We Will Teleport
Dragana POV
I stood confused, looking at Solomon and my hands, gold energy still pulsating through my hands, like gold sparkles flying everywhere. He was smiling at me, his eyes kind and encouraging. “What just happened????”, I finally managed to ask him, feeling the energy vibrations through my whole being.
“You saved Jasmine’s life”, he stated simply. “She was bound by the Shadow. And you freed her”, he said, as if he was reading the weather report. “I… I did WHAT???I can do that...???”, I was stuttering now, my anxiety shooting through the roof. “Yes dear child, you can do that and so much more! I am so very proud of you! You should probably rest again. You are not used to these spells. We need to train – both your body and mind”, his concern for me evident, as he extended his hand to pick me up. Somehow, in the process of whatever spell I was doing, I fell to the ground.
“Does this work only on family? I mean what I did for Jasmine??? Is that why I managed to do it?? Because we are blood bound??”, I continued to ask. In the long conversation Solomon and I had earlier today, he explained that Jasmine was also related to me. In fact, she was the sister of my grandfather, the very same man who attacked us, Dark Lord Khor. Technically, that made her my grandaunt. “Your magic and your power are not limited child”, he said, walking me back to the tent. The sun was setting over the ocean with beautiful colors of pink and purple spilling into the blue of the ocean, and the picture unfolding was incredibly beautiful. I kept turning to look at it. “Could we, could we stay here?? On the beach. To watch the sunset??”, I asked hopefully.
“You can do whatever you want, great granddaughter. Go wherever you want, this is your home too, you are a Princess child!”.
I blushed, nodding. All of this was too much. I was still trying to process the family connections Solomon discussed with me earlier. As we were walking back to the beach, several servants showed up bringing a large ottoman, some comfortable chairs, a table, and what looked like trays of fresh food and wine. The delicious aroma of food was incredible, my stomach started rumbling, reminding me I had not eaten in some time now.
“You need to eat also, you have spent a lot of energy on Shadow work”, he said gently. I noticed I felt weaker than normal. He was right. Sitting there, watching the sunset, warm sand under my bare feet, the smell of grilled fish and spices, fresh fruit and still warm bread was mouthwatering. He gave me a glass of pink bubbly wine and, for the moment, I just sat there, stress washing off me. I was quiet and content. I was so grateful that Jasmine would live. Now I understood why I felt connected to her, she was my kin after all, and she nearly died protecting me.
We sat there in the silence, a gentle breeze bringing smells of nearby flower bushes mixed in with the smell of sea water. Something was still nagging me. “Can I ask you something?” I turned to Solomon, who was watching me carefully. He nodded, not saying anything. “Alpha King Jonathan said that my powers were conditioned on me remaining celibate, that if I am not a virgin, that I will lose them”, I said sheepishly. I was not very comfortable discussing my nonexistent sex life with my great grandfather; however, I was curious and needed direction to fully understand how my powers work. If anyone knew the real truth about this, that would be him.
A thunderous laughter followed my question, as if I had said something very funny. I arched my eyebrow and looked at him. He was trying to stop laughing and after a minute or so, finally, he managed to speak, although still chuckling. “How do you think witches have survived for millennia, child?”, he asked in between the chuckles. “We do not just materialize out of thin air, nor pop out of a spell!!!!!”, he said still laughing. My serious expression did nothing to deter his laughter, but when I said nothing, he took my hand in his gently and looked at me with patience. “You have a mate child, just like any other being. And in your case, you are very special. Like I said, you are a Tribrid, and the rules of three worlds apply to you, creating a somewhat unique situation for you”, he said, now gently squeezing my hand. The voice in my head was excited, roaring “I KNEW IT -WE HAVE A MATE!!!! WE HAVE A MATE!!”
“I do not understand”, I said softly.
“How about tomorrow you go to my library in Alexandria, and get some books on this, or on anything you really want. There are ancient texts about creation which can explain a lot and, of course, I am here too. We can stay there, there are gardens on that property with flowers from all over the world, or we can bring the books back here” he said. “Alexandria??? Isn’t that far away from here? How will we get there in one day?”, I looked at him dumfounded.
“That is easy. We will teleport”, he said, biting into an apple as if he had not a single care in the world.
