the sharks gathered along the edges in groups talking in hushed whispers about business were who  the party was truly for.
This was just an event for Alejandro and his business associates. A place where powerful criminals like him could meet in plain sight.
With a small smile of appreciation I grabbed the champagne from the nearest waiter before walking into the crowd.
I could feel eyes on me. More specifically his eyes. They were everywhere. The side of my head, my shoulders, my chest, trailing my midriff, pausing on my ass.
But I didn't pay any mind to Alejandro and his stare.
Instead I walked forward while smiling politely at the guests as I went and mingling amongst the ones I was familiar with.
It wasn't until I finally distanced myself from Jacob and the group of future Beverly Hills housewives that I felt his presence.
But I simply ignored him and continued to scout the five foot charcuterie display before me.
"You came." Is all he says in that deep rich voice of his. I don't look up, but the smell of his cologne was enough to tell me that he was standing next to me.
I grabbed a small plate and piled some prosciutto and crackers onto it. "Why wouldn't I?" My voice was soft and airy, a distracted hum as I kept my gaze ahead on the assortment of meats and cheese.
I had figured he was Boyd to come find me eventually. Especially after feeling his gaze stuck to me as I laughed and chatted with guests - more specifically Jacob who hadn't left my side all night.
I had an inkling that the moment I left his side, Alejandro would come barging in. His possessive instinct was provoked, and even though he had no right the man still felt some claim over me.
He clears his throat and steps closer. "You look lovely." His voice is low and he's trying again.
I grab the knife as I start slicking myself some cheese. "I know."
I guess the short responses and lack of attention was affecting the man too much for the next thing I knew he was grabbing my waist and spinning me towards him, to finally meet the stare I had been feeling on the back of my head all night.
Alejandro didn't look happy. "Camila." He says. The way in which he says my name tells me so much about what he's here for. He wants to talk, fix things, try again.
But that door closed the second he walked out of it to take that phone call.
"Alejandro." I reply only unlike his, my tone is firm and absolute. There's no room to change my mind and when he searches my eyes I can tell he sees this.
His jaw ticks, before he narrows his eyes and glances back towards Jacob. "So what? You're using Jacob to get back at me is that what this is?" He snaps, telling me what I needed to know.
He's only here because the thought of me with someone else has been bothering him all night.
I purse my lips and tilt my head to stare at him. I wasn't going to play into this game where I get hysterical and we fight, because I was done. "When will you realize that my world doesn't revolve around you?" I blink up at him, my tone matching my indifferent face.
His hard eyes snap down to mine and I can tell he's not taking what I said seriously."Camila, I know you're upset right now, but you don't have to be like this. I realized I shouldn't have just left-"
"But you did." I say matter of factly.
He searches my face, his softening slightly. "I did, but you have to understand it was a lot to take in. I care for you too much to put us in a position where we could ruin what we have-"
"When are you going to realize that you ruined it already? You did this to yourself. I gave you chance after chance and you not only blew it, but walked out." I say blankly.
He swallows thickly and it's then that his facade crumbles allowing me to see the guilt on his face. But it's always the same guilty face he makes after he hurts me.
I take a step back, away from him. "In case you haven't realized. Someone like me doesn't sit around and tolerate being treated the way you've been treating me."
He doesn't respond and when I look up his attention is elsewhere. I stifle a tired sigh. "Case and point." I mumble turning to leave but before I can he grips onto my wrist and pulls me closer to him.
My brows furrow and I look up to tell him off before examining his hard gaze and following it towards the outdoor entrance where three men stand looking extremely out of place.
The large man in the middle being the one that my attention automatically slides to. With a giant snake tattoo covering one side of his face, ashy blond hair and a terrifyingly unpleasant face the man instantly makes me uncomfortable.
He's followed by two large bulky men and when I look back to Alejandro his face is scrunched up in alarm. "Cazzo." He breathes under his breath.
I pull my hand from his grasp. "Oh, you have business to attend to?" I say going to move away and take this as an opportunity to leave, "Bummer." I say unenthusiastically.
But before I can step away, his eyes flash to mine and when I see the seriousness of his gaze I somber up.
Alejandro's face is calm yet I don't miss just how alarmed he looks, which only makes me anxious.
He spins us away from where the men are, and when he steps behind me covering me from their brow he places two hands on my shoulders and starts guiding us away from them. "Camila listen to me." His voice is a serious whisper in my ear and I tense, not liking the sound of it.
"I want you to blend into the crowd until you find Marco and when you do, tell him to take you straight to your room and stay with you." I swallow, suddenly feeling extremely unsafe. "Understood?" He murmurs against the shell of my ear.
My breath catches and fear lodges itself in my throat, but I will myself to give a simple nod and scurry away from Alejandro before he can say anything else.
If Alejandro was telling me they were dangerous, then I needed to steer clear of them at all costs.
I glance behind my shoulder, catching sight of him as he makes his way towards the men greeting them and I turn to walk into the crowd in search of Marco.
