CHAPTER 20

Did he just say that? Shaking my head, I walk towards Jem but I was stopped by Emerson, he shakes his head telling me not to.

“Let me.” by that, he strode to where Jem and the man is.

Before he reaches Jem, I can see him getting really angry. Guards arrived but when they saw Jem, they stopped.

“What are you waiting for”? the man said to the guards who just stood there.

“Go arrest that f*cking sh*t and let the CEO fire that head of whatever department.” the man shouted wiping the blood on his mouth.

Jem glared the man. “You're now facing the CEO, why don't you tell him yourself, f*cktard”? Jem said firmly. He didn't shout.

The man looks like he choked because he coughed more than necessary.

Looking at the guards, he nods and by that, the man was dragged and escorted outside the premises. “You f*cking a$s#ole! I'll come back to you! I will make you pay.” the man shouted before he disappeared.

I sigh. What a day!

I saw someone running towards us. “I'm sorry sir, I took your assistant to her car.” the man said and Emerson nods.

We drove in silence until we we're actually sitting on Emerson's limousine. Yes, you read it right. His service today is a limo. I found it unnecessary.
May be he used it awhile ago.

“What's so important that you made a limo as our service? “ Jem asked.

Emerson shrugs. “It's a special day.”

I look at him and tilt my head. “Today's your birthday”? I said creasing my eyebrows.

I heard Jem chuckled and I turn my head to him. “What”?

Jem raises his two hands, surrendering.

Emerson chuckles. Yes. Wait. What? Did he really chuckled.

“What”? now it's Emerson time to ask

“Did you just chuckle”? I asked, smiling.

Then his face turns red. “And you blush too.” I stated. I swear he's really cutie pie to watch. I didn't know men can blush too.

“Uhm.. I'm sorry I'm just a human, you know.” he said. His face becomes blank again, like he has no emotions. I thought only women have mood swings?

“I was just teasing you, you know? No need to show your emotionless self again.” I said teasing and grinning.

“He's embarrassed, that's why.” Jem said, laughing and that earn a glare from Emerson. Then like a robot he zips his mouth but he can't hide his smile.

The limo parks in a 5 star hotel.

The receptionist immediately led us to our seats.

The hotel has a dim light, a fancy chandelier at the center, maroon carpets and gold chairs with maroon clothed tables. The furniture looks so fancy.

The waiter pours wines to our glasses while we read the Menu. The wine tastes divine.

Looking up to the waiter, “It's delicious; may I know what this is”? I asked.
The waiter with Luke name on his name tag smiled. He was about to say something when Emerson interrupted.

“It's a 1945 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild.” he said while looking at me intimately.

Impressive

”You know about wines? Nice.” I said sipping the wine.

“Nice”? he said. “Is that a compliment”? he asked, smirking.

“Whatever! “


Our dishes are now served. Mine is a well done Kobe Beef with Saffron while Emerson and Jem's are Medium Rare.

When I took a bite on it, it’s very juicy.

And that's when I remembered to ask something.

“Wait.” then the two gentlemen raises their heads on me.

I smiled. “You didn't answer my question a while ago. “ I asked Emerson.

“Oh, yes right. I forgot because of the drama.” he pauses to sip in to his wine. I raise my eyebrow. “Because you did well on your interview, I don't know if it's Jean that you want to impress or me. “ He said smirking. His eyes are tantalizing.

“You” I said trying to control my blush. Two can play at a game.

He froze like he won in a lottery or like someone dearly just died.

Jem who is about to put a food on his mouth stocks midway

I laugh and that made them move again.

“Really? You both look like you were freeze by elsa's power.” and now they both looked confused.

“Now what? You don't know the frozen movie”? I said. “The let it go.. Let it go.. Can't hold it back anymore..”I said singing.

“Sorry sweetheart we're busy running the world.” Jem said.

“As if”? I said laughing.

The dinner was so full of annoying conversation, loud laughs and teasing. I'm beginning to bring back my old self again, I know it.
